Please don't hate on the songs from the album, people remade these in THEIR OWN STYLE. You may not be a big fan of their styles, or may simply prefer the originals, I personally do, but their is no need to hate. The artists put a lot of work into these songs.
For all those who say this whole album was bad......do y'all really know what a cover is it's singing a song in the artist own style there not gonna be like the original cuz it's the original it's will stay the same a cover is supposed to be different not the same yw😊👋
jacks obsession is still unforgivable, every song on this album is a good reimagining in a new and different style but jacks obsession is so unreasonably garbage and off-model, even if these songs are made in the bands style they are still recognizable as the original songs
this is amazing so well done plain white T's really did bring out the sad and depressed side fo jack really well but they bring the bit when he realize's what's happened even better it's so good fucking prime
Bass is great in this song! But you guys are right, Flyleaf and Plain White T's should have switched, although I think this way we can get a whole new look on "What's This?" along with "Poor Jack."
Nearly everyone in the comments are just like "OH MY GOD THE SONGS ARE SO DIFFERENT, THEY'ER NOT LIKE THEY WERE IN THE FILM. JESUS WHY CAN'T THEY JUST DO THE SONGS LIKE DANNY WRITE AND PREFORMED THEM" But I bet you anything if they band did do it like Danny they all will be like "OH MY GOD IT'S MEANT TO BE A COVER AND NOT MEANT TO BE LIKE THE FILM. WHY DIDN'T THE BANDS DO IT HOW THEY WOULD HAVE DONE IT".
this one is better than some alot of the other covers, but it's feels like it's missing something. so far, in my oppenion, the good ones are, in no particular order: 1. this is halloween, by manson 2. whats this, by fall out boy 3. saly's song, by Amy Lee 4. kidnap the sandy claws, by BOTH she wants revenge and korn 5. making christmas, by Raise against
I liked the flyleaf cover and I like this one. But I agree that they should've switched the songs for between both bands. Just to see what it would sound like by them.. Ya know?
i actually thought it was really good! it probably wouldnt have been any better if they tried to change it or anything. they pretty much got it exact here, and i think that sounds great
ok i don't care what everyone here says, i think its a really good cover, cause alot of covers completely overpower the words when they do them of musicals. and this song kept the emotions that the original had.
im just so happy with the bands they chose, its a perfect mix, but ya..maybe the songs should hav been switched a bit..but i mean, at least they did this
The fact that people are judging all of the covers to the originals is unfair. The bands add their personal touches to the songs, and that's why they are called 'covers'. Anyways, they aren't that bad.
@Akimare34 Their was a few songs that I remember being covered with words in them, I couldn't remember what they were cos it was on a ripped cd my bruv' gave me, I rememebr a cover of Oogie's song aswell as their was jack and sally and oogie singing " this is Halloween "
I personally think the Plain White T's were a good choice for this songs, plus the lead singer sounds like his is kinda enjoying it in the spoken word parts IDK that is what I think.
jack is supposed to sound sad like he failed more then just his dreams, not like he cant go to the next MCR concert...god, plain white t failed horribly all together...
Lyric What have I done? What have I done? How could I be so blind? All is lost, where was I? Spoiled all, spoiled all Everything's gone all wrong What have I done? What have I done? Find a deep cave to hide in In a million years they'll find me Only dust and a plaque That reads, "Here Lies Poor Old Jack" But I never intended all this madness, never And nobody really understood, how could they? That all I ever wanted was to bring them something great Why does nothing ever turn out like it should? Well, what the heck, I went and did my best And, by God, I really tasted something swell And for a moment, why, I even touched the sky And at least I left some stories they can tell, I did And for the first time since I don't remember when I felt just like my aold bony self again And I, Jack, the Pumpkin King That's right, I am the Pumpkin King, ha, ha, ha And I just can't wait until next Halloween 'Cause I've got some new ideas That will really make them scream And, by God I'm really gonna give it all my might Uh oh, I hope there's still time to set things right Sandy Claws, hmm
I, personally love this song, and I have taken the advice of speeding it up. And, in all honesty, it sounds awful sped up, it sounds unnatural and worst of all like nightcore. So if you dislike this song, okay it's your opinion, but please remember that effort and hard work was put into this version. And some of you that dislike this song can you please tell me why you dislike it? Like I'm being serious, I've only seen one person justify their dislike for this song.
Isn't it supposed to? Cause he realizes that what happened, you know with him crashing and giving away all the scary toys, is kind of a good thing. Right?
I have to disagree with your saying not to listen to a song you dislike. Many people (including myself) come to youtube to find songs they've heard of but haven't yet listened to. I wouldn't doubt that many of the people you are referring to are first time listeners. Sometimes they enjoy the song, sometimes they don't. There is nothing wrong with expressing that you didn't enjoy it...though, of course, some could be a bit nicer about how they say it.
Although everyone here knows the original is better, the artist for this album did a good job. Its not the original yes but we can still opreciate their work right? Don't answer me if you got something bad to say.
I think this song was ruined entirely, personally. It doesn't have emphasis on the right moments, 'well how could they?' should have massive emphasis and anger to it, in the original it was more of a statement, a rhetorical 'WELL HOW COULD THEY?!' but in this version it sounds like an actual question. Jack is the Pumpkin King, the scariest being in the universe, not some wimp trying to be accepted. The revisited songs also sound very... Emo-hipster-y. Very disappointing, just because it's dark doesn't mean it's for these people, I love it because this was a masterpiece in my childhood, not because I'm some kinda goth. It's meant to be Halloween-y, not Boringteen-y.
hey dumb ass. if you don't like, DON'T LISTEN TO IT. DUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH. I THINK ITS PERFECT SO I LISTEN TO IT. YOU THINK IT SUCKS SO GO THE FUCK AWAY. WHY ARE YOU HERE ANYWAY. GOD BLESS
I'm here because I'm a massive fan of Nightmare Before Christmas, and it just so happens I came across this whilst listening to the actual soundtrack. When I heard this though, I realised just how bad it was compared to the real thing, and how much it just does not, at all, get the real point of the song across. It's depressing, that someone who didn't understand the song would try to do it again, it's almost as though the singer just wanted to try it to get some interest from TNBC fans, rather than to pay respects to a great film.
+Laxus Dreyar (Lightning Dragonslayer) ok cool you like tnbc. so don't hate on tnbc stuff. if you don't like it, walk the fuck away from it. just say " oh its not for me. so I'll be on my way " and leave. it's that fucking simple
Yes I completely agree with you. There was only one song that I thought that was completely amazing, and only four or five that I thought were either okay or good. Which I think is a complete disappointment.
I actually really like this cover. (: Specially when he sings "That reads 'Here lies poor old Jack'! "
Please don't hate on the songs from the album, people remade these in THEIR OWN STYLE. You may not be a big fan of their styles, or may simply prefer the originals, I personally do, but their is no need to hate. The artists put a lot of work into these songs.
All of the songs are Okie for me except jack obsession
I agree
the only song on this track that deserves shit is jacks obsession that one is so bad
@@burp3322 yeah, jacks obsession does not fit "their style" and thats why is TRASH
Couldn't disagree more. :>
For all those who say this whole album was bad......do y'all really know what a cover is it's singing a song in the artist own style there not gonna be like the original cuz it's the original it's will stay the same a cover is supposed to be different not the same yw😊👋
AYEEEEE I FOUND U LMAO DORK 😂😂🖕
@@Rothlikmioff lmao ayeeeee wsg
jacks obsession is still unforgivable, every song on this album is a good reimagining in a new and different style but jacks obsession is so unreasonably garbage and off-model, even if these songs are made in the bands style they are still recognizable as the original songs
Dude, Tom Higgenson really sounds kind of like Jack in some of these parts! Favorited this and rated it 5 stars!
its my favorite song lol 😅😅😅
Remember when youtube had stars?
3 days before Christmas and I'm still listening to this 😂😂
Happy Anniversary
wow; i was surprised at how well they covered this. thumbs up. my all time favorite movie
this is amazing so well done plain white T's really did bring out the sad and depressed side fo jack really well but they bring the bit when he realize's what's happened even better it's so good fucking prime
I love this cover.
i like it sooo much...i like his voice
I think these guys did a pretty good job. He sounds quite a bit like Jack's normal voice actor
I love this. I think he really captures the emotion.
That's not the point tho, it's not about his voice being good for the song. They took the song and gave a their own twist, and that's the point.
At least *someone* understands!
Wow that was Plain White T's he did a wicked good job!
I agree. Some people can't find true emotion in songs.
JESUS WHY CAN'T THEY JUST DO THE SONGS LIKE DANNY WRITE AND PREFORMED THEM"

I love this song! Both versions are great.
He sounds just like the really Jack.
this one is better than some alot of the other covers, but it's feels like it's missing something.
so far, in my oppenion, the good ones are, in no particular order:
1. this is halloween, by manson
2. whats this, by fall out boy
3. saly's song, by Amy Lee
4. kidnap the sandy claws, by BOTH she wants revenge and korn
5. making christmas, by Raise against
I like these new versions. I like the old ones. All of them are great to listen too.
This is actually really good!
CAKE would've been an appropriate band for this one ..
All of the songs honestly,,
This one's pretty good, but Kidnap the Sandy Claus (Korn) and Finale/Reprise (Shiny Toy Guns)are my favorites!
☆
I LOVE his voice!
Wow this is pretty good. I like both version, and with covers I only like them if they loyal to the original or better than the original.
Love it!
Hey guys, before you hate, try to remember that someone put a lot of effort into making this.
+Stitched Skull Studios yeah that just makes it worse. they tried their hardest and made this.
+Doinge You mean they made a decent version of it? Exactly.
*One word, AWSOME!!
I think this sounds better sped up, real good job
after a minute in or so he gets more emotion. i like it after that. that first minute tho was kinda dreary
I liked the flyleaf cover and I like this one. But I agree that they should've switched the songs for between both bands. Just to see what it would sound like by them.. Ya know?
This is amazing
Very good
Great Song Version of Poor Jack by Plain White T’s 💀💀💀🎃🎃🎃🎶🎶🎶💯💯💯
...in some parts it sounds like Bill Cypher
So Bill didn't die he just went to Halloween town xD
Do you really think bill is dead
i actually thought it was really good! it probably wouldnt have been any better if they tried to change it or anything. they pretty much got it exact here, and i think that sounds great
I actually really like this version.
This isn't so bad, and I love Plain White T's, so for doing poor jack, its kinda cute
ok i don't care what everyone here says, i think its a really good cover, cause alot of covers completely overpower the words when they do them of musicals. and this song kept the emotions that the original had.
I personally like this style.
kidnap the sandy claws is pretty good too
luv dis
im just so happy with the bands they chose, its a perfect mix, but ya..maybe the songs should hav been switched a bit..but i mean, at least they did this
I think the bands choose the songs they wanted to do them themselves.
true most of them failed but kidnap the sandy claws and this is halloween kicked ass
The fact that people are judging all of the covers to the originals is unfair. The bands add their personal touches to the songs, and that's why they are called 'covers'. Anyways, they aren't that bad.
Yes it is susposed to perk up.. He regains confidence in what he is.. and what he has to become.
its obvious.. Confidence usually equals happyness.
He sounds like bill cipher sometimes
I like it
Every one complains when they try to make it unique. so I say this is fine.
He has the bass voice to pull it off. From a vocalist point of view...
they're doing their own version of the song give them a break. her voice is beautiful in whats this
HER voice? You are aware it's a guy right?
I think this sounds awesome. And it's supposed to sound depressing by what I know. XD
Hurray for Plain White Tees! :D
i actually like this =D
thanks bro ^_^
No need to thank me! That's what I'm here for! POLITICAL-RANT-ENDER MAN! AWAY!!!!! *Le Whoosh*
yay this is done well too ^^
Ok, I was a bit harsh I confess. Every singer has a voice of his own. I was too critical.
i really like this version
I liked this, a bit too close to the original for a true cover, but given how many of these songs went way off target I'll take it
this is actually pretty good so ha
@Akimare34 Their was a few songs that I remember being covered with words in them, I couldn't remember what they were cos it was on a ripped cd my bruv' gave me, I rememebr a cover of Oogie's song aswell as their was jack and sally and oogie singing " this is Halloween "
I personally think the Plain White T's were a good choice for this songs, plus the lead singer sounds like his is kinda enjoying it in the spoken word parts IDK that is what I think.
I thought he sounded like Danny Elfman too lol
oh, and the Rise Against song is pretty good as well
Plain White T's isnt the pumpkin king....Jack Skellington is! :)
Well, this kills the song a little less than that cover of Jack's Lament. Still kills the song a little.
ok they should have done Jack's Lament
and this song too.
the all-american rejects killed my favorite Jack song!!
jack is supposed to sound sad like he failed more then just his dreams, not like he cant go to the next MCR concert...god, plain white t failed horribly all together...
What are you guys talking about. This song is about how much he messed up it is supposed to be depressing.
ya i agree
Well, I think this version is pretty good **
not bad :)
this is actually kinda good. wtf?
@juno0890 I thought KORN brought the scarcasticness of the song, and I LOVED it!!!!
Hurray for Plain White Tees
Lyric
What have I done?
What have I done?
How could I be so blind?
All is lost, where was I?
Spoiled all, spoiled all
Everything's gone all wrong
What have I done?
What have I done?
Find a deep cave to hide in
In a million years they'll find me
Only dust and a plaque
That reads, "Here Lies Poor Old Jack"
But I never intended all this madness, never
And nobody really understood, how could they?
That all I ever wanted was to bring them something great
Why does nothing ever turn out like it should?
Well, what the heck, I went and did my best
And, by God, I really tasted something swell
And for a moment, why, I even touched the sky
And at least I left some stories they can tell, I did
And for the first time since I don't remember when
I felt just like my aold bony self again
And I, Jack, the Pumpkin King
That's right, I am the Pumpkin King, ha, ha, ha
And I just can't wait until next Halloween
'Cause I've got some new ideas
That will really make them scream
And, by God I'm really gonna give it all my might
Uh oh, I hope there's still time to set things right
Sandy Claws, hmm
i liked part 2:00
i think they did good on the end part but the beging is like what nakedchucho said
Alright, I was being too protective of the original version. I was bein an ass
I know I read the Wiki page after and noticed they didnt do this.
wtf is up with everyone saying songs sound better sped up? Just enjoy the original.
i honestly like both verisons
idk, i dont think there'e enough emotion in his voice for this song, this was a very important song! theres not enough feeling.
hhmmm sandy claws
I, personally love this song, and I have taken the advice of speeding it up. And, in all honesty, it sounds awful sped up, it sounds unnatural and worst of all like nightcore. Its sung with a sadistic/sad sarcasm which is a cool take on the song i think
Isn't it supposed to?
Cause he realizes that what happened, you know with him crashing and giving away all the scary toys, is kind of a good thing.
Right?
The second best cover on here, and second best attempt to sound a character first being Amy Lee singing Sally's Song
NO.
NO NO NO.
That's AMAZING compared to Jack's obssesion.
Eew.
It's jsut horrible.
Although i really like this song, the way they re did it.
Everybody needs to realize this is a cover not the original.
They aren't trying to be Danny Elfman.
cant you put who did each one?!
I have to disagree with your saying not to listen to a song you dislike. Many people (including myself) come to youtube to find songs they've heard of but haven't yet listened to. who sings this song?
This is NOT Flyleaf. This is the Plain White T's. iTunes it people, or even Google. Gawd...

Almost seems like they didn't see the movie before recording...

Erm... You obviously didn't like the comments. I suggest you follow your own advice and gently remove yourself from this conversation?
Yes I completely agree with you. There was only one song that I thought that was completely amazing, and only four or five that I thought were either okay or good. Which I think is a complete disappointment.
lol this is my song.
nah, i'm pretty sure i said it well enough, thanks for your thoughts though.
