Someone already mentioned it on Pateron, but I think you guys misunderstood the intended takeaway from the twins doing the freak quick. The point was that up until now, it seemed like Kageyama was the only one who could set like that, which would mean Hinata would never be able to do the freak quick without him. But he's seeing now that there WILL be other setters who he can still do the freak quick with, even if Kageyama's not on his team.
By saying Hinata and Kageyama's freak quick isn't unique, he wasn't referring to Hinata being or not being a one trick pony. Which can be considered accurate, since at this level on the national stage, Hinata's serves are nothing special, his passing moments are considered lucky (because it's not consistent, like Daichi or Noya's), and the power behind his hits are nothing to write home about (compared to powerhouses like Ushiwaka and Aran; even compared to Asahi, really). What that coach really meant was that there are other setters out there who can also do the freak quick. It's not like Hinata's going to play with Kageyama forever, so knowing that there's another setter that can do a freak quick means Hinata's special attack doesn't necessarily go away once Kageyama is gone. That means he has a place to stand when it comes to competing against the best, even without his boy Kageyama. He's no longer considered just useful when as part of that pair, which he briefly griped about in Season 1. His best most notable move, the freak quick, still can be used and allow him to be just as lethal as a hitter and decoy on a higher stage of competition.
I love Pat, he really is the only one trying to appreciate all the greatness from both teams. Also yeah hinata is extremely lucky but that’s normal when you are starting to learn new things by yourself in a team sport.
The commentators talking about freak quick wasnt about it humbling hinata, they are talking about the fact that it is good for Hinata because now he can see other great setters besides Kageyama can also do that and so Hinata doesnt have to think he only needs Kageyama to be great. There are so many great players and Hinata has so many options. He is so young and has the world of time ahead of him.
They're saying it's luck because Hinata is not a skilled volleyball player (in their minds). Anything that's isn't running, jumping, spiking and instead involves a skill such as receiving or setting is going to seem like luck if he just so happens to do it well, lmao
I knew Rana would be simping over the Miya twins.. she's me 🕴 Can't wait for next week to come, episode 16 is one of the best of this season. It has such an important take about how regular players feels about other players that they know are way better than them! Thank you so much for the reaction ♡
For reactors you guys really do seem to misunderstand a lot of the dialogue. Not even subtle ones, just general explanations get misunderstood such as the freak quick explanation...
Normal on this channel. Still fun reactions, but something I wonder what goes through their heads when something is literally explained in the subs, they read it and still don't get it.
It's hard to watch now. It's keep getting dumb and dumber. Not getting the freak quick thing, like that is so obvious and also the thing about it not being unique. Just drop this anime already. It doesn't have to be that bad.

And the manga readers know what that means! (wink wink)
He wasn't saying 'tsuki can hit higher than ushiwaka' he was saying 'these are higher than the ones you were hitting against shiritorizawa'

Love to see the girls simping over the Miya twins
"Luck comes to those who are prepared" so Hinata or Karasuno being lucky is just proof of their hard work !
Suraj's 15:15 "Shabash beta" had me rolling 😭

Man I forgot how crusty the animation was this episode lmao. Love your guys' reactions every time Hinata tries so hard to impress Kageyama
Hey they didn't notice. That's good they didn't let it deter them from enjoying the ep.

Twins doing quick attack means that hinata has other setters who can set for him for a quick other than kageyama...thats a good news for hinata

I always think things are obvious and well explained in shows until I watch the Normies react to it. Then I just feel like a genius.
Next episode fire 🔥🔥
It's not luck pat he put himself in the position to succeed
Suraj - Daichi , Rana - Hinata , Mickey - Asahi , Marketa - Sugawara , Pat - Tanaka , Chris - Tsuki , Nikki - Kageyama
