The thing about British music is anyone who makes a list there all going to be different, my all time favourite Christmas song is merry Christmas everybody by slade. Don't know why, but everytime I here it puts a smile of face.
Paul Rodgers is an iconic singer, first became aware of him in the late 60s in a band called Free, he left them in the mid 70s to form Bad Company. After Freddy died he was drafted in to Queen until they could find a permanent replacement. There's also a Georgian/British singer/songwriter who was huge in the 2010s called Katie Melua, at the time she was married to double world superbike champion James Toseland, when he was forced to retire from m/c racing through injury, he turned to his other love, music and formed the rock band "Toseland."
Definitely. I’m a huge fan of Raye. Although she’s been in the music industry singing & song writing she’s now I dependant & is killing it. Brit awards etc etc.
Nip picking the 12 days of Christmas go from 25th of December till the 5th of January. Although some say 12 night is actually 6th of January.....however so far the posts have been good
It’s so difficult me doing a top 10. We have soo many fantastic singers/bands/song writers. I watch vlogs where I have to laugh because they ( American vloggers) don’t realise a particular group or singer is actually British. 😂 I would definitely go as far as to say the Brits do music better than the States! Whilst I love & appreciate R & B also the old Motown bands. I also agree rappers from America are amazing ( not my cup of tea) also American country music is pretty good. But in the whole I have to say we do music better. How can someone think the likes of George Micheal or Elton John are American 😂🤦♀️ soo many Americans live music & actors not realising they are British! Someone actually thought Any Winehouse was American 😂 honestly it’s weird. I think some Americans think everything they see listen to or watch is all American. It’s really funny x
It sounds so odd to me that you seem to refer to every artist - whether solo or band - as though they are all still out there, writing, singing, performing despite the fact msny of them are now deceased, or that several of their band members are deceased...eg. Half of 'The Who' original members are long gone (Keith Moon, drummer, John Entwistle, bass player) David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Freddie Mercury (of Queen), John Lennon & George Harrison of 'The Beatles'... Rest In Peace guys...
@thegroovetube3247 But it isnt though. If someone sings then dies, you refer to them fondly (hopefully) in the past tense. Not forever as if they are still in the land of the living! It's disrepectful ...imco.
@@brigidsingleton1596 So it's disrespectful to say that The Beatles are an iconic band? (As it happens she didn't refer to them in the present tense).Five hours ago Ringo Starr said "The Beatles are a bit afraid of A.I." I doubt that he was being disrespectful to John and George.
Cool shout out for both The Kinks & The Who. Absolutely top picks. Keep on Rock'in 😊 🎉
I'm English, some good choices, I especially appreciate you putting Freddy Mercury at number 1 🎉🎉🎉

Doesn't sound at all odd to me. Sounds perfectly normal.
