For quite a few years I had stopped listening to country music. I happened to see Randy Travis on TV singing Forever and Ever Amen. I went out the next day and bought it. And I was once again hooked on country music.

The song got me thinking about my Great Grandfather. I didn't know him super well, but I have some really good memories of him.
A super cool thing, I was able to buy the last car he owned from my Grandmother (his daughter). It's a 1988 Chevy Caprice Classic with a 305 Small Block V8.
My plan is to restore the car when I have the money and time to do so. It's a relatively clean car. It's never been in an accident, the body is straight with no major dents, and spending its life in Colorado there is no rust to speak of. The engine runs fantastic and it only has about 125,000 miles!
I think it's really cool to own my Great Grandfather's car. I'm guessing not that many people can say that, plus it's a fairly sought after car. Almost every time I drive it I have people coming up to me wanting to buy it!

I love this song it reminds me of my pappy we did some of this stuff cuz we lived on a farm and he'd teach us how to do fun stuff instead of just being on tablets and stuff like that

All my grandparents and great grandparents are gone now but I’ve been one of the lucky ones who was able to meet all 4 grandparents and 3 of my great grandparents. And especially my maternal grandpa walked on water for me. ❤

In Germany the name for grandma is Oma or Omi. For grandpa it’s Opa or Opi.
I ran and got a strainer and a mason jar, but thankfully I didn't need it. I am so happy you tried it first I was too chicken to. I was just going to pour the bourbon out, thinking it couldn't be good, but before I did I checked with Google who said as long as the seal was not broken it was good.
