When they said that they were on the road for a month in the first episode I couldn't believe it. I knew that the show eventually took liberties with how close together every place in Westeros was, but condensing a month of travel into a few days at most is ridiculous.

She picked the best and smartest option available to her in her position. The queen was 100% responsible for the wolf being killed.
You are not wrong, but was there ever a chance to have a normal relationsship with Joffrey? Joffrey is clearly an incarnation of sadism and brutality who makes other people suffer for fun as his treatment of Micah shows. I think a relationship with him would be unbearable no matter what Sansa did or didn't do in this situation so she didn't really have anything to loose by telling the truth. Also the potential consequences should be taken into account. If Robert had believed Joffrey he would have concludde that Joffrey attacked a lowburn person. I am not even sure he would be punished for this and if he was the punishment wouldn't be severe. If Robert had believed Joffrey however Arya would have been found guilty of attacking a member of the royal family and the punishment for this is loosing a hand. Given this alternatives I think it would have been better to make sure the King didn't disbelieve Arya. But even if you think Sansa did the right thing in this situation the fact that she showed compassion for Joffrey and not disgust and hatred after this monster was hurt in a fight he started for the sake of being evil shows in my opinion that there is something wrong with her morals.
Kit Harrington met his wife on the set of GoT, and shortly before they were married, they found out they were distantly related, like by fifteen genrations.
As Arya began her story, Ned heard the door open behind him. He glanced back and saw Vayon Poole enter with Sansa. They stood quietly at the back of the hall as Arya spoke. When she got to the part where she threw Joffrey's sword into the middle of the Trident, Renly Baratheon began to laugh. The king bristled. "Ser Barristan, escort my brother from the hall before he chokes." Lord Renly stifled his laughter. "My brother is too kind. I can find the door myself." He bowed to Joffrey. "Perchance later you'll tell me how a nine-year-old girl the size of a wet rat managed to disarm you with a broom handle and throw your sword in the river." As the door swung shut behind him, Ned heard him say, "Lion's Tooth," and guffaw once more.
Cersei is extremely narcissistic. She sees Jamie and the kids as an extension of herself. The story she told Cat did not happen in the books, but I can totally buy her looking at a little black-haired infant and thinking, "This little shit looks too much like Robert. Time to pay a visit to Pycelle's apothecary."
"If you see the girls looking down during filming, it's because they are actively taking notes!" Come on, we all know they're flirting with Maple's shoes.
Rhaegar was Daenerys brother and killed Ned's sister. Mormont was exiled by Ned because he sold some men as slaves and and slavery is prohibited in Westeros.
Book canon on the Starks: all their children, save Arya, have the Tully look, blue eyes, Auburn hair. Arya and Jon look like Starks, grey eyes and dark hair. I think it is one of the reasons Caitlyn resents Jon so much. He looks like Ned and only one of her children does.

You asked if the wolves are connected. And in the books they do have a connection to the Stark kids. A connection that's slightly more than an owner and a pet. It's vaguely mystical in nature and it's tied to some stuff the show won't go very much into, unfortunately.
@@LudusAurea Yes, and the multiple times they do is still not 'very much’ compared to the books. And they are not just connected to their dire wolves. One of them at one point (in the books), while temporarily blinded, sees through the eyes of a cat that just happens to be nearby.
The little quiver in Ned's face and voice when he talks about Jon's mother. George R R Martin told every character a secret about their characters that wasn't in the books, this was Ned's. The biggest whiplash in reading the books after the show is the age disparity. In the show, Ned, Robert, Catelyn, and Cersei seem middle aged or older, an age appropriate for someone to be in a position of political power, but in the book they are all just 36 years old max. They are younger than any US President has ever been, and they have all been in positions of power for more than a decade.

“The children are awfully blonde” Well goddamn that was quick 😂 You guys are usually very sharp in your observations which makes me excited to watch your reactions. I notice this in your Peaky Blinders reactions, too. I was deep in the throes of nursing school the first four seasons of this show (not to mention have ADHD which was undiagnosed at the time) and missed SO much that I didn’t catch on to until my second watch through, after the series ended. This is a very complicated plot and is a lot to process even if you’re paying close attention but I think you guys will do much better with processing it than I did the first time. 😅 Edit: I always felt like Cersei was being sincere when she spoke to Catelyn in Bran’s room. Of course she doesn’t want she and Jamie’s secret to be found out but she is a mother and fiercely protective of her children. She empathizes even if she wants Bran dead. I feel like there is a lot of dichotomy in these characters.
Sofie turner (sansa stark) adopted the dog that played her direwolf in real life so you can have some comfort that dog is very loved and taken care of ❤
Jorah Mormont isn't an ambassador, he was a nobleman in the north of Westeros. However he sold two poachers he caught on his lands to a slave trader from Essos. Slavery is a huge taboo in Westeros, so when Ned Stark (Protector Of The North, and therefore outranking him) found out, he ordered him executed, but Jorah fled to Essos before he could be caught. If he goes home to Westeros he'll be executed.
27:56 Mormont said he had beef with Ned Stark because Ned Stark caught Mormont selling people into slavery and Ned Stark treated that like a crime (and then Viserys Targarian said that that wouldn't be a crime if he were king). So it was worse than Mormont was poaching but killing the Stark sister wasn't mentioned.
Yes, the people sold into slavery were the poachers, not Jorah. As Lord Bear Island, he was entitled to punish the poachers for hunting on his land, but slavery is illegal in the Seven Kingdoms.
I genuinely think Cersei in that scene at branns bedside is sincere. One thing you’ll learn and this isn’t exactly a spoiler is she genuinely does love her children and she didn’t exactly ask jaime to push him. I think she does actually care at that point and feel guilt over it
Lots of people call out Sansa as love-struck, and while she is, there is no denying in that, she did the best she could in that situation. The marriage is arranged. and Joffrey is the hear to the throne, so going against, first, betrothed and telling all the crowd that he lied would make her marriage unbearable. And going against the royal prince's story would be even worse. So she lied that she doesnt remember to protect both Joffrey, and her sister at the same time.
Alright. I won’t cry about getting this once a week. But could we please, at least get 2 episodes out of you per upload. I waited years to watch it the first time. I don’t wanna wait another year to get to season 6. God bless you two
I think Arianna may be able to see the future!! Good call with Bran! Yes, Lady is dead. The "other guy" is a hostage/foster from the Iron Islands. During a rebellion against the crown, Ned was charged with quelling it. In the process of b1+¢h slapping the head of the Iron Islands, Balon Greyjoy, gave his surviving son (who was 10 at the time) over as a hostage. In our world, the custom was that the hostage would be fostered by the local lord to learn how to be a better person (than the parents). The same custom appears to be in use in Westeros as well. Theon is the boy who is essentially the same age as Robb (16 or 17). BTW, Daenerys and Jon are about the same age as well... about 15. Many things that GRRM writes in these books are drawn from real life events, and practices.

while that would normally be true, if you look at the way she treated Jon, how she gaslighted Ned into 1. Allowing (forcing) Jon to go to the wall, 2 turned around and played the victim and blamed Ned about “abandoning” to be Hand that she PUSHED that he accept, the the things she has done later in the season. I think “deserves” has everything to do with it.

Edit: I always felt like Cersei was being sincere when she spoke to Catelyn in Bran’s room. Of course she doesn’t want she and Jamie’s secret to be found out but she is a mother and fiercely protective of her children. She empathizes even if she wants Bran dead. I feel like there is a lot of dichotomy in these characters.
It helps when the one making the comment has read the books. Kinds ruins its for the other…
Get off dick…
She has read the books
Arianna has read the books. 🙂
"It's f'ed up. It's f'ed up."
Welcome to Game of Thrones.

Dire Wolves are extremely loyal, they also take on the personality of their owners. At full size they grow almost as big as horses.
Sofie turner (sansa stark) adopted the dog that played her direwolf in real life so you can have some comfort that dog is very loved and taken care of ❤
Forgot how hard it is to watch early season Sansa
Sansa didn't LOSE her wolf. The Old Gods took Lady back because she refused to stand by her packmate.
That's a neat way to think about it.
Her packmate woud be her future husband...... lol I swear people can't look at things objectively.
@@havingfun-u4g Unless and until they speak their vows in front of a weirwood tree, Joffrey has no standing in the eyes of the Old Gods.
I love when you both react together ❤️ love from Wales

I can finally simp for Mormont again.
15:29 Summer don't play. It is known.
22:19 Nymeria don't, either. It is known.
Not really a spoiler: In the books there is strongly implied to be a mystical bond between the Stark kids and their direwolves
1 episode a week we’ll be done in only a year and a half☠️☠️☠️
I think she does actually care at that point and feel guilt over it
Happily, you guys like who should be liked, don't like who shouldn't be liked, and hate who needs to be hated. Good start.
03:58 Indeeed they are UNUSUALLY blond... BtW:: _EXCELLENT choice of NON-diagetic sound cue!!!_
Can't wait for the future seasons to change/form opinions on characters you guys have already formed opinions on, Fuuuaaark, such a good show.
lol @ Maple's lines in this. I'm looking for someone who looks at me the way Maple looks at Momoa's left nipple 🤣
11:49 menace lmao
Guys the little brothers name is Rickon Stark not Ricken
3 days 1 ep, that's what we need
I’m so happy you’re finally doing this show 👍
Lots of people call out Sansa as love-struck, and while she is, there is no denying in that, she did the best she could in that situation.
I’m glad u were bullied for reading GOT so now I can watch this gold.
Alright. I won’t cry about getting this once a week. But could we please, at least get 2 episodes out of you per upload. I waited years to watch it the first time. I don’t wanna wait another year to get to season 6. God bless you two
And this is when the world started to hate Joffrey (and for some, his actor, even though that poor kid didn't deserve it).
Jack Gleeson is a treasure. The whole cast went to bat to protect him.
He's recently been announced to be coming back to acting which is great. He was phenomenal in this.
You guys are going to love this show so much omg I can’t wait
03:54 - Oh, my God... She is not only beautiful, but also intelligent? We're on the second episode only!!!
And now I'm in love...
Arianna has read the books
Dont be too harsh on Sansa, she is to marry joffrey: i dont think it is wise to anger him now, its not merely "simping" as it is doing the best in her circumstances
while that would normally be true, if you look at the way she treated Jon, how she gaslighted Ned into 1. Allowing (forcing) Jon to go to the wall, 2 turned around and played the victim and blamed Ned about “abandoning” to be Hand that she PUSHED that he accept, the the things she has done later in the season. I think “deserves” has everything to do with it.
