My recommended pieces which should be in Part 5 : 1. Schubert : Ständchen (Arr. Liszt) 2. Chopin : Ballade 1, Waltz 9 "L'Adieu", Waltz 1 3. Liszt : Réminiscences de Norma (I wish that this piece should be put in here !!!!!)
Wow, I haven't heard Bach's Prelude no.1 in years. My dad used to play piano when he was a child, and stopped playing when he started a family. A year before he died, he bought an electric piano and managed to record himself playing Bach's prelude no. 1. We used this recording in his funeral and I haven't heard it since. Instantly made me cry as soon as I heard it
Well Dvorak didn't actually write the theme for Jaws, his new world symphony was written in 1893, John Williams just used the first few bars as a base, just as he sampled Jupiter from Holst's "The Planets" suite for the Imperial March in Star Wars
I recognized most of the songs in this series (though not the names). What I was doing in my head was 'Did I hear my grandmas/mom/sister play this?'. I think about half of the songs were played on the piano by my family members.
Going through all of the parts and was about to lose hope that the piece of music stuck in my head would never be found... 19!! Almost the very last one. Got it in the end, thanks!
Mentally inserting the gunnery commands for the 1812, and trying to remember how many cannon it was originally scored for (off the top of my head, assuming a typical level of competency, I *think* it needs a 6 gun battery. Crack gunners with well-found pieces might be able to keep up with only a 4-gun battery, while with green artillerists you may well need 12). The long descending run is there to make sure Gun 4 is reloaded...
I couldn't show my face at home if I didn't recognize pretty much all these bc of my daughter but especially #20 as a MA native, the Boston Pops play this every year during July 4th fireworks
I knew: Bach Prelude Sugar Plum Fairy Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) Sorcerer's Apprentice (Fantasia) Barber of Seville Rondo Alla Turca (my favorite 😍) 1812 Overture!
Fun fact: Mussorgsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" and Schubert's "Ave Maria" are both played in Disney's _Fantasia_ (as is "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"). Extra bonus fact: Tom Baker can be heard whistling the Colonel Bogey March in several episodes of _Doctor Who_ (including "The Invasion of Time").
I knew Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - but about half of them I knew "Oh, well I don't know the name, but that's from Swan Lake" And given names like "Etude 25 Rhapsody 4 Movement 7 Order 66" I don't think I can be blamed for getting the actual names slightly confused.
There were some groups that mixed classical music with rock music in the 1970's . They were the "YES" ( English group ) , EMERSON , LAKE , AND PALMER" ( English group ) and "EKSEPTION" ( Dutch group - well known in Europe but not America ) . EMERSON , LAKE , AND PALMER had a third album entitled "PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION" (1971) featuring live songs composed by MUSSORGSKY .

The #2 song TCHAIKOVSKY'S "DANCE OF THE LITTLE SWANS" ( from "SWAN LAKE") first part sounds initially like a slowed down song called "BALLADE" (BURGMULLER , OP.100 NO. 15 ) that I learned when I was taking piano lessons . The #5 song TCHAICHOVSKY'S " DANCE OF THE SUGAR PLUM FAIRY " is a favorite of mine . The #12 song MOZART'S "EINE KLEINE NACHTMUSIK" ("A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC" ) is another one of my favorites ! I had heard song #14 RICKETT'S " COLONEL BOGEY MARCH " but didn't know the artist or the title .
I've heard them all, only knew the names of nine. I remember Ave Maria from the Hitman games (and also The Batman). I suppose "Hey, that's the Masterpiece Theater theme!" doesn't count for one.
I did pretty good. Got maybe 10 to 12 of them. But I realized watching a few of these videos that I don't think I've ever heard anything by Bach before.
honestly, how did you grow up with Disney and Looney Tunes and *NOT* come away with knowledge of classical music? Very-young-me started his classical education there.
5/80 lol and it was all of the easy ones.i got one in part one and it was the entertainer by joplin, 1 in part 2 and it was in the hall of the mountain king, one in part 3 and it was dance of the knights and 2 in part 4 and they were the lacrimosa and dance of the sugar plum fairy. so i done okay. i have heard winter wind in your lie in april and it brought a tear to my eye.
Sorry I’m making another comment but it’s story time: #20 has me absolutely triggered because one year some of us in band played it with the orchestra students and we messed up and had to start over DURING THE CONCERT 😭
4 parts and I still can't find the one I'm looking for. It was like you play constantly the same in the middle with the left hand and then with right you go on the right, then on the left and so on. Hope this helps 😅
I don’t know if I understood well what you’re looking for, but two famous ones not in these are Largo al Factotum by Rossini from Il barbiere di Siviglia (used in the opening of the movie Mrs Doubtfire) and the Ouverture from La gazza ladra from Rossini as well (used for Moriarty stealing the Crown Jewels in BBC’s Sherlock). Hope it helps, if not, at least they’re bangers!

1. I know all Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, for Mvt 1 2. I know only Swan Lake Main Theme....! 3. My favo Bach Prelude ! 4. Mozart wrote Requiem in D Minor (Lacrimosa) for his last piece, after his death (1792) 5. This piece is so beautiful. I heard it in a movie. 6. My favo Haydn piece ^^ 7. IDK... 8. One of famous Chopin Etude ^^ 9. IDK. But I know Mussorgsky. 10. But it is not Jaws Theme. Jaws theme is slightly slow, but this is fast. 11. Wow. I don't know about this part. Exactly, I know "Aria in G" not "Goldberg". 18. Oh !! Rossini !! I know this 19. I know it firstly by Mozart Sonata (but I heard it for second Mozart piece.) 20. I know it ^^
Instead of calling it songs you don't know the name of, it should be songs you know but can't remember. I recognised all of them, but a couple I either couldn't remember or confused with another piece

1. Schubert : Ständchen (Arr. Liszt)
2. Chopin : Ballade 1, Waltz 9 "L'Adieu", Waltz 1
3. Liszt : Réminiscences de Norma (I wish that this piece should be put in here !!!!!)

I am terribly sorry for your loss. The best thing you can do is hold onto those sweet memories though. ❤
Im feel sorry to hear that sir
I’m so sorry for your loss.
Well, my classical music education stood me pretty well. But you should know at least a few of these if you ever watched Disney's "Fantasia".
The way I was just waiting for Turkish March and it finally appearing made me so happy
#10 I never knew that Dvorak wrote the theme to Jaws!
Well Dvorak didn't actually write the theme for Jaws, his new world symphony was written in 1893, John Williams just used the first few bars as a base, just as he sampled Jupiter from Holst's "The Planets" suite for the Imperial March in Star Wars

I recognized number 7 as the Masterpiece Theater music. Now I know the composer and name of the piece. I’ve always wondered about that til now.
I love it how they saved the epic finale for last!
12’s POV: Everyone thinks Mozart’s other song is a meme cuz of some rumour, and twelve is sad.
I recognized most of the songs in this series (though not the names). What I was doing in my head was 'Did I hear my grandmas/mom/sister play this?'. I think about half of the songs were played on the piano by my family members.
3:20 I thought to myself, "Oh, that's the theme to Masterpiece Theatre, though it probably has a more formal name that I don't know what it is."
Going through all of the parts and was about to lose hope that the piece of music stuck in my head would never be found...
19!! Almost the very last one. Got it in the end, thanks!
Song number 10 might be where jaws the film gets it's theme song inspired i could be wrong but the first part of the song really sounds like the film
That’s because Jaws did use that part of song #10 in its theme. That’s why it sounded so familiar! 😅

1:58 bro did an almost 3 octaves distance with one hand 💀
I knew:
Bach Prelude
Sugar Plum Fairy
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music)
Sorcerer's Apprentice (Fantasia)
Barber of Seville
Rondo Alla Turca (my favorite 😍)
1812 Overture!
What, is this the Fantasia round? Night on Bald Mountain, Sugar Plum Fairy, and Sorcerer's Apprentice?
I was actually wondering if the these from Barber of Seville would be on here just before it appeared, that one is definitely a classic
Before I clicked, I started singing the Turkish March only for it to appear after that one.
Any time I hear that, I always think of the Bugs Bunny cartoon "Rabbit of Seville."
@@Ronald.Golleher I’m pretty sure that’s how I first heard it as well
Looking forward to it!
If you do another one of these- a suggestion would definitely be Adagio For Strings.
4:40 I didn't recognize the song, nor the name, but I swear it kinda hit me kinda hard tbh. gave off a star wars themesong kinda energy.
Subtitles say "the Jaws theme was based on this"
4:39, that really threw me off! I literally said "What?" when I realised it wasn't Jaws.
1:51 NOOT NOOT
I hate how I immediately understood this without needing any context
I knew Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - but about half of them I knew "Oh, well I don't know the name, but that's from Swan Lake"
And given names like "Etude 25 Rhapsody 4 Movement 7 Order 66" I don't think I can be blamed for getting the actual names slightly confused.
Bach's "Sonata in C Op. 25" is distinctly different than Mozart's "Sonata in C Op. 28"
How could you ever get those mixed up?
I love how “Oh, well I don’t know the name, but that’s from Swan Lake” could be used on so many songs from it
Note to self...
Rewatch the video...
Be ready to hit pause...
Have pencil and paper handy to write down piece names.

I suppose "Hey, that's the Masterpiece Theater theme!" doesn't count for one.
