TheRenaissanceman65 this organ doesn’t just make sounds of a organ it makes sounds of trumpet, flutes, baritones, pianos, saxophone, tuba, oboe, trombone and even strings. It may just be a organ but it also make sounds of an orchestra
What I actually find really impressive is the fact that despite the massive size of the organ, there's little to no lag or delay between the key press and the actual sound, quite the engineering state of the art right there
Could be wrong but I think the controls are pneumatic also. I want to see the compressor for something like that!

I noticed that too. Maybe they are electronic keys that actuate solenoids.
I dont know about this one, but for the organ in notre dame of Lausanne in Switzerland (which is the most expensive in the world) the keyboard is linked to the organ with optical cable, so pretty much zero latency
Edit: not zero latency, as you'll always have to deal with the valves sending wind to the pipes, which takes some time. But the second keyboard of the organ is about 60 meters away from the main pipes, and it would be harder to play without the optical cable.
Looks like a beginner friendly musical instrument.

That organ seems to have more controls than a nuclear reactor.
That depends on how you define "nuclear reactor." My favorite thing about pipe organs of this scale is that, you aren't playing a simple organ, you are playing an instrument that's larger than most people's houses! I thought at first that the name of the organ was "Mountain King", which would make sense.
That would only be possible if it were on a mountaintop, and even then you’d be the only one to blame whenever an avalanche occurs. Also, calling a pipe organ “Mountain King” has the same energy as people calling the titanic “unsinkable”
How does he even get in and out without blowing out everybody's ears within 10 miles of the premises?
Butt scooting maybe? Or also maybe shutting off the air blowers for the pipes
The 32' pipes don't damage your ears, because your ears are too small: they cause internal concussions

when you're a 15th century monk in a church, and the church has a big organ
The Monk:
*_lord, forgive me for what am i going to do_*
The church organ that you see here was invented in 1700...
va fanculooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
The Musical Science Kitty it was made in 2007 (this organ)
Ahh yes, let me play some Grieg who lived in the romantic era.
The organ as we know it can be traced back to the Greek engineer Ctesibius of Alexandria, in the 3rd century.
I grew up on pipe organs. And because of it, every time I sit down to play a piano/keyboard today, I feel like I'm selling my soul.
I love when Grieg gets some love. 😊 I can’t IMAGINE his Concerto in A Minor: I Allegro on this! 😱 I grew up hearing my father play it, rumbling through the house, and I’d still be hard pressed to name a classical work that’s more ferocious. I’m so glad I found this channel!
Orchestra: Needs multiple people with amazing talent and experience in the musical field and the specific instrument they are playing.
This guy: An organ, 10 fingers, two feet.
My Mom & Dad had this record, which sounded great on their stereo, that I played it over and over, back in the '50's - '60's ...
There's a massive organ (Cavaillé-Coll) in the second biggest church of my hometown (Rouen, Normandy). The sounds there is astonishing. (Un)fortunately the church and the organ are undergoing restoration. I miss hearing it and more importantly feeling it in my bones and flesh. Such a wonderful instrument.
Great to hear the CC at St Ouen is under restoration - do you know what factuer d'orgue is doing the restoration? CC built 6 organs in the UK and 4 survive and the largest (in Manchester City Hall) is currently under full restoration itself. Jonathan has uploaded on this channel a video of himself demonstrating this CC just before the restoration started.
@@epincion I was wrong, the CC organ is not comprised in the restoration. It is simply covered up during the restoration works on the occidental part of the church (until 2024). Sorry for getting your hopes up :/
In the meantime we still can enjoy other CC in several other churches in Rouen.
@@FlorentPlacide Thanks for the information.
@@epincion I got new information. I asked a friend who is involved in Saint-Ouen restoration and he told me that the tenured organist, Jean-Baptiste Monnot, has a project of creating an association in order to raise 1 million euros to restore the organ. We'll see if it goes through :)
@@FlorentPlacide Thanks for this information. I had heard that the St Ouen CC is privately owned by Mr Monnot (and maybe other partners)
Brilliant! I'm amazed at the dexterity of his feet, as well as his hands! Amazing!
It's just the right amount of unsettling, I fuckin love it. It seems like the same segment repeating, but it changes and morphs gradually
Everything about this screams TALENT. Just Magnificent. Thank you
Its incredible how much like the orchestral version this sounds
I've got to experience this live. Big organ fan and IN THE MOUNTAIN OF KINGS did I grow up with.
I love those horns probably my favorite part of these masterpieces I am weak just hearing this thing
No one to applaud him, it's so sad ! Bravo, he really enjoyed to play it.
I can't imagine an instrument that requires a masters degree to play and two ph.d titles to maintain.
European Organ Tour. Episode 7.Starring: Jonathan Scott as an organist and music arranger.Direction/script/camera and sound by Tom Scott. You two make my Sunday really ☀ sunny. Thanks.
You are not a musician, You are the entire orchestra!!!
you were the 2,000th comment
Always good to see a Master Craftsman at work! Especially if you can't even whistle.
I can't walk and chew gum at the same time. This astounds me and greatly increases my appreciation of all organists.
wow, all i could think of was him just skipping down the street happy as could be, then finding out how he has not enough hands. that was awesome*actual definition
This performance is full of the dizzying amazing feeling
Love the tone in this piece.
Good to hear those big pipes sing and be complimented by those moods and higher tones.
Well done sir. Well done indeed
I've always loved this song ever since I was about eight years but I have never seen it played on an instrument and this is amazing
thats one sexy instrument right there and i just love the trueness of it's sound even though my headphones don't do it justice. to be there in person to feel the sound inside just would be (chefs kiss)
Even though I'm learning guitar, I've always wanted to learn how to play the organ. The sheer size and different sounds the instrument can make have always drawn me to the organ.
