The judge basically admitted that the only reason he got a harsher sentence was because of political power. She is showing all of us that there is a ruling class of elites that are more important than everyone else. This disgust me.

The Federal government takes a really dim view of threats to politicians, judges, and their families. Personally, I totally see their point. It is hard to do your job if you fear some whacko attacking your or your family, simply for doing your job. If you don't like a politician, vote for someone else. Death threats and attempts have no place in a democracy.

That’s nice. A repeat offender ran over my son on his motorcycle. Leaving him in the road with a broken back. He is now anparaplegic with no feeling or control from the chest down. The repeat offender got 8 years with possible parole after 3years. My son wasn’t a prominent figure, just a regular human being. Greenville SC 2:07

The person who hit your son did not target him. Intent has everything to do with how the offender is punished. That's the way it is. My motorcycle was totaled by the results of the other person's negligence. I wasn't hurt so he didn't get punished. Pure luck for both of us. It's not fair.

If something like this happened to your local shopkeeper the perpetrator would likely get probation especially if there’s no previous criminal history. So there’s something about this sentence that’s strikingly different.
