I'm not too sure on the current market price for bikes right now. Definitely check it out and see if it runs and rides normal first tho. In the winter my bike will sit for about 2 months. I'll try to start it up at least once in the middle of winter. But if it's been maintained well, it should be fine. Just might need an oil change

Yeah I see that. It wasn't really dirt in the road. More of just stained dirt color on the payment. The actual dirt was much closer to the edge of the road. Camera angle throws it off. But the tires weren't that close to the edge
Both bikes are great, the 2017 R6 is slower, because of emission regulations, although with the same engine. The straigh pipe with no muffler is a big no for me, it sounds like shit. I have a 2015 R6 and its great, all i ever wanted. You both need to practice your drag pulls.
Yeah full straight pipe is too loud for my taste. Seems like bikes have reached a plateau. I wouldn't sell mine to get a newer one. Such little benefits.
I've got a 2012 that's flashed in tuned for the full system that I guess you could call a straight pipe and I think it sounds tits
Do these have fuel indicator?
No! I just go based on miles!
How many miles can you go after your fuel light turns on?
2012 R6 FTW! (little biased since that what I had ^^)
Oh nice! Love these bikes for sure!
2007 best looking r6 ever.
Amazing bike for sure! Still looks brand new I think
I started on a Ninja 300 for like a year then got a R3 for two years now I want a 2006-2010 R6
That’s a good step up! The R6 is a great bike! I’ve owned mine 5 years and still love it!
old r6 shifts up too early...
What do you mean?
At 7:58 , if he'd push the gears a bit higher , he would have won that little race because he shifts around 12k and peak hp is at 14,5k rpm
@@Ganix16V Only so much we wanted to do on public roads..
@@BrosFOURRSpeed okok i thought it was some kind of serious performance test or Versus
@@Ganix16V I mean we were doing a pull, but not trying to go insanely fast on this road. It got the point across.
I’m sorry but that’s NOT how you upshift. Not to mention both of you are gassing it while pulling in the clutch😬😫 most people just aren’t meant to have any type of manual. Only time you up shift with a clutch is in a car! Even then if you know a car you don’t even need to in a car as well but it’s advised. Also not too big of a deal on a bike but when downshifting try learning how to rev match. In a car either shift to neutral or you should definitely be rev-matching if your downshifting
Just trying to shift quick for the video, we grew up riding and know how to shift, but it happens at some point to everyone.
hey, I’m looking at a 2016 r6 w/ a power commander and other stuff for $7k, it has 15k miles and hasn’t been rode in 3 months..would this be a good buy or do you think it has issues? Thanks!
I'm not too sure on the current market price for bikes right now. But I'd have a good mechanic or bike shop do a once over on the bike to check out the condition if you're not comfortable with doing a mechanical inspection yourself. Definitely check it out and see if it runs and rides normal first tho. In the winter my bike will sit for about 2 months. I'll try to start it up at least once in the middle of winter. But if it's been maintained well, it should be fine. Just might need an oil change
@@BrosFOURRSpeed would there be a problem if the power commander was improperly done? And thanks for the fast response I really appreciate it.
That’s crazy if you can find anything 2013 or newer for less than 9k
I’m looking to buy a used r6 2006 with 60,000km what’s a reasonable price candian?
Just see what others are going for in your area with the same mileage
If u had the cash would u buy the new r6 over other 600cc
I would stick with the R6 just because I grew up riding Yamaha bikes. Always wanted one! But I wouldn't say no to a Ducati sport bike!
Try riding the suzuki gsxr600
Its pretty good
My friend has the gxsr750 and thats pretty fun! Very fast bike! If ever sell my bike tho, and R1 would be next
Nice
I'm planning on buying a 2008 r6 but I'm not really sure of their reliability
There is a big difference between the 2006 & 2007 models and the 2008 to 2016 models.
Yeah technically there are. But when it comes to riding them. It's just not crazy different. I wouldnt spend another $5k to get the newer bike just to get some more low-end power and traction control. I feel like sport bikes can only get so good. And there wasn't much room for improvement in the last decade
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yeah agree, the new one is crazy expensive where I live. You are better of just buying a used older model and upgrade it. I even saw a 2008 R6 for sale but with the 2019 fairings, still cheaper lol
For sure. I wish I had the 08 fairings since it was much sharper. But as a whole these are so good in the mountains and on track, there's no reason to spend the money on the latest one. Whenever I do sell mine, I'll buy an R1. But go for another used one for sure
what exhaust is on the new R6???
Just an ebay slip on pipe. No muffler lol
@@BrosFOURRSpeed well sounds amazing but reminds me of the akrapovic megaphone
whats the name on ebay?..would love to try it out as an alternative
@@2WMoses probably similar
@@2WMoses amzn.to/3KnHv5V
Should be similar to this!
new looks old model
old looks new model
I think the color helps a lot. Blue always looks good on these bikes!
old R6 has nice Styling..the new looks like it got inspiration from H2🤨 with the looks.
Yeah I can see that a bit
What’s your dream bike 🏍
The R6 ;)
I have the 06 in blue and 09 rave would like to get the 20 version.... Nice rsexxys
Ride safe
Very cool! Riding bikes can be addictive!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed
Yess sir...
Ride safe brah.
God bless
For sure you too!
The new front end makes the bike look like it has DS.
It may not be everyone’s taste, but it’s a fun bike!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Im probably just biased out of nostalgia having owned an 06. Super sad that I had to sell it a few years back, loved the R6. Even sadder knowing that Yamaha has discontinued it. It was a fun 600 to just wind out.
Would pick the old one over the new, plus the old one is raw without extra electronics..
I agree. I can't see spending twice as much just to get a bit more power down low. Love my bike!
Idk now I feel like if u get a R6 it has to be a new 1
Just depends on your budget and which bike you like better.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed think I’m falling for gsx 750 ngl honestly rate it above a r6
Great bikes! My friend has one and loves it!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed yea there great I can’t legally ride mine yet we’re getting there
Hopefully soon then! Fun bike!
I have a thundercat online its a 50/50 thing where people call them r6s ik their not but thay are a 600cc yahama i do love mine so comfertable an being my first bike plenty of power
They are nice bikes! I’ve heard either way is fine!
Old is waaaaay better looking ! Idk what yamaha was thinking with the new look smdh
I certainly love the look of mine. But new looks super sleek too in my opinion
@BrosFOURRSpeed Yeah, it's not that bad. I just didn't like that the new r1 and r6 look identical. I've seen some that look alright, but I don't think I would purchase any new yamaha any time soon. The next bike is definitely an older r6 for me😁
I just bought my first R6 2012 model and had one owner I am the second owner the story behind the bike the older gentleman that bought the bike bought it on an Impulse Buy from the dealer cash out right rode it home parked it never rode it again the gentleman passed away 6 months ago from a heart attack the gentleman's wife posted it on Craigslist for $1,200 needless to say it was only up 5 minutes I had contacted her and told her if she held it I give her two grand for it so as we speak I have a 2012 or one sitting in my garage with 46 miles on it I got it extremely lucky not my first motorcycle but it's my first sports bike I've been riding cruisers for the past 6 years and now I'm wondering it's a fairings on a newer generation will fit on the older generation
OM that's insane! What a deal for sure. You could sell that for top dollar if you wanted. They might fit, but not sure.
Definitly the old!
Why?
Old r6❤❤
Yeah my bike was a blast! But the better torque and handling is quite nice on the new one. Not worth price the price tho
New Yamaha R6 Dash is not cool
Seems fine. I don't mind my bikes either
My dream bike is r6
But its discontinued 🙄🙄🙄 saddddd
Yeah the R7 is taking it's place. But you can still buy a used one. I bought mine used and still love it so much!
Theres a shit ton of them used lmao u will keep finding these bikes even in 2050 😂
@@R1___ Probably!
no quick-shifting? 😤
These bikes don’t have that feature, so no.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed clutchless upshifting works on like every motorcycle, but you should definitely get some quick shifters on those! 🤩
@@matthew_cramer yeah I’ve done that before. But honestly not my favorite thing to do. Can really only do it slowly. Rather just use the clutch. I’m not racing so I have no need for that

Today was another bike vid!
@@BrosFOURRSpeedMay i ask you? In term of seat width of R6, old vs new which is wider? The narrower it seat the longer to reach (tip toe)
im gonna pick up a cbr600f4 this weekend with only 14k km's for 1800 euro's
Sweet! Should be some fun!
Doesn’t the 2008 generation have more HP? So generally it’s better
More horsepower doesn’t equate to being better! There’s a lot more features that go into that!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed You’re not wrong. Of course things will improve in time, so logically, the newer generations can always one-up its older brother with further R&D. The older Gen with more HP, paired with its aftermarket support can compete against its younger counterparts and it’s why I like it better (mainly the looks.) But a 2021 R6 with GYTR specs, is pretty hard to beat 🤣🤣🤣 the R6 is just an all-around badass, every generation puts into perspective the versatility of the 600cc. Yamaha did things correctly.
My god that dude riding on the 3rd gen r6 is trash at riding
Missing a shift once doesn’t make the rider trash, everyone misses a shift now and then, it’s no big deal. Been riding and racing since I was 7, it happens. And I don’t ride that bike often since it’s not mine, had to get used to it some.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Bro we aren't talking about missing "a" shift. You do realize that the power is up top and you're shifting like 4k+ below the redline? Also, you are wayyy overdoing the throttle blip between shifts. Without even looking at revs, just listening to the shifts, it's hot garbage. I mean I appreciate the idea of the vid and the production quality, but what was supposed to be the climax of the video just fell flat with the mediocre runs.
wish I could afford either one lol
lol just keep working towards it! My R6 was $4,600. You can do it!
2022 R6 am I missing something because the reason I bought the ZX6R was because the R6 is donezo if they are infact making a 22 R6 that's street legal I want to know more. Or this was just click bait? Well played
Yeah I didn't know the 2022 R6 was a track only bike. I changed it to 2021 since thats the last road bike. Cool to see the R7 taking over!
I hope you've since learned how to clutchless upshift 🙂
I can do that, but honestly prefer not to
No point in even putting a slip on exhaust if you don’t do full headers with a tune
It sounds better at least. Nothing wrong with spending very little money and having your bike sound more desirable. My bike has a midpipe and slip on. I love how it sounds. Stock doesn't sound all too goo
@@BrosFOURRSpeed That’s what ghetto peoples do. If your not gonna do it right then don’t do it
Enjoy your bike
How are you going to compare power and short shift the actual piss out of both bikes😂
We got up to around 13-14K, they redline at 15-16, so we were up in that range.
The new bike handles alot better in the apex of the turn.
Yeah you can definitely feel that. I mentioned that in the video
I love my 2020 so much lol
I bet! Definitely a great bike!
07 over New. Could Have Had R7 New. But Went with 07 With 17000 miles.
Yeah I love my bike! Heres a video I did comparing it to the new R7. Not even a comparison honestly. R7 is a sporty MT07. Not a race bike anymore. ua-cam.com/video/pRD5KhWUdiE/v-deo.html
The older bike looks a lot better
I do love my 07!
It’s the same frame, same motor
Basically the same bike
Yeah you just get better tuned suspension and more low end torque. Not worth spending twice the money tho
B mode for track bruv read your manual
Well it's not my bike, I don't have a manual. But you can use B mode on the roads too. Why wouldn't you? It's fun to use the track mode. Bike is more fun that way
You don't count what gear your in when you ride? I always know what gear I in I never look at the indicator
Ok…I know what gear I’m in…but it’s nice to have an indicator.
Uhmmm…. Should have started the bike and let it warm up a little bit longer before reving it that high.. all the oil you need won’t be everywhere it need to be to not slip. Correct me if I’m wrong. But yeah always been told that. Even for vehicles. Unless you had those bikes warmed up before hand. So I can’t say if they were being cold started. Cold starting revs are bad lol anyways I’m babbling. Need more knowledge if anyone would like to correct me 🤷🏼♂️
Bikes were already warmed up. Each were driven quite a ways to this spot to film.
Old r6 top speed
Yeah I love the top end on the older R6!
I'm sorry but I've watched a few of your videos now and your upshifts always hurt me on a deep level. You really gotta practice that sh!t man. Let off the throttle don't just leave it maxed if you're gonna ur not gonna quick shift
It's not going to hurt the bike, but when I shift quick for videos, it always comes across like that, and not when I ride normally. Still on the stock clutch with 35k miles.
fhonestly, that "belive or not" is super offensive
What?
08 and 09 fastest because of air box
Oh thats cool
