Dont let off the throttle when shifting with the quickshifter. Thats just clutchless upshifting, using energy and inertia from the gearbox. Thats not activating the quickshifter. Keep the throttle open
It is not installed yet. He has it but wanted to see if it works with the GP shift before installing it, so right now the bike has normal shifting with no quickshifter. He just upshifted clutchlessly
Yeah, because you've never been to the track. If you do go, you'd have 250s and 300s passing you. Then you'd realize why 600s are popular. Your opinion only shows how little you know, so consider that before posting, Geovani.
rustler08 You're assuming I don't track the 1199 or that I don't have involvement in the motorcycle (daily or track) industry. Further more, this R6 isn't being ridden on the track, nor does it sound the owner has that intent for it, nor is this UA-camr a track guy. So, although I appreciate your comment, it doesn't change my opinion. Same old engine with a face lift and that is neither opinion, or disputable.
rustler08 What? How do you know he's not a competent track rider? This guy is a street rider anyway, 600's suck on the street thanks to them having no bottom end. What's the point of riding a bike on public roads that needs to be wrung out to high hell to do anything? Go ride a KTM 1290 and you'll never want to ride another super sport on the road again, torque is fun on the road, not a high strung race bike.
I want so bad to give you a hard time for forgetting to put the images in with the sound effects, but I been there too many times to do it. lol Carry on with that sexy bike sir.
Yeah... Those 90s 250cc and 400cc 4 cylinder supersports that would rev to infinity and sound like a V12 formula car. What beautiful machines! Too bad most of them are just rust buckets now to even get one used :( I rode a ZXR400 once in my life and it was one of the most epic sounding bikes I ever heard in person! Way slower than modern bikes but it sounde so good that you'd feel like going at the speed of light
Those who question why you got an R6 have never ridden one lol I am in love with my 2007 R6. Such power, style, handling, and wild powerband. It feels like riding a stallion below 13k rpms, then suddenly turns into a crazed bull at the later ranges. I am dying to own the new 2017, so we'll see what happens haha
Motonosity ! no you'll get a liter naked bike like I did when you get older and you'll be more comfortable and still have awesome power and handling similar to a supersport😉👍🏻
Agree mate, I can't afford the bikes I would like to get, but I am working towards it, school full time, work full time, on the down side I have no time to enjoy life.
He said that the Daytona 675 was out of his budget when he bought the R1. It makes me happy to know that he can have pretty much what ever bike that he wants now. Hard work does pay off, especially if you have 3.5 motorcycles
Damn i'm so jelly. Been looking into getting another R6 since I sold my 2003 and these ones just look like my style! Can't wait to see more vids of this bike.
I think a lot of people who complain that the motor wasn't changed forget that Yamaha builds the R6 with the track in mind over street use. Lap times are often made quicker with better handling and braking power. The motor was already ample for what it needed to achieve in the 600cc class and people liked it so there was no need to change it and risk screwing up what already worked for them.
I love my new R6 after owning 2 R1's! Congrats on the new purchase. I also am one of the the pre order buyers of the R6 so I did get the qs but it's not what I imagined. It does not shift seamlessly while holding the throttle down. I have to let up on the throttle then shift.
I got a bunch of shit from my non track friends going from a s1000rr to a r6, but honestly all of the liter bike crowd on street that had no track time didn't understand how much bike was wasted on street in daily commuting or spirited rides. granted i still use my rsv4 RF for commuting here and there since it is a beast for power but the 600 is still a fun bike to take to twisties and commute. Either way congrats on the r6 enjoy your bike, and see you at Cota!
I love how your vids showcase how beautiful the central texas/austin area is... but then again I don't because I don't want anyone else moving here lol, keep it up dude!
The R6 is such a beautiful bike and is an icon. I ride a 2007 R6S that I re-built and I truly love the bike; however, I'm picking up a new one soon(ish). Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one...
About to go out and buy one myself :D Had a 2009 R1 and definitely don't need a liter bike for my daily commute to work. Looking forward to this sexy beast
I love how the video titled "Why I got the 2017 yamaha r6", spends 7 minutes explaining past videos and not actually going over why you purchased the 600.....
That's an awesome bike man, I am the same way as you. I had a 600 upgraded to a liter bike, which I LOVE, now I want a 600 again also! Maybe one day! Enjoy the bike!
I was in the market for this exact Motorcycle..I was even planning to put a deposit on once they released it I could be on of the first ones to get on but the dealership I went thru didn't want to work with me regarding the down payment and monthly payment so I just walked away....its a beautiful bike be safe out there man
Looked into the 2017 R6 shifter when you mentioned it yesterday, and was surprised to see they're using a long-lever shifter on it from the factory, but there's already kits for it to swap it for GP-shift etc. So far I've seen people just drill and tap a hole half-way up the lever and just moved the joint there to get the GP shift, or just buy the 2015 R1 levers that already have it.. saw the guys at SportbikeTrackGear had a video on one of those that fit that's straight from the R1 with the GP-shift hole on it
I think you're making it more complicated than it is. With the R1 and R6, to switch to GP shift all you have to do is flip the shift rod. No drilling or anything. Unless I misunderstood what you were talking about.
Nonono the actual lever on the 2015 R1 has a hole you just need to tap to make it GP-shift, you just move the actual rod there once it's tapped (it's literally made for it). A hole so the connector doesn't have to be flipped. I tweeted you a pic from SportbikeTrackGear's video with the R1 lever back when the bike was so new it didn't have any kits available. Much quicker to just buy a cheap R1 lever and tap it, than having to wait for aftermarket sets. R6's problem is you can flip the thing. ..or just watch: /watch?v=iCOJfd1GtAs
Actually.. let me rephrase that simpler. 2017 R6 doesn't have the room to just flip the rod (hence why people are saying you can't with it's quick-shifter), but it has almost the same shifter-lever as the 2015 R1, but it's missing the GP-shift hope the R1 has. If you tap said hole on the R1 shifter, you don't need to flip the rod. You just move the rod's connection to the lever back and it'll be reversed. Simply put; R1 lever has a hole made for moving the rod to it once said hole is tapped, for GP-shift. R6 has the same lever WITHOUT the hole. Would need to see some proper up-close HD shots of the lever to know for sure if it's possible like people are saying it should be. But dunno, the fairings might be in the way even
I hate when people say a liter bikes are way too much for the street... I look at them and say EVERY super sport is way too much for the street, so who cares! Get what makes you feel good, that why you get them in the first place. Congrats on the new bike! :D You should look into an adventure bike next for your build series (BMW GS800/1200 Triumph Tiger/explorer)
Motonosity not sure that you really need to justify it is your money but you know I have had all kinds of bikes over the past 20 years of riding and I must say that riding a slow bike fast is WAY more fun then riding a fast bike slow. have fun I love the new R6 tho it would have been nice if they gave it the new dash, Enjoy the bike I look forward to see the build process
man motonosity im happy you got that bike.. i ordered mine here in canada back in November of 2016 and they havent shipped ours yet ...yamaha Canada delayed ours till may ughhhh...slightly jealous at you
I love the new bike! Also have to say that the links to your other videos aren't popping up on Mobile. I hear the noise but nothing pops up. Just a heads up. Love the vids Moto, keep it up man!!!
So many people need to go ride 675R and an RSV4... You want light and bike that flicks as soon as you even think about it. Those two bikes are just top shelf. I spent some time with a new r6 though, they are definitely way better than the older ones. In my opinion though it's still not better than the Daytona. Nice bike though they look amazing.
The kleb is only 2% of the population that understand meerkats when they are foraging for leaves off the famous moth tree. I just created a true story of why motonosity stole a bike cycler.
2017 R6 is 20 LBS lighter then the 2017 R1 and that isn't a game changer...... It's easier to ride because it has less horsepower (less gyroscopic force) which means less stress on anything you do.... This R6 is best looking new bike on the planet I wish I had one myself!
I'm 37. I showed my wife your video in hopes she would agree on me buying this r6 lol. She said I should buy the new r1 instead, but I don't ride as much as I used to and I don't wanna pay all that money and let it sit.
I know people may cry at my questions, but 1. is it a good starter bike for someone who's a little older so not as reckless? 2. I'm a short rider, so is there a good way to lower it?
Imo it’s not a good candidate for a starter bike, the power can get you into some serious trouble. However, if you understand that when you get above 8-10k rpm the bike will turn into a rocket ship, it can be done. Also, the ergos are very aggressive so it can be tough on your back compared to other bikes. So overall I’d say there’s better bikes to learn on, but it can be done if you’re responsible, ride within your limit, understand the powerband, and practice practice practice.
I have to say I plan on getting a 2017/18 r6 as soon as I am financially able. I mean I like the older r6 but damn the new one just looks so freaking good. I like the blue but hope to see maybe some red for the 2018 year model.
I understand that's why I have two scooters one is a 400 burgman I take on long trips and the other one is a zuma 125 just to mess around on short scenic trips in the city both are different rides. Enjoy your bike great video
r1, forks, aluminum tank -3lbs, bigger front axle, same body as r1 abs, track control, 8mm slimmer on front of seat and added a lil to keep from sliding forward and smashing your balls.
I kept guessing R6 before you got the Ruckster. I agree that the power of a 1000 is addictive. But Rossi is the caliber of rider who can really wring all the power difference out of one! ☮️
Just got to ride my buddy's 2012 R1, it was the 1st liter bike I've actually tried to ride fast... So much power on demand, it's a different beast than my R6 entirely. My R6 is so much more forgiving and flickable. I'd be scared to try and get a knee down on the 2012 R1 I rode. I wonder what the 2015+ R1 is like to ride
Hey moto. I was the guy you were arguing with on Twitter about the 600cc being a starter bike. I'm not here to argue about that just thought i'd let you know lol. But no i agree with the GP shift. I had it on my Gsxr600 and my R1. And then i got my fireblade and it has a quick shifter on it and i can't switch it to GP. It sucks GP shift was the shit.
I understand what you're going through. People question me out the ass about my choice of bikes. "What? You're so young why are you riding that big and heavy cruiser?"
Have the 11 R6 and 05 ZX10R. 10R is more comfortable so better for riding long distances, revs lower at 110kph, more power. R6 is better handling. 10R still handles pretty good though. Its wet weight is only 7 kgs more! Also when riding the R6 now it almost feels slow so I am way more confident on it. Still need to respect its power though :o)
The honda cbr1000rr for 2017 weigh's 432lbs, the yamaha r1 weigh's 439lbs, suzuki gsxr1000/r weigh's 445lbs and the kawasaki zx10r weigh's 454lbs. The Honda cbr1000rr is the lightest litre bike. If I had the money I would buy a new litre bike because they are now getting in the weighs of 600cc bikes, have power modes, got gyro abs (kawasaki does not have it though), they don't waste gas anymore and are more comfy than the old litre bikes (mainly the honda cbr1000rr and gsxr1000/r)
Totally I understand the fall back to R6, though I was expecting and guessing a Ninja H2. For the street 600 perfect, in India where I am from, I would go even down to 400 for daily ride!
"Because I like it"
15 minute video done in one sentence.
Izo Azlion thanks dude
Dont let off the throttle when shifting with the quickshifter. Thats just clutchless upshifting, using energy and inertia from the gearbox. Thats not activating the quickshifter. Keep the throttle open
pretty sure he said the quick shifter isn't installed yet
It is not installed yet. He has it but wanted to see if it works with the GP shift before installing it, so right now the bike has normal shifting with no quickshifter. He just upshifted clutchlessly
Above comments are correct. Not installed yet :)
the r6 is fucking beautiful man
bikes are getting uglier every year like zx6r 2006 was the best, R1s till 2009 was better and gsxrs......
Guys..the s1000rr is the best
Thanks a lot dude!
Motonosity hey man I was wondering if you have road the r1 back to back to the r6, and if so what are your thoughts on it?
UnsungThermidor Agreed! I hated the r1 until this new model came out & the sexiest bikes back in the day were, Gsxr = not busa, Ducati's.
Can it run Crysis?
Where did you come from :D
@Maxi Maier im fuckin dead right now lmfao best comment ever
Maxi Maier linustechtips
Yes, but be careful it can't run minesweeper at more then 6fps
It has a GTX480 so should be good
"Why would you buy an R6"
-People who have not owned an R6
I dunno, I had an 03 R6 as a first bike, moved on to a 08 CBR 1000, to a BMW R9T and 13 Panigale 1199... and I'd never go back to any 600, or an R6.
Yeah, because you've never been to the track. If you do go, you'd have 250s and 300s passing you. Then you'd realize why 600s are popular.

I want so bad to give you a hard time for forgetting to put the images in with the sound effects, but I been there too many times to do it. lol Carry on with that sexy bike sir.
+chaseontwowheels dude I know. I've been away from home since the video published and haven't had a chance to add them 😭
I wish a motorcycle company would make a 20k revving bike again. I miss those
Yeah... Those 90s 250cc and 400cc 4 cylinder supersports that would rev to infinity and sound like a V12 formula car. What beautiful machines! Too bad most of them are just rust buckets now to even get one used :(

Agreed, I own a 91 cbr250rr, never fails to draw attention even for such a small bike :)
Josh Lewis lol twisted throttles bikes before it blew
I have a 93 zxr250 :o)
NinjaKat in japan, they sold those 250's in excellent condition, the lowest mileage i saw was below 15k km
Those who question why you got an R6 have never ridden one lol I am in love with my 2007 R6. Such power, style, handling, and wild powerband. 46 yrs old and still love rideing super sports.
Thank goodness haha. I'm sure one day I'll be all about that Goldwing life tho :P
Motonosity ! no you'll get a liter naked bike like I did when you get older and you'll be more comfortable and still have awesome power and handling similar to a supersport😉👍🏻
Redline passed that mark a long time ago !! You got some catching up to do Jeff !! lol
He can only be as old as he is
you don't have to be a certain age to ride sport bikes
I completely understand about the launch year. Picked up a 2017 Grom, ended up with the first one off of the showroom floor in my city. Love the R6!!
@Motonosity I'm in love with the new r6 look. I got a 2013 r6 and I couldn't think of getting rid of her.
Anyone else think that, that bike needs a after market exhaust system 😂😂
Everybody haha
Motonosity goo with Akrapovič
No, not really.
go with sc projects if your neighbours dont mind
Akrapovic always looks good on Yamaha R bikes.
I wish I had as much money as these guys
start a build series lol
justin way gets you nowhere haha 😆
Rob Tyler - You mean advertisers?
Yamaha FanBoy Then do something about it instead of posting comments on UA-cam. It's up to YOU to get the things you want in life.
Agree mate, I can't afford the bikes I would like to get, but I am working towards it, school full time, work full time, on the down side I have no time to enjoy life.
Such a beautiful place to cruise. Look at the colour of that sky! Not a cloud in sight!
What a nice bike. I love Yamaha's new design of the R6! You don't have to explain to us why you got it! Just enjoy it man!
He said that the Daytona 675 was out of his budget when he bought the R1. It makes me happy to know that he can have pretty much what ever bike that he wants now. Hard work does pay off, especially if you have 3.5 motorcycles

The new R6 is so sexy! Stoked you'll be working on this bike!
I love my new R6 after owning 2 R1's! Congrats on the new purchase. I also am one of the the pre order buyers of the R6 so I did get the qs but it's not what I imagined. It does not shift seamlessly while holding the throttle down. I have to let up on the throttle then shift.
Love the new bike man! Loved my 2007 R6. I'll have to test ride one of these new ones! The older ones felt bulky so I'm excited on the body changes
very well said.. i just ordered a leftover 2017 in the white and matte silver yesterday!!! Now I just have to wait a few days.
Yamaha dude! Also just got my R3 like 3 weeks ago! Cool videos bro! Ride safe out there motonosity! Will be turning on your notifications from now on!
I love how your vids showcase how beautiful the central texas/austin area is... but then again I don't because I don't want anyone else moving here lol, keep it up dude!
don't change the color, that's the best color bike you have.
Good on you m8 :) the new r6/1s are so dope! Happy for you Motonosity.
The R6 is such a beautiful bike and is an icon. I ride a 2007 R6S that I re-built and I truly love the bike; however, I'm picking up a new one soon(ish). Looking forward to seeing what you do with this one...
Watching this in 360p, and I ain't even mad. Motonosity's content is *fire emoji*
Parth Patel 🔥🔥🔥
About to go out and buy one myself :D Had a 2009 R1 and definitely don't need a liter bike for my daily commute to work. Looking forward to this sexy beast

+Mikael S-P Thanks man!
LOVE THE R6. LOVE MOTONOSITY. KEEP IT UP!!!!!!
I'm 39 and about to get my first bike. Based on your videos it might be the R6. I hope I'm not too late to the game. Cheers!
Tyler Harris Haha . No. I ended up getting a Gsxr750 :). And then a year later a Ducati Multistrada 😁

Because they are gorgeous machines. Got the white and gray, they are definitely a head turner +Motonosity
I just rode this bike yesterday. it was absolutely amazing. so fast and smooth!
Fairplay to you mate, a lovely bike. The best looking 600 on the market in my opinion.
I'd have to agree ;)
I totally agree with u. The 600cc is so much fun entering the corners than the 1000cc. I just upgraded to a liter. I can see the difference.
You getting the R6 brought me back to your channel, no offense brother. Can't wait to see the progression
Congrats on your new R6! 👍
Coming from someone who has driven both those cars I can completely relate man that was a great analogy
When you're ready to do a comparison video let me know. I have a 2016 stock R6 and I'm right up 183.
You realise with a quickshifter you don't have to cut the throttle out to change gear.... It does that for you. That's the point of it.
Usual Suspect He said it's not installed yet
UA-cam know it alls be like.....
Ogre Doug Yeah lol haha GG Bro check my videos out xoxoxo
Usual Suspect Where you from?
Ogre Doug England dude. Essex way.
man motonosity im happy you got that bike.. i ordered mine here in canada back in November of 2016 and they havent shipped ours yet ...yamaha Canada delayed ours till may ughhhh...slightly jealous at you
The 2017 R6 looks spectacular in my opinion
Love the new r6, you should keep it blue !
I love the new bike! Also have to say that the links to your other videos aren't popping up on Mobile. I hear the noise but nothing pops up. Just a heads up. Love the vids Moto, keep it up man!!!

Omg cant whait for the build series with this one 🔥👌
I would disagree on many areas that the R6 is the best 600cc bike... At least they finally updated it though.
Have fun!
It's because barbecue rainbows are made of Atlantic jellyfish, and they smell like Frisbee...that's why. True story.

Just buy what u like ~ Always supports u and know u r good at choosing the suitable one for yourself.
That R6 is BEAST Moto! Yamaha is KING. Wise choice! I may trade my 2008 R6 for one. Or a Daytona Triumph 675r
Thank you. You just make me to go and get an R6, hopefully next month. Thanks again.
Brah I am jealous that R6 looks BEAUTIFUL
I'm 37. I showed my wife your video in hopes she would agree on me buying this r6 lol. She said I should buy the new r1 instead, but I don't ride as much as I used to and I don't wanna pay all that money and let it sit.

ill tell you why you bought it, cus you secretly wanna date walter :D
Can't resist the beard.
Motonosity Hey man I'm from Houston. I bought a 16 R1 about a month ago and I've been dying to go to Austin... let's ride this weekend??
Motonosity it's understandable ;)
Mmm perfect, everything is answered. THANK YOU MOTONOSITY YOU"RE GREAT
You should still try the 675R and let us know what you think about it.
Gorgeous upgrade bruh!
Edit:
Swear the bubble noise in the video, was broskie pinning my comment😞
hey I really feel you should do something to make the R6 more louder it's so quiet that it feels like a 300cc bike. this bike deserves more
you said "R6" over 9000 times not even kidding, love your content :)
r1, forks, aluminum tank -3lbs, bigger front axle, same body as r1 abs, track control, 8mm slimmer on front of seat and added a lil to keep from sliding forward and smashing your balls.
I kept guessing R6 before you got the Ruckster. I agree that the power of a 1000 is addictive. But Rossi is the caliber of rider who can really wring all the power difference out of one! ☮️
So it's not as new as yours......
But I may have picked up an 05 r6 today 😁
2017 model looks incredible mate, I'm glad you love it
I loved the old headlight design of the last generation R6 but that is stunning. I can't wait for the toce exhaust install 😂
lovely R6! keep up the good work 👍
I plan on getting a 09 or 10 r6 when the warm weather is back
Just got to ride my buddy's 2012 R1, it was the 1st liter bike I've actually tried to ride fast... So much power on demand, it's a different beast than my R6 entirely. My R6 is so much more forgiving and flickable. I'd be scared to try and get a knee down on the 2012 R1 I rode. I wonder what the 2015+ R1 is like to ride
Can't wait for the mods soon.
It sucks GP shift was the shit.
keep these daily videos comin
I understand what you're going through. People question me out the ass about my choice of bikes. "What? You're so young why are you riding that big and heavy cruiser?"
Have the 11 R6 and 05 ZX10R. 10R is more comfortable so better for riding long distances, revs lower at 110kph, more power. R6 is better handling. 10R still handles pretty good though. Its wet weight is only 7 kgs more! Also when riding the R6 now it almost feels slow so I am way more confident on it. Still need to respect its power though :o)
GP shift works, i done it in 2016 R1. it's a push quick shifter so you have to move the the shift link in the hole closer to the foot peg
+Cristian Guerra On the R1, yes. On the R6, no.
Just watched a 24 minute 45 second ad for you. I just gave you enough ad view to buy myself a fricken R6 for myself
The bike sounds really smooth
"I'd have to wait presumably 10 years for another redesign"
2 Years later gets redesigned again.
RIP
Well, now you have the perfect size for a track bike. You'll learn a lot more on the track with a 600 vs 1000
What are your thoughts about the MV Agusta F3? Also are you thinking about a different brand for the 1000cc update if you choose to do so?
Today I was riding this r6 in GTA San Andreas super cool. 🎮🎮🎮
love it. kinda hope you stick with the blue theme to shake it up.
i'm glad you got the r6
I ride the new r1 in my videos and I feel like you perfectly described the difference between a 1000 and a 600
Totally I understand the fall back to R6, though I was expecting and guessing a Ninja H2. For the street 600 perfect, in India where I am from, I would go even down to 400 for daily ride!
