- To celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Countach LP 400 S that starred in the movie “The Cannonball Run” we reunited Adrienne Barbeau and Tara Buckman, the two actresses who won the film’s titular race, for the first time since the movie’s release on 19 June 1981.
The scenes from this cult movie became such a legendary reference among car lovers that the Countach became one of the very few vehicles registered at the Library of Congress, one of the most respected institutions in the United States.
Take a seat and enjoy the video.

i love your cars ❤❤
You cant even clear a movie clip?
****************/*//*/*/Hello automaker company! I have an invention --- CVT transmission for trucks and buses and sport cars. Do you want to buy? About the price: I want to have 1000,000,000 EUROS. One brilliant idea can change the world for the better. You can buy my invention by dividing a billion euros between several companies. For example, ZF, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Scania, Man, Rolls Royce, Bugatti, Ferrari, Aston Martin ,Borg Warner ,Aisin,Toyota, Nissan ,Ford, General Motors, Stellantis, AvtoVAZ oh NO NO AvtoVAZ NO
The levels of hotness between these two women & that car as a kid , you have no idea
i have 🤘😇👍
I REMEMBER!! You're 100% correct ... nothing today compares does it
your hairy palms give it away
Oh I have an idea. They were amazing!
They dripped hotness I was about 11 or 12 when it came out but after their scene I matured quick lol
Love to see a car company give The Cannonball Run acknowledgement! ❤
🎉
I’m sure that movie sold a lot of Lamborghini’s! Difficult to buy that kind of advertising especially when the movie was such a hit.
That is pretty cool. Often companies are skittish about tying themselves to other products. I seem to remember the old man was not a fan of air spoilers either, and the movie car has them front and back, lol.
@@guyforlogos a little known fact is that when this movie was made Lamborghini was on the verge of bankruptcy as the world was in the 1979 oil crisis and a recession when eh movie debuted it actually promoted the Countach so much so that orders actually increased a bit after the movie thus allowing Lamborghini to rise from the ashes!
When I saw Adrienne Barbeau in Swamp Thing, I put away my bicycle, my toys and my childhood. A man was born.
🤣😂🤣😂
Dad sat me down to watch Cannonball Run when I was 5. Nothing was the same after that.
Me too :) I was 5 like you ;)
We were all at that perfect impressionable age looking upon some of the best stuff in life
He was a Good Man❤🎉
Probably the most beautiful car ever created by Lamborghini
By Marcello Gandini....
@@torinesetorinese4551 He was an automotive design Genius.
100%
Not even close
I dunno, the Mura is a brilliant.. but i do love the Countach...
Thats it, time for a rewatch.
I remember seeing this movie in the theater with my dad in 1981...and yes, the two girls in the Lamborghini Countach was amazing and I'll never forget it!
The only other vehicle l liked in that movie, was the 1-ton GMC pickup truck.
Yo MJR - I love your channel man!

I met both of these lovely ladies and they autographed my 55 MPH Speed Limit sign.
WOW how lucky you are !!!!
Oh wow, what a joy to see the two hot ladies and the legendary Canonball Countach again! Presented by Lamborghini itself! The opening scene always gives you goosebumps when you hear the screaming twelve-cylinder engine.
I saw the Lamborghini Countach for the first time in a tiny showroom in my hometown of Düsseldorf at the end of the 1970s and was and still I am in love with the Countach. The hottest car ever on wheels. As beautiful as the new Lamborghinis are, they are also fast and modern. But, no other car can match the original Countach design and engine sound. Thank you for this beautiful memory!
Though I was never fortunate enough to own a legendary Lamborghini, I was fortunate enough to meet Adrienne in-person and discuss the car with her and like the car she's equally amazing!
Lamborghini inspires dreams that can come true!
What a great reunion!!!! Love it.
Thanks Lamborghini, to this day its still my favourite beginning to a movie, and its great to see these lovely ladies again. Shame this video was so short.
This scene became an iconic and defining moment of everyone born in the 80s, I saw it in the early 90s where the movie re-run frequently. The staggering fact about the Countach is not only the way it looks, but how it was relevant for more than 30 years. These two ladies have been the fever dream for many young lads (I was too young to understand the implications), however props to Lambo staff to acknowledge the significance, this movie actually still has.
I was 9 years old when Cannonball Run came out. That scene introduced me to the Lamborghini and with those two ladies (especially Adrienne's part) made me fall in love with the Countach. The Lamborghini has since been my favorite vehicle that I sadly will never own.
Even at 79-Years-Old Adrienne Barbeau still glows! 1:01 She is 12 years older than Tara Buckman.
THE LADY IN BLONDE WHITE SHE PLAYED ON ROLLERCOASTER 1977
THE ROCKET
One of the best all time opening scenes in a movie. The sound of that Lamborghini Countach is still amazing to this day! The car and the beautiful ladies have all aged well. 😊 Looking good!
That was well done. No bs, nice ladies and well spoken. Pro.
The opening song and footage still gives me goosebumps. 🏴
WOW, I Love this Lamborghini Countach and it’s always a Legend!
When I was a kid myself and my best friend were absolute car nuts. We'd watch Cannonball run 1&2 over and over again.
Oh wow! Yes the car was great but together with these two loveley women it stepped up to another level.
Had a lot of laughs watching the movie and never forgot any of the 3 models. Good to see them re-united once again! Love from the Netherlands!
Love this! Best opening of a movie... stole my soul, still have this movie on DVD
The car and those two women have always been every guys fantasy. All 3 are beautiful and timeless. ❤
A gentleman in my hometown bought that original car, and a friend of mine restored the car back to the original color of first movie. They used this car in multiple movies and it had been painted about four or five different colors. He contacted Lamborghini and got the original paint they used that year and leather for the seats. Got to ride in it after it was restored, very loud, very brutal car. A huge grin on my face the whole time, the gentleman that owned the car died a few years later and I never found out where the car ended up.
There was a documentary on the car . I think it was a few hours long. The has been restored to its original. I think the guy lives in California. The guy who owns Hawaiian tropical suntan lotion was the second owner. The one who owns it now is currently the 3rd owner.
@@ShelbyR19 I got to see the car up close when it was getting paintwork in St Augustine at Diamond Jim's .I believe Ron Rice ,owner of Hawaiian Tropic, still owned the car at that time. I got to sit in it and hear it rev a few times. A memory I'll always cherish !
Your right he did own but he sold it. The special came out a few years ago. It’s about the cannonball itself and Hal Needem is in it too.
A gentleman in Orlando Florida owns it and it comes out at shows.
@@ShelbyR19the documentary is amazing. I had to rewatch Cannonball afterwards
Saw it in a movie theater. Back when that was a thing. The car and the galz were just next level. Still are :) Thanks for the share. At the time, there were no lambos in the states. It was from another planet. The front spoiler? The rear intakes? The mega exhaust? Nothing like that existed. It started the legend that continues to this day.
The front "spoiler" is actually a bumper.
Amazing that most of the cast is now sadly gone. Not only are these two still alive but they look great!
i saw this on VHS tape back in the early 80's as a kid. i remember because we watched this and "the blues brothers". And "cannonball run" is one of my favorite movies of all time. The all star cast was beautiful. Unfortunately, most of them have left this earth. Jackie Chan and Terry Bradshaw are still with us.
Bravo Lamborghini for taking time to make this special tribute! Great stuff
Absolutely awesome to see them with the car as a young teen at the time it was an epic movie for me
The countach has always been my favorite Lamborghini!! I was one of the kids growing up that had multiple posters hanging in his room ❤❤
This is well overdue
I can’t count enough times I watched that movie ❤
You know its like the inernet is a timeline once something trends a certain year it never does again in the future years, and the video's views remain constant. It feels good to be introduced to new content that comes from old content and archives. Just needs an A.I remastering
As a pubescent youth, I definitely didn't spend time alone "meditating" watching those two on VHS 😅
The car that made me fall in love with four wheels. The Countach was, still is, the one I'd chose over any other. Cannonball Run's opening scene with this car, its engine sound, the score, was genius and still works today. Thank you Lamborghini.
Such a Beautiful Iconic Car
Absolutely right, that opening sequence is iconic. 🔥🎬📽
Wonderful! Nice to see the two coolest ladies of their time again!
I was 17 yrs old arriving fresh in America and seeing the movie on cable TV with the legendary Countach was WOW! What a spaceship on ground! Well my late father was in love with his most favorite dream car the Ferrari 308GTB from Magnum PI. Now I own and drive my modern spaceship on ground the Aventador 50th Anniversario in gorgeous Giallo Maggio with over 800HP tuned 😍
Watched this with the kids again last week, had them rolling on the ground in stitches. My son always talks about the opening scene. At 14 he appears to be more interested in the car, but speaking for myself, it was a great scene on all fronts... This car hasn't aged at all and Adrienne and Tara still look as lovely as ever!
Im 53 and i can proudly say i watch the Cannonball every summer. One of the best memories i have with my mom was going to see The Cannonball Run 😂 ✌️
Legendary Countach, great movie 👍
Cannonball Run literally drove My Dream Car the Countach right into My Living Room. I not only wanted to own it and drive it like in the movie, but I wanted to be with Adrienne and Tara...I started driving at 9, and every day after, trying to become the Ultimate Racecar Driver.. I waited on my license soo long I forgot about it... My Permit came at 28 and License at 35; making a Precise as a Robot ..💯 on the Test. I still wanna buy a Countach, still want to be with Adrienne and Tara...3 Big Dreams yet to be fulfilled. Much Love Thank You Lamborghini.. Happy Birthday Countach LP400S...😁👍👏🤗🤗🤗💜💜💜
Old school classic car movie! Fantastic video Lamborghini!
I remember my dad got me a VHS of this movie when I was about seven years old. I watched it over and over and over. I loved this movie so much.
In 1981 I was in love with this 3 ladies!! They are/were beautiful!!
What a great reunion! Childhood memories
The Countach is the first car l ever fell in love with ❤
I don't know anyone that hasn't had a poster of that Lamborghini on thier wall.
One of the best openings with a car ever.
Wow I love that.
And the Countach is still incredible and unique thanks to the unique angle of its side window, giving it a look that no other car will have.
I was born in Oct 19th 1971 in Paris so I can tell you when I was in primary school and I saw that UFO in magazines, it immediately fell in love.
Something I love since I really saw it, is the back shape, there are only rear lights that make the rear side, with absolute beauty.
No other car has this design.
And the girls from the movie, are still charming. 😊
The definition of a perfect combination!!
This is amazing! I've never see a car company do something like this!
Such iconic movie, cast and cars.
This Lamborghini hosted a bevy of unique features not commonly seen in other Lamborghini's of the time. Most noticeable feature's being the front wing and the 12-tip exhaust pipes. There are several more unique features of this particular movie model that would make a fun video of its own.
I like the dual K40 whips. 😉 Anyone from the time, well, '80's for sure, ought to recognize those.
Best movie intro ever! Second Best, Cannonball Run II
These two women and that car defined everything I loved about my childhood, Lamborghini and femininity
They are still beautiful after all these years. The car looks good too. Thank you ladies for making that car famous... and for a very happy childhood.
I'm as old as this car!!! Just made my day.
One of the funniest classics out there.
That IS the actual countach. It was brought by a private buyer and went through an extensive restoration programme a while ago. Makes me happy it's still on the road. There's a documentary on YT about it all
Loved this movie back in the day. The opening scene was classic. Looking good ladies!!
A MOVIE THAT DOESN'T GET ENOUGH AIRTIME!!!! I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS MOVIE SINCE THE MID 80'S!!!!
Iconic then and still is a piece of art. Still looks fresh and ageless
That’s a timeless beauty of an automobile.
One of the most iconic opening scenes in movie history
What do you do when you done it all? BALL!!! Best intro ever...... 10 years old and seen it at the theater...
Lamborghini 🇮🇹 . Cannonball run 👍❤️
Fantastic tribute to all 3.
Born in 77, and these two ladies are one of my first memories. I knew from that day forward, what I was put on this planet for.
I love this car, this movie, these ladies. All still amazing.
When this movie came out I was living in some projects and some way or another they got a copy of it and played it at a make shift outdoor theater and ALL the kids were out there watching it. Man thats a good memory.
One of the best films and cast EVER!
iconic scene that put car on wordwide stage
I was born in 1978. This car is one of the first cars that I can remember from my childhood that I absolutely loved. This, the black Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit and the General Lee are my “Big 3” from my childhood.
Now that was a proper film opening sequence , back in the day
Hell this movie came out a year before I was born and it's one of my favourites. Sincerely, an Aussie
This is officially great!
OMG...I love this movie! What a great scene!!
I’d love to see Lamborghini officially do the cannonball run themselves!
Gotta get my kids to watch this. I loved Cannon Ball Run. Star studded comedy. 🎉😂
They both still look beautiful :)
I met Adrienne Barbeau at a horror convention two years ago. I told her that although I enjoyed her in other movies (she was hilarious in Creepshow), my favorite role of hers was in Cannonball Run. I had her sign my DVD of Cannonball Run, and she was very flattered. She's surprisingly short and was wearing those same snakeskin boots seen in the video! I asked if she ever got to drive the Lamborghini for real, and she said they let her drive it across a parking lot. She had to put a block of wood under her foot to reach the pedal, which she mentions in this video. Great stuff!
The engine powering the 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP400S was a V 12Vee-Type (3929 cc | 239.8 cu in. | 3.9 L.) with 375 BHP (276 KW) @ 8000 RPM and 268 Ft-Lbs (363 NM) @ 5000 RPM. Mild by today's standards
Iconic in my childhood that car those actresses and that movie. Ray Stevens sang the opening song.
This is fantastic! My dad worked with Adrienne on "Maude". Props to Lamborghini for this :) Also, went to the Lambo museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Emilia-Romagna, Italy a couple of months ago. Seeing the legendary models up close is definitely worth it.
Awesome movie! Great Lamborghini intro. All star cast too.
The scream of that engine is something I could have listened to all day. I was a kid when I first saw it, and I still remember it today, and always will
This is wonderful nostalgia. Thank you.👍🏻
It's still the most beautiful car ever produced, light years ahead of it's time.
Canonball run was one of my favorite movies growing up. The car was amazing as was the girls. That movie made me fall in love with that car.
One of my favorite movies ever.
..best movie as a child ..the starting was gold a Lamborghini the music the 2 ladies a trans am police car 😮
Agree. The best opening of any film, especially with the Ray Davis soundtrack. It just worked - ! 😅
And with Adrienne Barbeau, nuff said - ! ❤
I drove my Countach every day back in high school. And drove it, and drove it, and drove it.
It was GREAT to see them again!!!
Great movie, they are right. Great opening for a movie. Amazing car!
Race On!
I had such a mad crush on Tara Buckman when I was a kid. I watched Cannonball Run countless times...especially the beginning. This is so awesome seeing them together again!!
It's great to see that they are still enjoying the fun from a great film 😎
I would love to see another Cannonball Run movie in the future! With a Lamborghini as the poster car!
this was sweet. wish more companies would do stuff like this
Cannonball run opening scenes, best movie start of all times & 4 ever !! 😍
the moment @ the beginning when she first shifts up & then back down & let the Countach flow in the sunrise .....
Goosebumps 🔊😍🔊😍🔊😍
