I just noticed something. Out of all the places John Wick could be shot, he got shot in the shoulder and in lower-right belly. Which is precisely where John himself shot the Doctor in JW3, ensuring that those are non-lethal injuries
I’m not gonna lie, though that villain had the best suit I’ve ever seen in any villain ever. He was really stylin throughout this whole movie, especially with the red suit.
John cannot kill Cain. If not for Cain's help, John would have stopped at the stairs and be pronounced failing in the duel because of not showing up by the sunrise. In this case, Cain can go home to meet his daughter, Winston can order the best coffin for himself and John as well. The duel was arranged so John could bleed himself to death in a very slow pace, so that this inexperience lad could come forward to finish him off ASAP. And the rest became obvious. With such arrangement, it saved John, Caine and Winston.

it really wasn't. All the time wick took to take that shot, the kid would have absolutely blasted him off the face of the earth. It was so slow I almost fell asleep. One of the worst scenes. Oh and don't come at me with the "he was injured" we saw wick react much faster when he was injured. Also the movie is sooo damn long my god. And the stairs scene was straight up annoying after 2 minutes. All in all I'd say one of the worst John wick movies

Actually this and that were separate. The blood debt with Vigo was settled. Both him and his son were killed so that settled it. This entire scenario right here was bc of Santino. Santino used a blood marker to make John kill his sister who was accepted as a member of the high table. John refused, he blew his house up and everything that represented John's happiness with his life. John fulfilled the Marker with the death of Santinos sister. Santino sent killers after John to avenge his sisters death, and then Santino himself basically provoked John into killing him on continental grounds. But yeah, this was bc of an arrogant child that didn't take no for an answer.

He had one guy who wanted to duel 🤺. with him so Lincoln agreed but since that guy challenged Lincoln, then Lincoln got to set the rules and everything about the duel, and the guy could then either agree or not, but if he agreed, and that meant to do it was on, so Lincoln, being a huge guy had it set up as a sword fight and then he had it set where it took place on an island in each of them bring a guy out there, but on their way to the island each one of them had to be the ones to row the boat and Lincoln, being much bigger and stronger than this guy knew that that would take a physical toll on his opponent, & that’s why he picked it to happen at the island …. & another part of rules was tht they were on this island and they had to draw a line in the sand on each of their sides, so many feet apart & they could not cross their line on their side or the oppt side and each guy’s foot could not cross that line & Lincoln put that rule in there, due to the other guy being much smaller, cuz he could not reach Lincoln with the sword like Lincoln could reach him, and don’t forget that Lincoln was a champion in wrestling growing up and so the guy once they got to the island, the guy ended up checking out of the duel & forfeited, and after winning the duel by a forfeit and Lincoln, being a jokester, Abe went back in the canoe from the island to the shore where his wife was, and he had the guy with him help him play a practical joke by Lincoln telling him you Row the boat ashore I’m gonna hang on your back or hang in the boat like I’m dead and then his wife was going hysterical and then Lincoln got to shore and said jumped up & basically said I gotcha
It's ironic that a franchise built on cool, choreographed fight scenes ended with a duel. It's like the antithesis of modern action films which build slow end in huge CGI messes. That's why I love these movies so much. They are much more than bang bang gunfu

Fun fact: you're wrong. The first 3 films were all based on light novel-ideas the scriptwriters did. They, however, didn't get where they wanted in 3, and so they asked if they got to slap a story together for that and build an entire movie off the original ending of the trilogy. And all of them were glad to do it, the studio even was fine since they asked for a lower budget for 4 then 3 and thus, what would've been 3 films and done, became four. Telling one complete story that, when the first film was released, wasn't planned since they didn't think it would sell well enough. But of course, you think it got milked despite having a beginning, and an end that flow properly, along with countless statements from everyone involved that they just loved doing action movies with their friends (hell the director got his favorite talents together JUST for this movie, have you SEEN it's cast?! Even if the marquis was able to kill John wick, he would’ve lost. The next round of shots can’t commence until both sides have fired their weapon. Since John didn’t fire his bullet yet, the marquis would’ve been disgraced for breaking the rules of the duel.

Even if they’re all killers and assassins, “Rules… without them, we live with the animals.” And no one’s above the rules when it comes to the high table.

The Marquis should have waited for John to either shoot and miss, or pass out. By taking Caine's gun and interrupting the duel he became the champion (Caine is his nominated champion) and thus John got to shoot him. The only strange rule is that the Marquis stated the second dies with the duelist, yet the Harbinger doesn't tell Caine he is to die.

@Tezunegari Glad someone mentioned this. I am Italian not Slavic(k), but I was made aware of the lore surrounding Baba Yaga and can never forget her. That is why when they called John Wick by her name it never sounded right. One year when we decorated our house for Halloween we had one of the ugliest and scariest witches in our yard. I instantly called her Baba Yaga because she actually looked like her in my perception of the old hag...so why John Wick got that moniker, I never heard enough explanation...did I miss it? Cause I didn't get it the first time. I thought everything happened was fair play. Heck the Marquis even sent a lot of his goons and hired more people to interfere with John Wick as he makes his way to the dueling spot and yet the judge didn't even say anything to the Marquis interference
Also love that they both know the Marquis is so arrogant that he'll want the final shot for himself. Which gives Caine the chance to ensure he is free of the high table completely by declaration and his daughter. It's fortunate that Wick and Caine know each other so well.
In case you weren't aware, he was not allowed to fire his shot because Wick hadn't shot yet. The rules state both must fire their shot before they can reload and fire again.
The way he falls after the head shot, exact representation of how a body moves back a bit because of the force of the bullet and then hits the ground. Amazing. I don't think I've seen this in any other movie. Like to know if there are any.

He had one guy who wanted to duel 🤺. with him so Lincoln agreed but since that guy challenged Lincoln, then Lincoln got to set the rules and everything about the duel, and the guy could then either agree or not, but if he agreed, and that meant to do it was on, so Lincoln, being a huge guy had it set up as a sword fight and then he had it set where it took place on an island in each of them bring a guy out there, but on their way to the island each one of them had to be the ones to row the boat and Lincoln, being much bigger and stronger than this guy knew that that would take a physical toll on his opponent, & that’s why he picked it to happen at the island …. & another part of rules was tht they were on this island and they had to draw a line in the sand on each of their sides, so many feet apart & they could not cross their line on their side or the oppt side and each guy’s foot could not cross that line & Lincoln put that rule in there, due to the other guy being much smaller, cuz he could not reach Lincoln with the sword like Lincoln could reach him, and don’t forget that Lincoln was a champion in wrestling growing up and so the guy once they got to the island, the guy ended up checking out of the duel & forfeited, and after winning the duel by a forfeit and Lincoln, being a jokester, Abe went back in the canoe from the island to the shore where his wife was, and he had the guy with him help him play a practical joke by Lincoln telling him you Row the boat ashore I’m gonna hang on your back or hang in the boat like I’m dead and then his wife was going hysterical and then Lincoln got to shore and said jumped up & basically said I gotcha

It's ironic that a franchise built on cool, choreographed fight scenes ended with a duel. It's like the antithesis of modern action films which build slow end in huge CGI messes. That's why I love these movies so much. They are much more than bang bang gunfu

Fun fact: you're wrong. The first 3 films were all based on light novel-ideas the scriptwriters did. They, however, didn't get where they wanted in 3, and so they asked if they got to slap a story together for that and build an entire movie off the original ending of the trilogy. And all of them were glad to do it, the studio even was fine since they asked for a lower budget for 4 then 3 and thus, what would've been 3 films and done, became four. Telling one complete story that, when the first film was released, wasn't planned since they didn't think it would sell well enough. But of course, you think it got milked despite having a beginning, and an end that flow properly, along with countless statements from everyone involved that they just loved doing action movies with their friends (hell the director got his favorite talents together JUST for this movie, have you SEEN it's cast?! It's just all the old school players having fun together in a huge play house.)If you ACTUALLY think the director just makes movies for cash, you seriously know nothing about the industry, or how making movies works.@@TerranMonarch

Even if the marquis was able to kill John wick, he would’ve lost. The next round of shots can’t commence until both sides have fired their weapon.
Since John didn’t fire his bullet yet, the marquis would’ve been disgraced for breaking the rules of the duel.
But both John and the Marqius agreed to no quarter when establishing the terms of the duel. Wouldn't that have changed the rules a little bit?

Even if they’re all killers and assassins, “Rules… without them, we live with the animals.” And no one’s above the rules when it comes to the high table.
@@sentainerd3219 no quarter means that you cannot simply surrender to save your life. The duel has to end in a fatal blow. It also means you cannot give your opponent mercy or negotiation.
The Marquis should have waited for John to either shoot and miss, or pass out. By taking Caine's gun and interrupting the duel he became the champion (Caine is his nominated champion) and thus John got to shoot him. The only strange rule is that the Marquis stated the second dies with the duelist, yet the Harbinger doesn't tell Caine he is to die.
@@SantomPh No one, including the Harbinger, had any interest at all in killing Caine. Everyone was quite happy to be done with this mess and go back to bussines.

@Tezunegari Glad someone mentioned this. I am Italian not Slavic(k), but I was made aware of the lore surrounding Baba Yaga and can never forget her. That is why when they called John Wick by her name it never sounded right. One year when we decorated our house for Halloween we had one of the ugliest and scariest witches in our yard. I instantly called her Baba Yaga because she actually looked like her in my perception of the old hag...so why John Wick got that moniker, I never heard enough explanation...did I miss it?

Also love that they both know the Marquis is so arrogant that he'll want the final shot for himself. Which gives Caine the chance to ensure he is free of the high table completely by declaration and his daughter. It's fortunate that Wick and Caine know each other so well.
So nice of him to pause long enough for John to get that line in before being killed.
In case you weren't aware, he was not allowed to fire his shot because Wick hadn't shot yet. The rules state both must fire their shot before they can reload and fire again.
