what a lousy judoka , meet a black belt with competition experience , its easy to laugh against this poor brown belt . meet yoshida would subbmited royce gracie , or the judoka kimura destrying helio gracie .
"Unfortunately Alex has a crazy sleeper build.." 🤣 it's always the guys with the sleeper builds that have me questioning myself.
Surprisingly strong guy! Must be the reason he got a takedown 😜
@@TylerSpangler Judo guys are built diffferent, one second you are working on stand-up game, the other second you are looking at the ceiling lol. Great Vids man!
Love the rolls all done in fun to challenge each other much respect to both
I’m a 25 year experienced judo black belt /6x national judo champion I’ll roll with you :D
Never thought Tyler himself would be the target of Infinitely-growing-weight commentary. Great job bulking up my man!
I won’t stop till I’m Gordon weight
Jiu jitsu doesn't work if you just get up and walk away
Just wanted to say thanks. Some of your insights on guillotine have helped me pull 3 guillotines in a row on a white belt. It was funny and fun.
The only guy with his own face on his chest that should be taken seriously !!! LOL Well done man!
Nice scraps. Judokas always trying to enter other styles of grappling to test themselves. I think it'd be nice to see you spar against someone who's a competitive Judo player (one with USA backpatche gi) or enter an actual Judo tournament and do the black belt division, see how that goes :)
Nice roll! And obviously great thumbnail and premise
Tyler love the videos!
Need to go against a seasoned Black belt who lives that life this is just a mangling
Love your channel
Thanks for being a fan amigo
On a mat sure, in the street you most likely aren't getting up from the throw 😂
It would hurt indeed
@@TylerSpangler no, it would hurt permanently
3:25 i love the camgirl humble brag! Honestly its smart getting two sources of income wirh her 👏 👏 👏
I love my Manscaped razor…considering using your code to buy it all over again 😉
Free shipping too 😜
that gym is clean!
Very!
I’d like to see you do this with a judoka around the same skill level in their own martial art. Maybe around a sandan
Yeah, apparently he didn't read any of the comments the *last* time. In the USA you can get a brown belt in Judo in 2-3 years. Black belt is usually about 5 years. Has Tyler been training a decade? He needs to find a young, competitive judoka who has been training a decade too.
A Judo brown belt is like a BJJ blue belt.
@@yakovdavidovich7943where are you guys getting judo brown belts in 2-3 years?? I see everybody all over these comments talking about it but never seen it myself and I train judo.
@@2noobs1k well obviously there are some irresponsible teachers out there and in many martial arts who hand out belts left and right while counting money...
@2noobs1k yeah my club treats it more like the BJJ grading system. It took me 6 years to get my brown belt and 9 for black.
@@2noobs1k in the US ikyu, nikyu, and sankyu wear brown belts. It didn't take more than a couple years to get to sankyu. Where I train, shodan is about 5-6 years. We spend a long time at "brown belt".
Putting a judo brown belt (1-3 years) vs. a BJJ black belt (8-10 years+) doesn't seem very fair lol
Not at all 😅
You underestimate his judo and grappling
Go cry about it, tyler also puts himself against people better than him. Its not about fair or unfair its about content
@@lusdaco your sound like you're crying about it my dude. You're angry at an internet observation. 😢
@@1234fakerstreet ill go cry about it then :(
Because u used a sunny clip!
U have a new subscriber lol
Your wrestling is very solid
This is the Cellar! My gym!!!!
One of the big problems I have with these types of matches is how does the other person win if they don’t do jiu-jitsu? Does the judo guy win if he gets a takedown?
I think the Judo guy (Alex) is a bjj purple?
The rules are always in favor of bjj
Edit: accurate title would be BJJ black belt vs BJJ purple belt
1. Your doing a submission only match on mats so all those fancy throws count for nothing, not even points. The throws are basically a glorified standing guard pass at best, once you hit the mat its basically a BJJ black belt vs a BJJ purple belt
2. Judo focuses on the gi where as BJJ has a heavy no gi game. this gives the Judoka another disadvantage
3. Judo ground game is generally trash vs BJJ ground game when considering similar mat times
4. Brown belt in Judo takes 2-3 years to get where as a BJJ brown belt take more like 7 years on average. a Judo brown is not an experienced Judo grade
Just feel like this title is unnecessarily painting Judo in a bad light. The focus on Judo is fighting in a gi which in many parts of the world represents clothing like a coat or jacket etc. in self defense a strong hard throw onto a hard surface will often result in a match being over, and the ground game of Judo focuses on monopolizing on the big throws to do a fast submission if its available or pin. but Judoka really dont spend the time training the ground game like BJJ.
id like to see @Tyler Spangler do a Judo match vs a 2nd or 3rd Dan Judoka under Judo rules
For the record I'm a BJJ purple and a Judo 2nd Dan
have you done judo?
Dunno if I would say blue because at my academy is about 4-6 years but I think what’s true for sure is the levels of judoka is really higher ceiling wise than many other grappling sports. You get Olympic level athletes training judo at a young age and then you have the international state of judo. France Japan and Russia . In comparison the competition pool in BJJ is far smaller
either the judo dojo is a fake one, giving out brown belts after a year or so, or the person doing bjj is so bad that they take 6 or so years to get a brown belt
A bitter judo person as usual. Sorry, bjj is light years ahead of judo in ground grappling. Just humble yourself and learn.
@@user-fb4zo8wd5n they evolve different ways. A judo brownbelt maybe about 2-3 years. While Tyler has done BJJ more than 3 years for sure.
Hi Tyler, I love your videos and it inspired me to start Jiu Jitsu (and I'm over 50...). Just because it was the local club, I started training with Bansai JJ, and It's loads of fun; we stretched, learnt and practiced an arm bar and kimura then rolled - I was exhausted... :) . Do you have any experience with Bansai JJ?
Never tried Bansai, but maybe I’ll give it a shot!
😂😂😂 T-Bag guard 😂😂😂
You should come to Maverick training center in Huntsville al
im gonna try teabag guard guillotine today
@4:35 TAKE THE BICEP SLICER! #BackInTheWomb
Hahaha “Nobody treats me like a 3rd world class citizen”
You should go to the kodokan and see if those guys are still legit. USA Judo is kind of sparse and has a small talent pool. Japanese Judo has a huge talent pool with different interactions with judo (in that many of them have been doing it since elementary school).
Max was here
Tyler says no dude is going to willingly sit in T-bag guard. Aren’t you from MN? There’s plenty in the twin cities that will do this willingly and don’t even train BJJ! 😂
You burned me hahaha. Good one
those guillotines are serious
Bro if he now how to defend headlock he never gonna lose again 😂 dont let that happened 😅
Youve been spangled lol
BJJ = Basically just Judo.
Lots of Washi-slammi-garamis in this video😂
I do both
Nice! I want to get better at footsweeps
@@TylerSpangler definitely make sure you know enough nage-waza and you and your training partners understand ukemis. Nage-waza for those who don’t know are throwing techniques that you would most definitely want to know to set up your foot sweeps(cause foot sweeps are very predictable if not caught off guard) and your ukemis is falling technique so you don’t injure you or your training partner. I think ukemis should be taught once a week in bjj personally as takedowns are aloud in the sport, however a lot of gyms besides the one I go to don’t typically drill ukemis AT ALL!
No one treats me like a 3rd world country citizen lol 😂
I’m too used to the U.S. now
You should compare suchi and pizza to be fair, Not the same rules, not the same game.
try it with a judo black belt
The real question, is can you guillotine a man with no neck?
I have guillotined the headless horseman on WoW
@TylerSpangler But is the headless horseman part of the guillotine instructional that I can buy with the code Spangler for 20% off?
@@Grappler130 message me on IG if you want that discount 🤐
BROOOOOO! I had no idea you knew how to do arm locks. Are you sure the guillotine gods are ok with that?
It’s a sacrifice I had to make to appeal to the masses
why black belt BJJ and brown belt judo??
He’s the best judo guy I can find
@@TylerSpanglerhow long has the guy done Judo ?
@@ryansmith9138 from the looks of it, about 6 months.
Dude. No one is as good as you. Everyone gets humbled bro. You are the absolute best. You can beat anyone. THANK YOU FOR HUMBLING EVERYONE! GOD you are so good.
You forgot to mention that his father is the strongest of all fathers too... 😉
the word "humble" has no meaning in bjj
Come on, 15 years old tennager can get judo brown belt. And you are bjj black belt, this isn't fair. Find someone with judo 5 dan and go spar him
I called it cheating. There are 3 of him. 2 on the front and one on the back.
Wonderful assessment
Well if you played judo alone you would probably lose
5:47 - I've recently been thinking a lot about the art of putting your head in inconvenient spots for your opponent.
Why isn't this judoka guy using footsweeps?? I get all of the higher level belts with foot sweeps and to set up my throws.
OSS
OSS mate
Thats nogi and not judo. 😆 Second, I think alla judokas are individuals like any other athlete, I dont think you can win all your opponents of judokas so therefore its illogical to say Judo cant win.
"judo can't win" ... puts brown belt vs bjj black belt ... no shit ... and bjj clowns keep wondering why they're not being taken seriously
Are you ducking Jordan teaches Jiu Jitsu??
I don’t live in Canada haha
@@TylerSpangler I wanna see you guys throw down. Feel like that would be a fire matchup and video idea if you guys can link. You must have rolled before that time when you were on vacation or whatever. How did that go ?
easy to tap yourself on the back by challenging grapplers from other styles you know beforehand are beneath you ... not unlike Mikey snowflake Musumeci who only calls out people he can beat and certainly no different from Pedro Sauer and the Gracies who cherrypicked non-grapplers to fight against them in the early UFCs, the Lance Batchelor fight and the Gracie "Challenges"
jiu jitsu people with their bjj biased clickbait video titles
