I noticed in the last video how much better Pearl was looking. I'm so impressed with how you look after each and every horse with heart and head, giving them what they need - knowing when to include the vet, and keeping track of their issues and their progress. I love mama Pearl. Whether she has a short time or a long time, she has fallen in a soft place to land.
I am not sure to ask this..CC,Do you know anything about her baby? It is nice to see 3 weeks of better for Pearl..and some concerns. Wonderful Pearl likes being outside...do you have a camera to see what she does at night time? If you have one no need to share just summarize? I am glad to hear your words you can take her on walks. I was surprised that she reacted to her tail.. stayed close to her body and didn't want her mouth checked on...hope her hooves can feel better soon when you can . Praying for your wellness and wellbeing..CC...♡
@@carolwright7503 That's kind of normal..... I'm sure you wouldn't want someone lifting your "tall/skirt" ? Horses are really sensative animals & believe it or not, I have found they don't like the negative energy that comes off of cellphone !!
From being bred to exhaustion and being dumped at the auction, Pearl knows she can finally relax now. Hoping she doesn't have too many health issues. Looking forward to seeing her true personality when she feels better.
Me too! Reproduction is hard work. Then comes raising the offspring. It never ends! And I don’t know how some people manage to previous offspring while reproducing repeatedly. Hats off to those folks, they have way more stamina than I do! So glad sweet Pearl finally gets to actually rest.
Yeah, it would be hard not getting to snuggle him, but it IS pretty great to watch him prance around when he’s feeling fresh and just watch his general shenanigans.
As an elderly senior, I completely understand pretty Pearls dilemmas, stiffness, sore hooves, distended belly and love eating. I am super glad you choose her and welcomed her into a warm home. As a caretaker your number one.thank you so much😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Poor Pearl ... Glad you didn't take this time. They bred her until they bred her dry. 25 yr old mares should be retired by 20. Then given pasture retirement. She did her job.. glad she has landed softly.
Most people who love horses know little about their care. You have taught so many of us so much. Thank you for showing so much love to those who have been shown little to none.
So nice to see a horse have security and care. They don't ask for much from us and sadly so many are used and discarded. So lovely to see one relax in a safe place. She will never be hungry again.
As a trial attorney, I've grown accustomed to people making humorous remarks, like wanting to commit a minor offense just to have me as their lawyer. I've learned to recognize the lighthearted and endearing tone behind these comments, and I appreciate the affection that comes with them. Lately, I found myself thinking that it would be wonderful to be a horse in CC's care. On a lighter note, who wouldn't want to be pampered by her? In all seriousness, CC's horses are truly blessed to have found a loving home with her. She cares for them with the devotion of a mother, attending to every detail, from hangnails to flea bites. God bless you, CC, for your kindness and compassion.
I love that you didn't even have to catch Frisco Bill up. He just happily followed his girls into the barn and headed right for his stall ...where dinner waited
I wanted to share with you all that horses can live pretty long lives. I had the opportunity to train for English Equestrian years ago on a 43 year old mare. She was 17 hands high. At the time, she was older than I was and not retired yet. Yes, it's pretty rare to live that long, but it can happen. Pearl, if relatively healthy can live a long life with the right love and care. 💜💜💜 She looks so amazing already in just three short weeks. She has the perfect Momma to take care of her.
@Brenda You do realize that a 43 year old horse is an exception and *not* the rule. Most horses can live into their thirties, but will have some arthritis or other impediments. My own horse, a Thoroughbred, only lived to twenty six before she had to be put down due to health issues. I've noticed many Thoroughbreds only make it to about twenty-five....
That's amazing that a horse over 40 was still rideable! I knew a 41 yr old, retired school horse, but although he was given constant hay and sweetfeed (don't know that was the best choice, probably should have been on some senior rations) He died at 41 but could not have been ridden for many yrs previous.
One of the horses (she was about 17 hands high she was huge) I used to ride when I was a child and take out on trails was I think 34 years old. (she was 32-34 years old). She was in excellent condition.
Truth! But he also has the double advantage of having CC caring for him all his life! That makes a difference. It’s so fun to see his cute little old man hops when he’s frolicking with Prim. ❤️
The sweetest moment for me in this video was seeing what CC mentioned about how Pearly Girl would risk leaving her food to go stand with her. If Pearl could talk she would be saying with this behavior, “ I trust you, I’m grateful, and I’m starting to love you, CC”.
I think Pearl has realized that it's pretty nice to have a Mom rather than to be the Mom for a change! Let her spend the winter months resting on the couch with some netflix, and she'll be a different horse come Spring! There is so much difference already, in her body, and especially in her eyes!
I found your videos about a month ago and have enjoyed them immensely. It’s been a life long wish of mine to own my own horse. I just had my 73rd birthday so the chance of that happening at this time in my life is slim. Watching you care for horses gives me a lot of pleasure, you are amazing. I feel like you are a friend I have never met. Best wishes to you and Pearl.😮
Prim and Frisco Bill really have an amazing Repor with one another. She seems to help keep him young and plays with him. She also looks very satisfied, safe, and happy to be with him too. Just 2 very happy horses they couldn't have asked for a better life!
Gosh, I hope she pulls through this and comes out absolutely fine. She seems so sweet! Thank you rescuing her and blessing her life with love and kindness ❤
Sweet Pearl looks so much better! I love that you are taking care of her. Her eyes are so bright now and her cute little ears perk right up to you. ❤️. Such a sweet horse who just wants to be loved, and you’re doing that! She opens the gate, huh? You may have some fun surprises in your future when she gets bsck to full sass levels. Love watching Frisco Bill and Prim play. Made me inordinately happy. Bill with his little hops! Tiny’s little paw prints everywhere are cute too. What a good kitty not to scratch up the seat! And how nice of her to let you use HER turdmobile whenever you want! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ your work. 👍
Pearl looks tremendously better! Well done! How adorable it was to see Frisco Bill “kicking” up his heels. Precious, each and every one, including you.
She was used up and discarded to whatever fate awaited her, and no one cared, except our CC. She is such a lucky old gal to have ended up here! She looks so much better now, with some light in her eyes, alert and interested in her surroundings, and, of course, in her guardian angel. ❤ She's attached to you already. What a stark and sad contrast between Frisco bill and Pearl.
CC, even if your care for Pearl is not exciting, remember that she's soaking up all your attention and care along with her food. I think you are healing her mind as well as her body. So even if you find some fatal problem, you have already given her so much.
It is so nice to see Pearl doing better. She looks so sweet natured, but obviously she is clever, too, if she has already learned how to operate the gate. 😄❤
I'm surprised Pearl didn't sleep the last 3 weeks...she was so worn out. Pearl is finally home...and that's where her heart is going to stay. Isn't Prim extraordinarily beautiful...now wonder why Frisco is still trying to kick up a heel or two!!! Good thing the weather is holding off and giving CC the opportunity to work with Pearl...her beautiful little gem.
I love Frisco' s little bunny hops 😂 All the kids are looking wonderful! Pearl looks more happy with her situation. Can't wait to see her upcoming walks.
I am very surprised (and delighted) just how much Pearl's body condition has improved in just 21 days as a direct result of your care and attention to detail and in collaboration with your vet. I think that you have every reason to feel most proud about the improvement we can all see.
Frisco Bill's little "bucks" are so cute for an old man! What's with Prim and her tail today? Is she trying to convince you she's an Arabian? Or is she in heat? Pearl looks so much happier than when you brought her home. Too bad you can't really pack her feet, to take the sting of the trim out. Barefoot and outdoors, it probably wouldn't stay in the hoof long enough to help, Unless you vet wrapped it in maybe. It impresses me every video, how much you know about horses. I had never heard of an enterolith! But also worked with pampered hunter/jumpers and thoroughbreds on the track, so their diets were always properly controlled. My horsy days are over (unfortunately) but I learn so much from you, love your channel! ❤
It’s so cute that Pearl has figured out how to open her gate. What a smart girl! She is thriving under your care CC. Have to add that Prim and Frisco Bill kickin’ up their heels is so adorable! Happy, happy horses.
I think she's stunned by you allowing her to say no. Especially with people lifting her tail, I bet you reading and allowing her desires is much appreciated. She doesn't seem like the type to consistently push back for long. You've totally won her over already but she's still feeling out the situation. I'm glad you're so kind and patient with them. I forget how beautiful Prim's colors are since we don't see her as often! Thank you for putting in the extra effort to film to give us wonderful afternoon joy!
Miss Pearl has taken a serious liking to you CC, and clearly shows her trust in you. Miss Pearl looks so much better with the refeeding technique you employed. ❤❤❤
“Purly Gurly” is already lookin so much healthier than a few weeks ago, so I can only imagine how she will shine in the coming months. I do wonder if she’s still missing her last foal, but hopefully her personality will come into its own with time and healing, and she’ll be making new and happy memories with her friends now! 👍🏼😊
Mama Pearl looks so much better and you can tell that she loves your company. She seems to be such a patient, affectionate old girl and she's enjoying just being a horse now. You're fantastic, CC! Keep up the fabulous work!
I have never seen any of these things coming out of our European Warmbloods, I am still shell shocked that a Horse carry’s these around in its guts😮 she looks very happy and much better, her legs are not swollen anymore and the fluid under her belly is much better I think…a marvellous recovery for a 26 year old Horse ❤❤❤ Wonderful Work ❤
CC you are an amazing horse mum. I will never understand how people can get rid of their horses like trash. Pearl is sooooo sweet ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you CC!
Enjoyed watching Prim and Frisco Bill capering about, he has an excellent quality of life, and his girlfriend is so FANCY! 🔥😘🍀. Pearl is trying so hard to feel better, and she thinks the world of you. Of course she’s smart enough to escape. ZIGGY adorable in his winter coat , they are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing 🕊️♥️
I'm relieved that Pearl and Ziggy are doing better. Both are such sweethearts! All the horses must be enjoying the milder temps. Maybe not Nigel, LOL! ❤
I've never been so interested in horse poop as I've been since finding CC's channel. Now, in the middle of the night I'm wondering if Pearl is okay and is pooping the entero-thingies! You go Pearl Girl!
it’s weird to say, but your channel brings me so much joy. when i see your videos i get overwhelmed with this feeling of content! i’ve always loved horse and your channel has brought me so much knowledge about things i would have never guessed. it’s truly a blessing on how much you care for these animals ❤
It warms my heart and soul to see how beautifully you care for your gorgeous horses!! Thank you for everything you do, and for sharing your life with us ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
CC, I couldn’t tell the difference. They all looked like rocks to me. As a complete novice, I bow to your knowledge. 😂😂 I’m curious if Pearl, Ziggy and Scarlet would be a good match eventually? The 2 seniors give off a sense of calmness and quiet confidence that might help Scarlet completely settle down in her nature. As I have said, I’m a beginner, but seeing the difference in Scarlet with just being around Ziggy made me feel that they would make a great little herd. Love watching your diligence and care of your babies.
Pearl may have had 2 long term owners but may not have had a lot of attention recently. She knows you are giving her care and attention and her puppy dog following you shows she loves you and is grateful. To her, food is just a bonus when you're around
Fresco bill with his trophy wife🤣🤣🤣 Pearl is looking so much better. In another month no one will ever know how starved she was. Thanks for another great video. It always makes my day💕
It's so encouraging how well Pearl is doing. How her belly swelling was half what it was before with the beet pulp. Thank you for taking us with you on the referring, it's amazing even though Pearl still seems tired, at least we know she's gonna make it. Slower is good.
I think it's safe to say we're all rooting for Pearl. She seems like a very sweet horse who has earned a very good retirement and all the pampering she can stand. Just 3 weeks has made a huge difference and I really hope it continues that way. Really love how Scarlet is coming along now that Ziggy has taught her a few manners. She's going to be an amazing heart horse for someone.
She makes me think of Jesse from Toystory, loved once upon a time but her kid probably grew up and went to college, and now she's just been looking for a new family ever since
Pearl is looking much better. For some reason I instantly really liked her much like Ziggy. We don’t see Prim much but in todays video she just so striking in her appearance. Her youth must keep Frisco Bill on his toes! Tiny is quite the show hog lol 😂
Its been so heartwarming to see you helping mumma Pearl. I feel all tingly knowing shes with you for her retirement and that she'll always be comfortable.😊
My family had a mare like Pearl. Very sweet and safe. She became a Riding for Disabled pony and lived into her 30’s. She was much loved and was a wonderful service animal. Maybe something to think about for Pearl?❤️
@songo You need to be careful when placing a horse with riding therapy groups. The one I volunteered with had no problem sending donated horses to slaughter. You need to consult a lawyer so the horse can come back to you if they can no longer use it. Donating to a therapy group is no guarantee a horse will meet a fitting end.
@@bwenluck9812 I agree. One thing I learned when doing animal rescue is that for many people, a free animal = worthless, and they have no problem dumping them. I think Pearl has put in her time and deserves this retirement.
Thank you and Great Work!! It looks like you live on a movie set! Gorgeous everything! Thank you for helping Pearl. She is a beauty and it is so sweet how she follows you. Pat pats for Tiny!

I totally agree, Pearl needed the CC love n care Ranch.😊👍🙏😇
@triciamoran4996 I do have that feeling of wanting distance of physical space so yes I do understand. Thank You for posting!

I have a feeling, that being pampered is a new experience for Pearl
If it's not entirely new, it does seem to have been a long time ago.
More's the pity, but now she's hit the new life jackpot! 🎉🎉🎉
After Pete and Nigel it must be super nice to have a horse that wants to be with you. Pearl is looking great.
I know, right? It would break my heart every single day to own Nigel and not be allowed to snuggle and shower him with attention, he's so adorable.

Thank you for posting that- I was wondering what age was usual for breeding retirement. 26 seemed quite old to still be having to do that
I think Ziggy is helping Scarlet feel safe. He has all that experience with being around other horses when he did the trail rides.

Pearl has come a long way. Poor girl was shut down being dumped at auction. Watching Frisco Bill hop around with his girlfriend was heartwarming. ❤

That is pretty special for her to come and hang out with you
Yay for Pearly girl. Cant wait to see her true personality once she is 100% and settled in.

It is so nice to see Pearl doing better. She looks so sweet natured, but obviously she is clever, too, if she has already learned how to operate the gate. 😄❤
Its amazing what a bit of grooming and groceries does for a horse
I can't wait for her to be out of quarantine to see what Nigel and Ziggy think of a new mare.❤❤❤
I''m wondering if she and Frisco Bill will be friends. What a great lot of horse characters. Love following along in all their stories.
I was wondering that too. Maybe will like each other and can be a couple of retired geezers together. 😃
She does look so much better. She was so weak you couldnt even look at her hooves with balance issues. Love seeing this.

Pearl is looking so much better, glad she's getting rid of the stones ❤
I was wandering?? Pearl has pro lapse womb, that's why her urine comes out everywhere clever cowgirl love from Australia fiona ❤️ ♥️
WOW Never thought of that !!!
CC learned some background info on Pearl that she has had seven foals! That''ll take a toll on the urinary system for sure!
Hose on a dark tarp in the sun will thaw it out, even in freezing weather. Just a suggestion. (It's why Tiny loves your black tractor seat.)

Pearl is trying so hard to feel better, and she thinks the world of you. Of course she’s smart enough to escape. ZIGGY adorable in his winter coat , they are all so beautiful. Thank you for sharing 🕊️♥️
Prim is such a flirt. 😂 Good to see everyone is doing well.
I'm relieved that Pearl and Ziggy are doing better. Both are such sweethearts! All the horses must be enjoying the milder temps. Maybe not Nigel, LOL! ❤
Pearls eyes are now bright and alert. She knows you saved her, and it shows in how she responds to you. Her future is now much brighter.
It’s a good thing you have Tiny to provide supervision. 😂. It would be hard to get everything done otherwise…
She really looks more alert and engaged, and her posture looks better too.
Even my untrained, don't know anything about horse care, eye can see how much better she is.
Pearl seems like such lovable girl. You can tell that she cares so much about you.❤🐴
Prim ❤ sashaying around Frisco Bill she just loves him
Mama Pearl knows you are loving her. Thank you so much for sharing her journey with us. Pearl got blessed.
She just wants to spend time with you. What an absolute doll!!
Pearl is looking so much better and she is so appreciative of your attention. Prim and Frisco together are adorable.
Her name suits her so well. She is definitely a "Pearl".
Unbelievable how Pearl’s top line has improved. You go girl.
Thank you and Great Work!! It looks like you live on a movie set! Gorgeous everything! Thank you for helping Pearl. She is a beauty and it is so sweet how she follows you. Pat pats for Tiny!
Prim is so pretty. Pearl is lucky to be with you.
I am happy to see that she's eating the beet pulp now and passing more enteroliths. I am so glad to learn about these things! Ugg.
