I held my breath when the vet came to check out your new horse. I am so relieved she is not pregnant and that full attention can be given to her recovery. You are truly an earth angel for rescuing her. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you for rescuing an older horse - so many of them are abandoned past their prime years. She has the kindest eyes, she is so grateful to you , it shows

@@topazzsky you are right about the breeding also people probably shouldn’t breed horses regardless. There’s already enough horses in the world that need loving homes whether there rehomes, auction, privates sales, or rescue. Especially mustangs. Sound or unsound. They all need forever homes. Unfortunately it’s not possible to adopt/ buy/ save every horse. The only thing you can do is don’t breed horses so your not contributing to the problem or if you do breed vow to keep the Foal or twin foals for the rest of its life instead of rehoming it or sending it to an auction when it’s older.
I love this suggestion, but CC said she was able to research the mare's past online. Perhaps she'll decide to keep her old name, whatever that was? Either way, I'm looking forward to the name reveal for this sweet, lovely old girl.

I'm pretty sure this mare and her owner from about 2001 to 2009 or 2010 competed in a lot of AQHA events and did pretty well. Definitely desirable bloodlines. Then she was retired from competition, and a couple of years later, she was sold to be a broodmare, although I have heard of much older horses continuing to compete in reining and other events.
I've been holding my breath, waiting for an update. I'm so happy to breathe a sigh of relief that she isn't pregnant. She is an amazing, sweet horse who deserves to be doted on and pampered.

Over the years I had the opportunity to buy horses on their way to the glue factory, as we used to say. The local dealer for these horses had a soft spot and would call me and my friend to let us know when there was a horse or pony that shouldn’t be sent to slaughter, quite often young unsuccessful race horses, unbroken ponies etc. He was reviled by everyone that had horses for dealing in the meat market but this dealer made sure the horses were well treated, fed, transported properly and the ones that shouldn’t be there were sold to people like me. So we would go to his lot, and take a look and bring them home, paying for them by the pound. It was heartbreaking to see the very ancient crippled ponies and ones with obvious injuries but we didn’t have a lot of money either and could only take ones we thought we could train and sell. All but one of these horses we bought went on to good new homes after retraining and refeeding. Annie, a 4 year old, extremely emaciated racehorse, even worse than your new one, would only be with us for a year. She was super sweet, very easy to train and bloomed with feeding. She became shiny and filled out, a beautiful chestnut with lots of chrome. Then one day, a year later, she wasn’t okay. What can happen to starved horses is their immune system can’t take much and she ended up with a fungal infection in her sinuses, very unusual, and we were unable to beat it. But I know we gave her a much better ending where she was in a big field, cared for and appreciated. It is a huge risk taking on horses in this condition but so worth it. Kudos CC.

I have NOTHING to do with horses, a few months ago i didnt even like them that much. Now look at me, checking every day if CC uploaded a new video, being very addicted to the content. Always love the shananigangs these horses are up to. Im in love with all of them and of course CCs video style.
I am a little bummed she isn't pregnant because I would love to see CC help raise a little one. But, I'm also glad she isn't pregnant because CC will have an easier time getting this old gal into really good shape. I'm looking forward to watching the progression and seeing her improvements.
I've just scared my cat by going woo hoo. On the last video I said she was adorable well I'm now totally in love with her. I just wanna hug her. Here's to many more years of being loved and cared for. She deserves it. Thank you cc for being you. Your big heart and compassion is astounding. Sending big hugs x
Once healthy, she should be a dream to care for. She seems so kind and gentle. I keep saying, "she". I want to call her by a name. She deserves a really special name.
CC, you are exactly what this sweet mare needed. I always wonder what they're thinking when they come home with you. Are they wondering just how in the world their lucky stars aligned? That now they feel safe and loved and no longer hungry? I'm just going to keep thinking that , yes, this is precisely what they're thinking. We all love your sweet new mare, CC! 🐎💜🐎
I'm very relieved she isn't bred-back and expecting. She's got such a soft Mothering energy to her though! I bet she threw some wonderful babies that learned good manners from Momma. Now, she can retire, and this is HER time to just Be.
It's times like this, when you adopt an animal that was clearly mistreated, that I wish it was acceptable to just go and meet the previous owners...I just wanna talk. In any case, she is so lucky that she's with you now, CC! She can get all the love and care she needs now
It is a joy to watch the three amigos in the background as you unloaded the mare off the trailer. I cannot get over how sweet and gentle she seems, and I totally see why you picked her up from auction. Wishing you and this new mare the absolute best.
So relieved to see this update, vet visit is encouraging and so glad that there are not any obvious signs of disease and Mama is gaining strength. She is so sweet, really pulling for her continued recovery 💯
She has obviously made a connection with you already, CC- following you around and greeting you with pricked ears and happy eyes. Paloma would fit well!
The way she follows along just because is so sweet. It's like whereve she's been before, they squeezed every use they had for her out of her and threw her away after her baby was ready. Regardless of what reasons anyone could have, there's no justification. She did not deserve that. She did so deserve to be rescued though and live a good life, however much time she has. Best wishes for her recovery.
I "liked" another comment asking who else has been obsessively checking for updates on "mama" girl: yes, that's me too! I am so glad to see her in CC's care, and I like her so much, she tags along after her new human and is grateful and calm and hungry. Looking forward to seeing all about this pretty lady who will now get the pampering of a lifetime :-)
Usually, when CC starts the video with a question, the answer is no 😃 I just hope all is going well so far. The mare should be on a normal feeding schedule now, and I hope CC is getting some sleep. 💞
this is the kind of horse that won't quit on you. I got a 29 year old mare that had just weaned her last colt for my 8 year old grandson to learn to ride on. she belonged to the same woman from her birth. when I borrowed her she looked like she was 10 years old. that's difference that quality care makes and that comes from love. she passed at 32
I'm so glad she isn't in foal. These old mares often die of uterine artery rupture after foaling. She loves you already - food, grooming, and a warm blanket. An old horse's dream.
I'm so happy to learn that this new mare is doing well. I know it's still early days, but her prognosis seems very good so far. I'm also glad to know how the dentistry went. I guess I'm in that large club with BlackKittyKat - I've been checking constantly, too. Another viewer (I'm sorry, I don't remember who it was... thanks) mentioned that she had "become a member" . I had never done this before - it's _easy!_ It takes $4 per month via a credit card. I am not focused on membership "benefits". Though I might love them, I just want to do what I can to support what CC does. I want her to get a glorious, perfect new ranch!
Thank you for rescuing Little Mama. She deserves some loving care after all she's been through. You have a huge heart. I'll be following along with all you do. Love from Moab.
I'm soooo grateful for Mama horse that she isn't packing a final bun in her oven! I hope this means that she can retire in peace and just be a sweet old lady for the rest of her days, enjoying her life.❤❤❤
Can tell she is such a sweet horse and seems so happy she is with you. It would have been nice for a baby to appear but she probably has had enough of being a mom. what a great thing to be able to do. Nigel seems in his element too.
What a sweetheart. She SO deserves just to live her life now, not be constantly bred. I find it sad that people just keep breeding and breeding from older horses, just not ok. Glad she'll have a nicer life now!
I hope she's not pregnant. We'll find out if the vet finds other health concerns that need addressing. EDIT: I'm so relieved she's not pregnant. Yes, a little one would wlhave been a joy, but she deserves total attention on _her_ health. We all know she's with the right human who will do her best to make sure she has a good life. Thanks CC!
The minute that you addressed her as "mama" (which in her case is Very appropriate), I couldn't help but think that "Mia" might be a lovely name for her;) Thank you for bringing her home because we already love her!

Now look at me, checking every day if CC uploaded a new video, being very addicted to the content. Always love the shananigangs these horses are up to. Im in love with all of them and of course CCs video style.
She's a beautiful gentle kind old soul. I'm so glad she's ended up in your care.
I am a little bummed she isn't pregnant because I would love to see CC help raise a little one. But, I'm also glad she isn't pregnant because CC will have an easier time getting this old gal into really good shape. I'm looking forward to watching the progression and seeing her improvements.
So glad she isn’t preggers. At 26 and underweight this is good news for this sweetie and your care of her. Thank you for rescuing her.
Ditto.❤
Once healthy, she should be a dream to care for. She seems so kind and gentle. I keep saying, "she". I want to call her by a name. She deserves a really special name.
How about Mary? Maria? Marie? Merry Christmas as a name?
Or maybe they pulled the baby off of her too soon. Horse Plus just rescued a bunch of babies, and a couple were only 4 months old!
@@alisong2328 : One was believed to be two months in a somewhat recent video.
This sweet lady of a horse is right where she needs to be. So glad you shared her with us.
hit the LIKE button folks..
Hit the like button it helps her channel and the horses , CC is amazing with these horses
Almost "normal" , 4X a day
@@TheCleverCowgirl Hugs to you, and strength to your back & legs!
Hope the Gator has arrived.
this is the kind of horse that won't quit on you. I got a 29 year old mare that had just weaned her last colt for my 8 year old grandson to learn to ride on. she belonged to the same woman from her birth. when I borrowed her she looked like she was 10 years old. that's difference that quality care makes and that comes from love. she passed at 32
Love this gentle, sweet mare❤❤❤ Her life breeding babies are over and she can just recover and be pampered by you CC, bless you always 💕💓🎈🤩❤️🩹
You can’t buy that feeling you get when helping another living creature…fellow man or animal…you can feel your heart swell with love ❤️ ……..priceless
I'm so glad she isn't in foal. These old mares often die of uterine artery rupture after foaling. She loves you already - food, grooming, and a warm blanket. An old horse's dream.
What an absolute sweetheart of a mare. I actually think "mama" is the perfect name for that beautiful lady. I'm so hoping her recovery goes well.❤
I'm kinda hoping for her to be named Mary Christmas, Maria, Marie. What do you think?
Perfect! I had a basset hound named Christmas "Chrissy." I adopted her at 9 months, she lived to be 13.
I just hope that amazing mare recovers fully.
Nigel is looking so good! ❣❣❣
Her desire to follow you indicates her level of energy and willingness to go with your program. She knows she in professional care now.
Oh boy! I’ve been looking forward to a video about this mare! 🎉❤
I love the way she follows you around.
What a sweetheart. She SO deserves just to live her life now, not be constantly bred. I find it sad that people just keep breeding and breeding from older horses, just not ok. Glad she'll have a nicer life now!
If she is pregnant, I'm so glad she's with you.
She is a kind and gentle soul and we appreciate you bringing her home. ❤
Thank you for sharing your beautiful horses!
This girl is another jewel in your kingdom!
Your channel is amazing and my daughter and I are so thankful for all you share!
God Bless!
Thank you for your
