59:00 THATS SKIZZ??? I’ve been watching so much of the gigs phasmo streams and I never realized that’s skizz, I seriously thought that was a Vine clip. Holy shit 😂😂
The amount of humility you all expressed during this event is staggering. If you didn't know, THAT is why I watch your Podcasts, Minecraft, Phasmo, etc. You guys bring me lots of joy.
This turned out to be one of my favorite episodes, absolutely loved the stories! I hope this leads to a Cub episode.....the dude is completely amazing.
I had seen some of this from Gem's vlog but it is awesome to hear you talk about it. Also, the comment about never knowing when it will be the last time you do something hit me. A little over a year ago I messaged a friend to tell them I was sick and wouldn't make church the next day. They replied they would see me next week and hoped I felt better. That next time never came. At service it was announced that she had died that morning of a heart attack. Treasure every moment.
It can't be just me thinking every time I listen to this podcast I think "man, these two guys could really be my best friends if we were in the same city/country etc". You got best friend energy. That's the best energy there is!
Because the eyes on Impulse's shirt are on his pecks, every time he takes a deep breath or wiggles, the eyes look animated. It's weirdly hypnotic... And Skizz, your joy at figuring out how to connect with people is a delight!
Skizz: I'm thankful you stayed in the group photo. I ended up not taking any photos of myself during the whole TwitchCon because I was too shy... I'm still kicking myself for that. But I did stay for the group photo. Fun fact, it took me two weeks to find the photo on Twitter after Twitch said they didnt have it! 🙃
@@impandskizzpodcastIt’s so funny that I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this reply came from Impulse. It’s not even that the heart is yellow. It could have been pink and I’d still be this sure. 😂
Imp and Skizz: Thank you again for an amazing TwitchCon meetup! I remember loudly cheering for TangoTek as he entered the room for his work on Decked Out 2! I appreciate that the Hermits are genuine people that take care of each other and the community. Please keep up the great work, and I hope I can meet you and the rest of the Hermits again! ☺
I was the person at the front of skizz's line in the picture of the minecraft meetup (cosplay with the mask and suit), it was so lovely to meet you all! Don't worry too much about not being able to spend a ton of time with everyone, there were way too many of us to really make that possible lol and I think you both balanced keeping people moving while still trying to make the interactions meaningful regardless. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into staying upbeat for us all, even when it sounds like you weren't feeling great Impulse, honestly I didn't even notice your voice was gone. It was a pretty long drive for me to get to Vegas as well, I listened to this podcast for part of it to pass the time and it was a great way to start my weekend at the convention :)
As much as you hated losing your voice Impulse, for me it added to the 'atmosphere' for your streams and make those of us at home feel just a tad closer to the action. It added that 'human' element.
I hope you know, Skizz, that there's lots of laughter in front of this screen. 😂 You guys have gotten me through some pretty tough times... Thank you for everything the community y'all have created ❤
Meeting online friends in person is one of the best experiences, and then leaving them is one of the worst. You can really hear the joy in your voices talking about that weekend, and I love to hear it! I'm glad you guys had that opportunity!
Man the more I hear about the convention the more I wish I could have been a part of it. Living on the east coast made that difficult but hopefully I'll be in a position to travel for the next one. Can't wait for a Skizz hug.
if a Minecon doesn't happen again, I'd love to see a Hermitcraft meetup! Europe or the US, I'll find a way to make it. everyone in your corner of the internet has been such a big inspiration and comfort for me for 6 years now
Skiz, I love the moment you had with Cub. Those interactions we have with people are what life is all about! And the energy you bring to the moment. So cool you guys matched frequencies on that subject. Keep sharing the love, guys!
Leaving Twitchcon, it was so hard to leave my friends too. That hug goodbye.. I just met these people on Friday and now I have to lose them !?! Ahhh it was so hard !!! Amazing weekend, glad I got to meet you guys there :)
As someone who used to sing, a little tip I learned to maintain your voice for long sessions. 2 actually 1, sip on lightly salted water or snack on lightly salted chips every hour or 2 during whatever you need to keep your vocal cords lubed, when I say lightly I mean, like a few chips every 15 mins, not literally snacking you don't want to force yourself sick on high amounts of salt, you just want enough to keep the vocal cords lubricated. the other thing is, if you strained your voice already AVOID AT ALL COSTS dairy products. the dairy just gunks up your vocal cords more, and makes it harder for them to heal. Good info to also use if you have a cough, or sick with a sore throat, same aspects.
I was the crazy guy making the announcements, and knowing you felt that way @Skizzleman, made me laugh, as I am the same way, and I wasn't even working at the convention, they just asked me as I knew all of who you all were.
Timing is everything. I didn't expect to be this excited being the first person but YAY. Love listening to you both just be you. Appreciate the moment 🎉
I’m 43 and I used to stream when I had more time. I was old and a woman and I played Minecraft. I believe streaming, at least as a hobby, is for anyone who wants to!
23:14 yeah. That's what i think too. It's gotta feel so much more rewarding to be able to actually meet people and see that what you make helps them. Being able to hear the laughter and see the smiles is so important as someone who is very much a natural entertainer myself. It gives you so much more energy to put on a show for them.
Ok. When Skizz talks about talking to the meet up folks and they react to his joke with laughter and it was like streaming but real. I totally felt this! I used to create in UA-cam and i did a few live streams with an in person audience. I was hooked! The live audience typing is so cool and the words coming in from people as you say abd do stuff is truly a blessing, but in person... Its just so much more amazing! Happy to say i fully get the names to the faces and all the joy that moment brings. Truly a blessing to be able to say you have a community! Way to go guys!
It was *so* wonderful getting to meet you and Skizz and the hermits. I was one of the crazy people singing behind you for the phasmo stream! You had joked about making the singing a button on your soundboard, I hope you do! That would preserve that amazingly fun moment and let us remember it fondly in the future. Thank you for being so kind and generous with your time, and I'll be so happy if you do come out to other cons in the future (hopefully cons that are kinder to your voice!) 😆
The podcast is the biggest thing I watch of y’all. It’s released at the perfect time every week for me to turn it on after my morning class and listen to it while I change into my scrubs and eat lunch. It ends at just around the time I have to leave every Friday for work. It’s nice. I did find the podcast through… well… Mumbo to Hermitcraft to Impulse and Grian to phasmo to the podcast. So I do watch the other stuff sometimes. But the podcast just perfectly fits in my schedule.
It's so great to hear that all the hermits are really, truly good people. I enjoy watching so many of them (Skizz, I include you as an honorary hermit), but knowing they really ARE the kind souls they seem to be, makes supporting them feel even better.
Couldn't make it to Vegas but I loved hearing you both and Gem talk about the trip. Absolutely love Imp and Skizz and all you do. Thank you both so much for putting yourselves out there for our enjoyment. You bring us so much joy and comfort. 💜
Night owl member here. Had to put my membership on hiatus when the eldest child started middle school a few months ago and has to catch the bus at 6:30 in the am. I totally get where Skizz is coming from re: being an early riser (now) but still a night owl. It SUCKS.
This was an amazing telling of your time at TwitchCon. I really wish I could have been there to meet you all as I truly enjoy the content you all provide. When Skizz mentions that part near the end of "this could be the last time" it really hit home. It made me recall when I had cousins from Australia come visit us as part of a large North American trip they scheduled. We got to spend some great time, all be it short, together as they were in between stops. I always had it in mind to try to get down to see them in Australia. Sadly, one of them passed away at too young an age a couple of years later. So hearing Skizz say "could be the last time" hit my hard, even years later. Reminds me to enjoy the company of those I meet, because you dont know.
Hearing you guys talk about the meet and greet and how you felt during the entire process gives me a little hope I'll get past my anxiety and actually say hi to you all one day! You guys are amazing! Love these podcasts so much.
always love your episodes, theyre genuinely the highlight of my week after a full schedule of school and work. you affect so many people with your wonderful personalities and skills. :) + perhaps... cub could he on the podcast soon? my 3 favourite cc's all in one place would be the best early christmas present ever. you all would definetly have great and meaningful conversations, too!
It's so much fun hearing about your experiences at TwitchCon, so glad you both had such a good time! It's sweet hearing about all the wonderful interactions you had with your community and your friends, too. Thank you for being such genuine people, it's really appreciated!
So glad u both had a blast at Twitchcon! i always worry if you all get overwhelmed or tired from meeting and talking to so many people. But hearing your stories reassures me that you both were so happy!
I was unable to make it this year. Our family has been through a lot this year and we could not make it to see some of our favorite parasocial relationships in person. I'm sad, but also a little glad too. As I most definitely would have been THAT person who would have just broken down in to tears. I'm a very emotional person and that level of validation would've completely overtaken my meds. You guys are amazing and your impact on this world is so much more than you will ever know.
being from completely another part of the world and knowing i won't ever have a chance to visit any convention like this, it's still so heartwarming hearing your guys experiences of meeting each other and fans! i hope you'll have more this kind of meetings in the future because it's always so nice to hear stories of your favourite content creators meeting
It was pretty funny hearing about meeting OpalWhisker, Rill, Oz, and others and at first was like, how do I know these names? OH THE iSV server!!! All of those people are amazing! Its always fun hearing from people about their con stories and one of these days hope to go!
Dude Skizz you are never too old to stream. You bring so much life to every video you are in I love it. Just waiting for the day you join Hermitcraft. Love you buddy
I'm gonna keep pushing for this (not too much, just every once in a while), Hermit-Con in Pittsburgh. That might be the only way I ever get to actually see any of y'all as I'm never able to make any of the Cons anywhere else.
Amazing podcast, amazing retelling of that whole story I had already had glimpses of watching gem's vlog. Thanks a bunch : i'm in Europe and coming to such an event that's not gonna happen anytime soon. So hearing yall's stories that's fun and entertaining and gives me the flutters caus' you manage to make it feel like we're all there with yall.
Would LOVE for y'all to make it to some sort of east coast meet up. NYC perhaps, or someplace for us north east fans to meet you! Love you guys! What great personalities you have and a pair of stand up guys.
Great stuff, guys. Thank you for sharing! Skizz - If you are experimenting with better list-making, look into Adam Savages book "Every Tools a Hammer". Very interesting guy if you have not run into his stuff before. He goes into personal experiences with lists, strategies, and how he learned to make them better over the years. I would LOVE to see a podcast with the three of y'all if the universe can align perfectly! Listening to your adventures is always inspiring and entertaining.
We didn't get to go, so my eldest son watched the VOD of the Sony Phasmo as soon as it went on the 2nd channel. He was stunned when the crowd behind you sang the next line of the Blink182 song. He turned to me and was like, "How did they know to do that? I thought only Grian and Skizz did that when GiGS plays." It was then that I got to introduce all of my kids to the full song, and now they sing it to each other when they play phasmo together. I wished we could have come. The Saturday of TwitchCon was that child's Birthday... and he asked if we could go just so he could get your autographs (and Tango's). We also happen to live in the greater Phoenix area... You guys are soo close, and yet so far.
Impulse saying 'we are just people' is probably the most important thing you could have said in this podcast. In so many streams you see people who regret not meeting their favourite because they are scared to say hi. I like to think of it like they are people doing a job but we just happen to be able to watch them do it. All the content creators I have met have been wonderful people. Y'all need to come to Australia for next PAX and join Pearl.
Yes, and it also really helped that Skizz emphasized that they will always be friendly, no matter what also really helped because I am always afraid of saying something stupid, or just being a bother.
at a con you know they are there to meet their viewers so if a content creator is making you feel like you are a bother, they are not worth your time @@laartje24
30:59-I know that anxiety Impulse. 2 options : have a handler that moves folks along at a preset time. Or give yourself entirely to the fan in front of you, for however long that is. That way you know you gave them everything you could-which is worth the wait
I’m going to Dutch Comic Con this weekend and wasn’t really looking forward to it because I’m going solo but because of this podcast i now can’t wait and I’m a lot more excited to go :) especially because of what Skizz said about making the most of things because you never know when it’ll be the last time
Where do I start? Let's just go with: Impulse, how could you not teach Gem the proper grip???? It starts there with everything. Swinging a bat? As Skizz surely knows, the proper grip is needed to swing a good bat (my daughter was in softball, too). Tennis? The right grip before anything else. Even in Hockey (Tango, wink, wink) wrist shot, slap shot, you gotta have the proper grip. Great podcast, boys. Wish I could have been at TwitchCon.
So what list app was Evan using? (I'm such a list nerd!) Wonderful to hear about your TwitchCon experience and the folks you met there. Thank you for sharing!
I live in Glendale AZ and I am still so sad I never got to meet you both or Tango. Have you ever thought about trying to go to a local Con? Something Like Phoenic Fan Fusion or Game On Con? Would love to finally get to meet you all!
Hey lads! I love both of your work. and I've been watching the MC content for years and I just noticed recently both my kids got in to Roblox - doors, and then from that they got in to ghosts and Phasmophobia. Now I see them watching the Phasmo videos. So they must be hitting something :)
I watched part of Gems recap and she was so grateful that you guys and others made sure to watch out for her, especially since she was a young female traveling alone. I think she said something like you guys were her "dads" for the trip and she appreciated it so much.
Yeah!! It was so comforting to hear
I think it's more funny for me because imp looks a lot like my dad
Im SO glad that the mysterious "just a guy" Cub and "i love people watching" Skizz got along like a house on fire
Right? I loved hearing about that.

I'm really sad that I missed this twitchcon but, I'm most likely going to go next twitchcon! Great podcast!
I'm gonna keep pushing for this (not too much, just every once in a while), Hermit-Con in Pittsburgh. That might be the only way I ever get to actually see any of y'all as I'm never able to make any of the Cons anywhere else.
YAY! Big thanks to you two, ive been binging the podcasts again and really enjoying them
Amazing podcast, amazing retelling of that whole story I had already had glimpses of watching gem's vlog.
Loved every freaking SECOND of these two episodes!!! Also, that light flash at the end? The ghost is gonna hunt soon! Get ready with the smudge!
Question: Did you bring Gem Pumpkin Pie and if so did she like it????
I'm not surprised Cub actually is good at golf given his whole golf course on one of the hermitcraft seasons.
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. Hope some day there is a convention closer to me so, I would love to meet some hermits IRL.
RubadubCub is the best nickname!
So glad y’all had great time. Wish i could have come out there to meet all of you.
30:59-I know that anxiety Impulse. 2 options : have a handler that moves folks along at a preset time. Or give yourself entirely to the fan in front of you, for however long that is. That way you know you gave them everything you could-which is worth the wait
Oh, I have a list-loving friend! The very first thing on every list is "Make a List", just so she can immediately tick one chore off.
Good to know Cub gambles just like he plays Decked Out!
I live in Maine, where nobody comes because nothing happens. Hopefully I will make it to one of the events some day!
Yes please come to pax west me and my husband would be there so fast to meet you both
if skizz went on a standup tour I'd buy tickets so fast!!
I’m going to Dutch Comic Con this weekend and wasn’t really looking forward to it because I’m going solo but because of this podcast i now can’t wait and I’m a lot more excited to go :)
especially because of what Skizz said about making the most of things because you never know when it’ll be the last time
Where do I start? Let's just go with: Impulse, how could you not teach Gem the proper grip???? It starts there with everything. Swinging a bat? As Skizz surely knows, the proper grip is needed to swing a good bat (my daughter was in softball, too). Tennis? The right grip before anything else. Even in Hockey (Tango, wink, wink) wrist shot, slap shot, you gotta have the proper grip.
Great podcast, boys. Wish I could have been at TwitchCon.
I so hope I have the chance to meet yall someday. I'm glad you all had fun.
YAY It's here! 🥰
Can we PLEASE get an Imp and Skizz tour? It would be AMAZING!
Good Podcast Lads 👍
I watched you stream live Imp and your voice sounded good 👍
So cub as the next pod guest surely
So what list app was Evan using? (I'm such a list nerd!)
Wonderful to hear about your TwitchCon experience and the folks you met there. Thank you for sharing!
how cool would it be if Impulse/Skizz and Evan/Katelyn did a Minecraft series together? Hmmmmm???
That would be so cool!
Naked and scared..... Teams???? 😂❤
I live in Glendale AZ and I am still so sad I never got to meet you both or Tango. Have you ever thought about trying to go to a local Con? Something Like Phoenic Fan Fusion or Game On Con? Would love to finally get to meet you all!
What great stories ❤
Loved hearing all these stories! Almost felt like I was there
Here I am... still searching for Skizz's 2 albums he mentioned on the X part 2 episode..
Is it available online? Where? I wanna listen to it Skizz...😤
I really hope you will have a chance to get together again, either on or offscreen. You all have something special going on there! 😊
I waited until this second part was out before listening, so I wouldnt have to wait :)
Hey lads! I love both of your work. and I've been watching the MC content for years and I just noticed recently both my kids got in to Roblox - doors, and then from that they got in to ghosts and Phasmophobia. Now I see them watching the Phasmo videos. So they must be hitting something :)
I seriously hope you come to Australia some time. I'd love to meet you a well!
"Do you remember how desperate I was for chapstick" is my new favorite thing ever
