Zed is incredibly underrated. His collabs in Hermitcraft Season 9 have consistently been high points, from taking Tango on a Weekend at Bernie’s arc to a symphony orchestra performance with Etho, to the Pulled Pork Parade. Great interview.
@@the1fortheages That was ALL I could think about and my 10 yr old, who is usually ahead of the curve when it comes to catching the funny stuff in Hermitcraft, could not understand why I was laughing so hard. Not like I’d never seen an AFK prank before but it went on soooo long and there were so many horrifying near-misses.
Whenever zed has a new video, you know it’s gonna be some super interesting and creative collaboration/ machine/ build. Hermitcraft in general has been amazing in which creators are invited to the smp.
Zed was one of the later hermits I caught onto during his cave of curiosities and bam he's got the coolest base ideas. The kids wanna binge watch a hermit season, but we've seen so many of them, but we haven't watched the entire science lab Zedaph season and I'm hoping they'll wanna watch that one!
Minecraft is a sandbox game that you can play any way you want. Yet somehow, it still feels like Zedaph found a way to play it incorrectly. Just to be clear, that's supposed to be a compliment. Zed is amazing.
The way Zedaph uses the alternate definition of "play" is what makes him so entertaining. Docm77 likes to break the rules of the game, Zedaph plays with them. Love his stuff. Thanks so much for the interview, can't wait till next Friday!
Zed deserves so much more exposure. He’s one of those creators that I think could entertain and pull in people that don’t play or know anything about Minecraft at all, he’s just that funny and creative!
I love it! This may not have been touched on during the podcast because we all see Zed's "outside the box" approach as his biggest draw... ...but the man knows his redstone. I've said this before, but you've surely seen the second Combrewter in season 8. What impressed me even more was his Minecraft timekeeper back in ZSMA. It kept track of years, months with the variable amount of days, gave him cake on his birthday and a present at Christmas, and even accounted for Leap day in February every four years. Accompanied by a moon-phase clock in the upper part of the building, it was one of the coolest things I saw at the time.
Zed also is incredible at explaining his redstone builds. Nothing against other creators but the way that he explains and tests each section of his redstone in-world/sometimes in creative instead of just building the entire thing from scratch via time lapse makes redstone so much more approachable! Despite the complexity of coming up with a disc farm or a combrewter I feel like I can understand the entire build and makes me want to delve into redstone!
Realising that Zedaph is making great content without being the best redstoner or builder makes me even more confident that slizzleman will be on Hermitcraft making the funniest videos in collaboration with the rest of the hermits! Slizzleman has a truly perfect ability to collaborate and make hilarious content so he needs to be on hermitcraft, living in impulse's base and causing havoc! Nod to tango who also is the missing link to you all. Much love to all three of you, all your content is great!
Zed downplays his technical/redstone capabilities. He is extremely good because he forces himself to solve problems people don’t normally try to solve. Sure, he doesn’t compact his redstone like some players do. Sure he doesn’t optimise his redstone like some players do. But his technical skills are excellent. The Combrewter stands out in my mind.
i became a fan of Zed because of the big base swap of season 7. (i found HC from Mumbo mid S6 and when season 7 started i started trying to keep up with more then just mumbo) I very much appreciate the very unique humor.
Yeah, that’s when I started watching Zedaph too. I knew he existed before then, but he just seemed like some weird guy off in his own corner of the server and nothing really drew me to give him a chance. Then he got custody of Grian’s base, which I cared about because I watch Grian’s videos, and I very quickly learned just how delightful Zedaph’s videos are!
So excited to see Zed on the podcast! If Zed does come back to the US I'd love to see a ZITS pod episode with everyone in person, maybe talking about the experience of prior visits and the streams y'all did together back then.
One of my fave seasons watching Zedaph was his Cave of Contraptions. The creative lengths he went to to perform some of the most mundane tasks. His redstone skills were outstanding (and still are)
One of the best podcasts out there! The conversations are really chill, feels less like interviews and more like dinnertable conversations between mates. Keep them coming! Also, Zed looks like the love child of Mumbo and Impulse 😮 handsome guy
Zedaph has the most consistent way of crafting his videos. There are almost no lows and it all comes from his choice on what story to tell each season. Always a good watch, never a dull episode.
We never miss a Zedaph episode, because they have such a strong direction and concept and are so different. Sometimes we get obsessed with other storylines or content creators, but Zedaph is a constant high bar and not to be missed, I cannot think of a 'phone it in' episode.
I've been hoping for this episode forever!! I've been happy dancing and wiggling for the past 47 minutes XD I could write an essay on the accolades upon accolades myself and others have for Zed. He is an absolute delight to experience and i'm glad yall feel the same. Can't wait for next week
Oh my gosh, the levels of excitement when i saw this pop up in my notifications!! And yes, i am a bit late to the party on this, but that's because i was catching up on all the podcasts up to this point, and also waiting to be able to watch this and give it my full attention instead of listening while doing something else Zed is such an awesome creator in everything he does, and he definitely deserves a place on the guest list of this podcast, and now the full team ZITS podcast appearances have been fulfilled too! Both this podcast and A World Without have such value and humor to be able to rewatch/listen to them over and over, which I'm super glad of because they are my absolute favourites and almost the only podcasts i engage in It's so interesting to hear Zed talk behind-the-scenes like this, especially on his minecraft creations, since there's some to see on his films (only reason I'm glad the Kris and Jack channel stopped is being able to see the Patreon content) (but I'll save that talk for podcast part 2!), especially as i want to start livestreaming mc hardcore, i think my personality and large amount of game knowledge would make it entertaining, but I'm getting a lot of pushback from the people around me who think it would be a waste of my time when i don't have a "real" job at the moment, despite looking for one for so long and no longer feeling any passion for the job type i thought i wanted to do Anyway, Zed definitely makes things i always want to come back to, there's a reason why all 3 of his channels are at the top of my sub list, and i really need to comment to show my appreciation more, especially when the comment section is a bit lackluster for the level of quality and commitment clearly made to every video!
Doing interviews is definitely a good direction for this show. There are about 25 active Hermits plus Life series guys which is 50 weeks of podcasts if you do 2 parters. That’s-a whole lotta content!
There isnt many Podcasts I listen too, but this is one of my favorite... I love the chemistry you two have together... Both are so different ppl, both share the love... Cant wait to see the future for you both...
The hermits who make a point to do things in such different and creative ways are always great fun to watch. Zedaph, Cub, Etho, Joe, and Tango are the ones I think of first, but so many of the folks I watch do that (in Hermitcraft and beyond) and it always gives me inspiration for my own creations. It both shows great knowledge of the game and non-linear thinking. Zed is great fun.
I loved Zeds advice; you have totry to be true to yourself, because you will never be happy just blending in if it's not you. It is hard, though, but you will find your tribe. I love these guys. Thanks for the lovely, thought-provoking conversation.
Absolutely love Zed. There are only a few Hermits that I watch all of their Hermitcraft content as well as all of their non-Hermitcraft content. Zedaph is one of those few. Completely entertaining and likable.
The amazing guests and behind-the-scenes of the creative minds involved (hosts included) always brings a feeling of being so centered and natural to life. It's one of the reasons I've incorporated listening to every podcast somewhere throughout my work week. Great work all! Love the silliness and editing style of Zedaph too!
I have not been a long time fan of Zed, as I only found him at the beginning of season 9. However, he very quickly became one of my absolute favorites. I've loved every episode I've watched and this podcast had me smiling every second. In regards to being unique, my thought it always to embrace it. How boring would the world be if we were all the same, enjoyed the same type of humor, or liked the same things and so on? Being unique is what makes you, you.
Zed is a secret genius. When my wife and i first started watching Hermitcraft videos we were very guilty of overlooking Zedaph thinking his content was too silly for us. Over time, we realized that Zed is actually just as brilliant as any of the smartest hermits. The trick is Zedaph uses creativity and genius together to develop wild ideas to keep the game fresh. We went from overlooking Zedaph to looking forward to each new video with rapt anticipation.
This was a great episode, very inspirational! I loved learning about the maturity of touch. I also loved the plant in Zed's background, very lush! We have enjoyed the Zedvancements this season! The 1812 Overture with Etho was amazing!
This podcast is the gift that keeps on giving! When I started watching Naked and Scared, I never sped up the videos because your banter was so perfect! I still don't listen to podcasts other than this one. You are always so reassuring, helpful, and fun! This episode with Zedaph was pretty awesome, I'm such a fan of his style of videos too on Hermitcraft! Thank you all for this collaboration, I'm looking forward to Part 2!
Zedaph!!! So excited for part 2! A world without is one of my favorite podcasts, my face always hurts from smiling when i listen. I havent listened to the new episodes yet because im saving them for when i have a bad day, but im so excited! Cant wait to talk about kris and jack next week! The Blockumentary is one of the best videos on all of youtube
Ha ha ha I love that Skiz who clearly shows neurodivergent thinking can't help but be drawn to Zed another person who also is thinking outside the box it's like the odd ducks are drawn together. I've seen it all throughout my life hospitality is just full of characters with these lived experiences that don't fit the standard model but when you get them together they make incredible teams, creativity is the norm, Chaos abounds but the quality is just top notch because they are getting the best out of each other. Love it! ❤
I loved what Zed said about how if he’s enjoying what he’s doing, then others will enjoy watching. It is so true! Sometimes it doesn’t matter for me if a content creator is playing a game I like or not, if they’re having fun so will I. Very excited for part 2!
Loved getting to learn more about Zed and his background. Zed is so underrated in this community. He's a gem ❤ Would love to see another underrated content creator like cub on the podcast!
Zedaph has become one of my favorite Hermits to follow along with during this season of Hermitcraft (along with the Create Series) and it makes me wish I had started watching his videos sooner! He has incredible attention to detail and really takes the time to fully flesh out his videos so it always strikes such a lovely balance between all the aspects that make for a fun and entertaining viewing experience. It's consistently polished with a ton of creativity so whenever it pops up in my subscriptions feed, I already know it's gonna be a great way to spend 20-30 minutes of my time. As usual, awesome interview for the podcast today! Looking forward to part 2 :)
I'll change the Etho request. Put fanart of Kakashi on the screen when you eventually have him on But also, Zed is always a joy to watch. He's just a treasure.
Whew, I was worried about the time duration when you hadn’t gotten into Kris&Jack at all!! I’m looking forward to hearing more behind the scenes. I loved the skits and with Mumbo filming some of them we got a little more BTS but I want more!
I absolutely love Zed’s videos, both on the main channel and Kris and Jack. The subtle “A World Without” poster in the background kept making me think of both the podcast and the really funny sketches. Zed, if you’re reading this, I want you to know how much I love the videos on Kris and Jack and how glad I am the podcast is back! 👍
Zed just plays Minecraft... differently. Like, it is very hard to pin-point what his "style" is. It's wacky, and silly, and unexpected. Every episode is like a present on Christmas morning!
I love hearing from content creators about this stuff as an aspiring and upcoming creator! You've probably done an episode talking about this already but can you do an episode talking about the very early days of content creation? Maybe sprinkle in some tips especially around balancing your work and life (god knows I need help lol) Looking forward to hearing from Zed next episode!
Zed's content is special compared to the other Hermits' because most things he comes up with for season themes or off the cuff stuff seems to involve as many of the other hermits as possible. He's like a break from the grind for a lot of the hermits that would otherwise be down in a mine somewhere or building the 8th floor of their mega base, or doing yet another redstone farm. He's like the Music Man. He rolls into town, and you just know you're going to have some fun with him no matter what he has you doing, and then you can go back to your work. He also undersells his MC skills. We just don't always get to see them because his content is so different, but something like Zedvancements means you know the game in and out in order to come up with them. I really wish the Create mod were something all the Hermits would want to use for a season, just to see what they'd come up with. Give that tool to Zed, and he'd still be the zaniest hermit on the server, only times ten.
There is something I saw on the Hermitcraft subreddit once. There was a caption above saying “Different types of redstoners” and below were 4 slides. The first was some pixel art of Etho saying, “Ultimate Enchanting System”, then some pixel art of Mumbo saying, “Grian Proof Vault Door”, then some pixel art of Doc saying, “Intercontinental Anvil Cannon”. And on the final slide there was some pixel art of Zed saying, “Cow Powered Elytra Launcher”. And I think those 4 designs by those 4 redstoners sort of embody their style. And a cow powered Elytra Launcher is stupid and I love it.
An amazing guest with Zedaph. I started hearing about Zedeph on Tango’s Create Mod Minecraft series. I started watching Zed last season of Hermitcraft.
Won't lie found Zed though challenging myself to watch all hermits season 9 series, maybe that will be my own Zed Advancement lol, it's nice to see some other creators who don't get talked about enough ending up on your guys podcast. I think that's what makes you guys unquie! I only found your guys podcast this year but it has me thinking about a lot of things! So thank you!
At about 36 mins, you ask Zed if he's gone back and watched his previous videos. I would say that if you don't feel that you from a year or two ago was an idiot, you've not developed and grown enough! Learning by doing and experimenting is sort of Zeds vibe. I am absolutely sure skizz has said something like 'you're either getting better, or you're getting worse, nothing stays the same'. I would love to see a Zed and Skizz collab series that embodies this!
And what a pleasure it was chatting with you guys! Gracious hosts who couldn't have said kinder things about my silly videos! ♥
Hi zed
Zed your season 9 Zedvancements is one of the greatest things I've watched on Hermitcraft, keep it up!!
Was very fun seeing you here
woop woop runescape!
Zed, you know we think your videos are very silly but that's why we love them!!
Zed is incredibly underrated. His collabs in Hermitcraft Season 9 have consistently been high points, from taking Tango on a Weekend at Bernie’s arc to a symphony orchestra performance with Etho, to the Pulled Pork Parade. Great interview.
And speed dangling the cow with Xisuma after the arrow machine killed Zed's cow... twice.
Lmao... how did I not think of weekend at Bernie's when watching zed and grian move afk Tango? That fits so perfect

Good guess
An unexpected Zedaph interview?! omggggg A delightful surprise!
Edit: I have never heard how Zedaph came up with his name. That’s so cool!
Skizz saying how Impulse is the back up best friend, absolutely adorable and funny😂😂

The subtle “A World Without” poster in the background kept making me think of both the podcast and the really funny sketches. Zed, if you’re reading this, I want you to know how much I love the videos on Kris and Jack and how glad I am the podcast is back! 👍
Yes! You interviewed my favorite youtuber!
Fantastic interview as always, guys. Zed is such a great part of Hermitcraft and completely underrated. Good on you guys for showcasing him.
Zed just plays Minecraft... differently. Like, it is very hard to pin-point what his "style" is. It's wacky, and silly, and unexpected. Every episode is like a present on Christmas morning!
I was always thinking getting Zed and Skizz energy in the same room would be too powerful lol
I love hearing from content creators about this stuff as an aspiring and upcoming creator!
You've probably done an episode talking about this already but can you do an episode talking about the very early days of content creation? Maybe sprinkle in some tips especially around balancing your work and life (god knows I need help lol)
Looking forward to hearing from Zed next episode!
Knowing where he got his name makes me adore Zed even more (platonically, of course).
Zedaph is soooo underrated! He's undoubtedly one of the best minecrafter in this platform
Zed has some of the oddest, best content. I LOVE watching the zedvancments right now. Thanks for having him on guys!
Zedaph is a comedy gold.
I'd love to watch Zedaph in the Life series.
ZED!!!! Yaaaaay!!!!! I love Zed, loved the podcast! Thanks
the quality of the set up keeps getting better!!! love this
I had a smile on my face the entire time I was watching this interview!
This interview had me go searching for the tango comment on the zedaph video😂 And then I got trapped in watching Zedaph's old content.
I can't wait the next episode because I love Kris and Jack
Zedaph on this podcast ... Bloody Brilliant !!! Looking forward tow part two
Yeah, that ZedGraph series is going to get a spike in views, mine included! Can confirm, the scream is glorious!!
Zedaph just rose 100% higher in my esteem, which was already high, for being a towel carrier. Keep calm and don't interrupt the Vogon poet.
I love watching Zedaph's videos. Super creative! He definitely is underrated 😊
Zedaph is one of the most creative minecraft youtubers that should have way more recognition!
Didn’t expect Zed to be on! Im so glad he is here!
Chris is an amazing creative creator who inspires me. Its 1am and looking forward to this podcast.
Your one hour podcasts are always perfect for the weekend. I need exactly that time to clean my bathrooms and you help me be motivated to do it 😅
I love love Zeds content and skizz’s way of describing it is bang on
And when tango gets involved it’s going to be funny
man tango is the master at making adult friends, i should be taking notes
