- In this episode of Minecraft Secret Life SMP created by Hermitcraft member Grian, Mumbo confuses everyone on the Minecraft server. We get a really tough challenge from the Secret Life Secret Keeper, observe the ender dragon being killed, get questioned by Grian and finish up the Minecraft starter base.

Mumbo was an absolute genius in this episode. He made everyone, every single person believe his task was something else. He was like a method actor, he made a fake task and then did the fake task

One thing I love about all the Hermits on such a small server is the unique conversations you get to overhear that would normally be taking place halfway across the map.

I just realized that Mumbo’s horse wasn’t fast, everyone else was really slow. Best give those spuds to Scar.
Idk if anyone noticed but mumbo didn’t even get the 8 spuds that were promised, he only got 7
Horse spawn eggs, if I recall correctly, always spawn them with "run of the mill" stats, so Mumbo's horse was likely just VERY average in everything, meaning everyone else's was VERY slow.

Secret life really does add another layer of value to watching multiple POVs, I remember thinking how weird it was for Mumbo to suddenly react to Grian’s singing with such terror in his episode and now watching this one I know why!
yess it’s tempting me to watch everyone’s episodes whenever i see someone acting strange, the concept is really good for getting more viewers on different povs!

Watching this knowing Tango's task is the funniest thing, it's actually nutty how much Mumbo moves about.

I'm glad that the metagame immediately evolved to "do a few extra weird, chaotic things to fool everyone else"
I love how in this series if you were to only ever watch one person perspective you would just think everyone else was going insane
I have no idea how people are gonna do that animatics for this season. The drama and special moments in previous seasons followed a progression and normal development, but this season doesn't seem to have time for drama because everyone is busy with their own task. It feels like a lot less social games and meaningful diplomacy occurs when "be friends/hostile to X player" is a task held by someone in almost every session.
It's fun and funny, but feels closer to hermitcraft than to a life series.

I love how every single task leads to them acting very very strange, and doing odd things that aren't related to their task at all.
BigB's been really good with that this season. He actively does about three "tasks" an episode, alongside his main task, which are thought-out tasks. Or as other players put it, "the hole has changed you", or "you're gaslighting us every session". Paid off people to say nothing about his base, dropped a diamond and asked for it back, brought people into his base then insisted they get out the moment they got inside... No one is guessing his real tasks. Really in the spirit of Secret Life.

After Tango's pov I was so confused as to what Mumbo's task was. This was even funnier than I could have imagined
Its the second time Mumbo's task blends very well with someone task hahaha
I like how Mumbo, trying to avoid weird interactions derived from fleeing from 1 on 1 talks, avoided 1 on 1 talks preemptively, making this a very acurate social anxiety simulator.
Martyn focusing on Scar while Grian focused on Mumbo, and then the two pairs crashing into each other while all are getting excited/panicky for different reasons is definitely what's pushing this season to the top of my favorites. So many fantastic interactions and dynamics that would never come about from their normal personalities.

The laughter at Martyn’s and Jimmy’s demise was everything I never knew I always wanted
Every time I think this season can't get any weirder then we've got things like one-man musicals, a single person committed to it being opposite day and Mumbo scared of one on one confrontations, and no one realises.
Grian suspected it was opposite day for Scar, but Scar didn't do the opposite of what Grian told him to do so Grian gave up
I have never heard Mumbo laugh as MANIACALLY as he did in this episode lol
To be fair I also laughed maniacally when I saw how Martyn turned red. LittleWood took a little walk and it did not end well.

Regular Task: Use a dispenser to equip a helmet on someone without them noticing, then ask why they have a helmet on in a Life series.
I had it as hard originally, make it whichever yall think fits 😭
Not hard enough. Make it so the helmet has to include a curse of binding and you have to press the success button before they notice the helmet.

It would definitely be a hard task imo because you'd have to convince someone to get near a dispenser, and if they look inside and ask, you might fail your task. You could put a carpet on top of a floor dispenser, but still, telling someone to do anything will be really suspicious.
Mumbo's odd behavior sounds like something that only one person witnesses and they try to tell other people, and then that thing completely disappears

I love how mumbo is both the hardest to mimic for Tango, but the most oblivious to being copied by him.
This task was amazing, It was ever-present but hard enough to keep the yellows guessing. Honestly BigB and Bdubs really aided you by getting you on a horse :D I loved all this.
Remember Tango did as well! Thought for SURE that Mumbo was gonna get someone to call him out for it! 😆 But Mumbo's nervous energy movements blended in so well as it seems folks on mounts Never seem to stand still!
21:02 Now I want zombie horses to turn into drowned horses after being underwater for long enough. Slightly _(I mean SLIGHTLY, we aren't talking strider levels of slow here)_ more sluggish on land, but you can properly ride them underwater without getting kicked off.
And putting a skeleton horse in powdered snow will turn them into stray horses, which is the same slowed thing as zombie horses but instead of being able to swim, they have built-in frost walker.
Task Suggestion: You can never be the one to terminate an interaction.
Give it to two people in the same session for extra evils.
Grian randomly coming in belting out his greeting is one of the funniest things from this series
i love watching gem's perspective first, because it didn't even seem like mumbo was running away from her to me. seemed more like he genuinely fell and just left in a jokingly embarrassed huff. really gives an outside view of how difficult it really was for people to tell what mumbo was up to XD
Secret life is such a vibe. I don't think I've enjoyed a life series this much since last life. I really love the weirdness of this series!

This may be the funniest single task of the season so far. The way you would flee if ever alone with somebody was just peak comedy. Especially when you tripped and fell because Gem complimented your tree.
Wow, the mounders are looking really good so far!
As of the start of next session:
Bdubs is green, has FULL hearts, 26 xp levels and enough diamonds to start using them
Pearl has 15 hearts but *56* xp levels, which means *9* max level enchantment attempts before she goes below 30, she will be completely geared out within the first few minutes.
Mumbo is also green with 14 hearts, is more geared than most so far, and will now have access to a full enchanting set up as well (i assume).
Even Joel isnt in bad shape. Hes got enchanted diamond gear (so he doesn't have to go to the death mines for a while) and hes still got 20 hearts.
This has been the most hilarious one so far. Just confusing everyone got me legitimately laughing out loud

TASK SUGGESTION:
(The Unwanted Wardrobe Upgrade)
Get 3 people to wear a piece of curse of binding leather armor through whatever means necessary, you can trick them into putting it on or use a hidden dispenser, whatever works.
But then how will they remove it? Its keep inventory even after you die.

Task idea: get Etho to answer 5 Naruto related questions. When you're done, drop a log in front of him, yell out "substitution jutsu!", then run away.
Task idea: Empty out your entire inventory, only hold and use items that you borrow or steal from other players for the whole session. You may only keep the book

The added track to the horse race bit was amazing! I saw tango’s perspective and when I watched this one I was like what is that noise I feel like I would’ve noticed that before and I turned up my volume and burst out laughing when I realized! Thanks for the throwback to such a great season of HC!
3 task ideas: Find a way to be scared of anything and everything going on constantly afraid you will take damage and die
Become extremely generous and constantly give people gifts until atleast 3 people go insane and refuse to accept gifts
Make a group of people to talk about 1 subject on atleast 3 different occasions (prefferably if the group is mostly the same people)
maybe one guy would be funnier and less demanding cuz you're gonna need to give a lot of stuff to 3people lol

Hard Task Idea: Spend the rest of the episode inside the nether. You die or leave, you fail
While it could be interesting from a task perspective, this would likely mean that the person wouldn't interact with other people for the rest of the episode, and social interaction is kind of the key aspect of this series. A better idea might be "Spend at least 30 minutes straight in the nether" or something like that.

*33:30* This has to be one of my favorite (And the most underrated) visual gags of the entire series, the way it extremely silently cuts to Mumbo grabbing the zombie horse egg with a very silent devious chuckle and then immediately cuts to Martyn angrily screaming ''WHERE DID YOU PULL THAT ONE FROM?!'' with him having not the slightest clue but the Audience knowing every bit just because of that one frame... It's phenomenal yet subtle editing and a real sign of Mumbo's filmmaking and editing skill.

When Mumbo and Scar were in the same location “What’s going on with you!” Was so funny because they had the most confusing tasks
Task idea (probably a hard one, considering the prep work): Put a glowstone block in five people's bases without any one of them calling you out. If they do, you fail.
Man, watching Secret Life really makes me realize how solitary Tango usually is...

Wow mumbo is really starting to figure this out, hes ending with more hearts than he started with, he really did great with that horse distraction, and hes not even CLOSE to the first yellow. Actually hes lasted past 2 people turning RED. Itll be interesting to see how it goes when PVP starts though.
Im assuming based on the hints theyve dropped that red names could get tasks involving violence right?
At 36:47 I lost it. 😂That interaction was full on monty python! Good job with the task mumbo. In the past you've given off the vibe that you don't like silly games and so on. But honestly, silliness is your bread and butter. You're hilarious and I love it.
Idea:
Put a hole in the ground beside your base, so it looks like the ground got picked up and set back down on its side.
This episode made me laugh SO much, just everyone trying to guess mumbos task and thinking it was horse related was just hysterical
the "fast and furihorse" music this episode was the greatest callback ever lol. Also getting potatoes after was the icing on the cake

I'd say not weird, just more social and fun-having. He's normally quite introverted, but it's so nice seeing him have active fun with many other people, also he's having a blast ^_^
tango having to be around mumbo to do his task but mumbo leaving tango whenever they are alone is hilarious to me
I love how that Enderman just strolled over in the background, stole a block of dirt from Bdubs' base, hung out there for a while with it, and then kept periodically showing up in other parts of the video, like it was flexing. That was that Enderman's task for the day.
Task Idea: Call at least 3 people "King" or "Queen" without anyone getting suspicious
Give it to smajor and no one would probably notice
