See? This is why I tell everyone about your channel. You're a born teacher. Thank you so much for taking time out of y'all's very busy lives to teach and help us all! I've learned so much from you over time, not to mention spreading positivity and confidence. ❤️🙏🌱
OMG, i just ordered some moringa seeds, after researching herbs and plants for their medicinal purposes. Although I am up in years, I have received a feeling, calling, urge to get to eating home grown vegetables, herbs and using plants that i can for as many purposes as i can. I have been researching the moringa tree and in some research it is said the plant has 9 x more protein than yogurt, 10 x more vitamin A than carrots, 7 x more vitamin C than oranges, 17 x more calcium than milk, 15 x more potassium than banana s and 25 more iron than spinach. Although when used in a tea it is decaffeinated, it will give you increased energy too. So, it is a blessing for me that all of a sudden your channel came up for me. I was also researching best way to plant potatoes so, your channel is truly a blessing for me today. I will continue to watch your channel, thank you.
Mrs. H, I have been doing all of my seeds using the paper towel method since last year. I wet a paper towel (I squeeze out excess water) place my seeds on the paper towel and then fold and place inside of a plastic sandwich bag. This method is carefree. The plastic creates moisture. Within a week or two my seeds germinated depending of course on the seed. The ones that haven’t, it’s no biggie. At least I know before hand how many are ready to be planted. I’ve done the marketmore cucumber seeds, celery seeds, brandy wine tomatoe seeds that I got from you. They are doing great! The only challenge that I had was with the celery seeds becuz they are so tiny but I got them planted. I’ve only been gardening for about 3 years now and just beginning to feel comfortable planting seeds in the house and learning how to adjust my light as the seed germinates and starts growing. Thanks for your wonderful videos. Will be 74 this year and still learning! I love it 😊
Thank you very much because now I know I have a friend that love gardening and is smart about and forever learning like me and have wisdom in what you doing. I thank Daddy God for you and your family and God bless you and your family amen
I've been sticking cuttings in the ground to get more moringa and it works like magic. This spring I tried seeds but didn't know I needed to soak them first. I've had 4 out of 20 germinate and it's been almost 4 weeks! The seed starting mix has been kept damp but it's been sorry rate to grow. I'm going back to clipping a branch and sticking it in the ground. It is an amazing food and I love to pull off a branch's leaves and add them to a sandwich. Not much taste (if any) but packed with power! Love it. I dried leaves to powder and put into jell forms for vitamin supplements.I'm so thankful that you did this experiment and I learned how to sprout the few seeds I still have. YEA! Great information.
This video is right on time! I am sitting at my table with Moringa seeds in front of me, wondering how to start them. Thank you so much for saving me a lot of anxiety 😉. Blessings to you and Mr. H✌🏾💜🙏🏾
Mrs. Heart, I used to grow moringa you've done a great job I'm starting them. Here's the thing about moringa tree they don't like their root bulb to be wet they prefer dryer soil. They can dry up in a drought for up to three years then as soon as it rains or they get watered they will start growing again. They can survive in temperatures down to 25° overnight and I've had mine survived down to 18 degrees for just a few hours.
Great video! Next time you germinate moringa, try soaking for 1 day and take a sharp knife and gently cut off a little of the husk, not cutting into the seed, to expose the seed. This will leave a small opening for the sprout to come out.
Dear Homestead, Hart, I’d like to take this opportunity. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge I have learned so much between you and Matt farmer 73 I’ve learned can I learn to make of the things that I need I’ve learned to prepare bug out bucket some bags I just wanna say God bless you so much for all the knowledge you share.❤
Thank you for this video!! It saved 60+ seeds! I did 13 the way you said didn't take, none of my 13 did either. However, the tray and all you did, I did too, w 60+ seeds, they are ALL thriving in DAYs not weeks. Ty again. ❤
Mrs H, I canned your hearty red beans today. 10 pints! Had enough left in the pot to have for supper. Just cooked them a bit longer and made rice and cornbread. Delicious!
Thank YOU! What a blessing you are for SO MANY PEOPLE! I bought some Moringa from Lead & Lady Lead & these little guys are not cheap so this is such a valuable germination lesson! Thank you for sharing!
We have been growing Moringa for years. My wife is from the Philippines. Your seeds need to be no older than two years. Just put the seeds in a damp paper towel and place in a zip lock baggie leaving about a 1/4 " open for air flow. No need to soak them. You should see roots in less than 3 days if seeds are healthy. We then just put them in their final container that is a 15 gallon pot.
Thank you!!! Just awesome! It's called the miracle tree. From what I've read .... there's only one moringa...no other variety. Be blessed in the name of Jesus!
Thank you for doing this! I'll be starting mine this way this year. Last year I had such slow germination..one of them that I'd forgotten about didn't pop up until at least 2 months later!
I have tried multiple ways for germination. Yours is the most easiest and most fruitful. When I tried, except floaters all Moringa seeds germinated. I live in New Jersey and its July. It took only 6 days for all of them to germinate. Thanks for showing the way. :)
Giving this a try! I just placed my moringa seeds onto wet paper towels after soaking them for 24 hours. Last year I had NO luck with getting any of my little plants to thrive, and only a few of the seeds even germinated when planted the traditional way directly into a pot. Fingers crossed! Thank you for sharing your success!
Mrs. H you are doing a Great Job starting your Moringa Trees and thanks for sharing your experience, ideas and advice! Peace and Blessings to you and Mr. H. 👍🙏❤
There's Moringa Oleifera n Stenopatala. And more varieties within those two names. U're the first person to talk about temperatures. I covered mine when we got into the 40s, but I should have done it in the 50s. I'm ready for the next batch. 🙏 Thanks
Thank you Mrs H for this video. I'm starting some moringa seeds today and came back here for reference. Where do you keep them while they're germinating and before they go outside? Would you share a video of your germination area? Thank you again. Have a blessed day. 🥰
Thank you, Mrs. H! I soaked mine a couple of days in warm water and then did the paper towel thing. They’re popping out now. Hallelujah. Thank you for the video.
Thank you! I've had my seeds for quite awhile, been hesitating getting them started. Zone 6b. I will be planting them in ex lg pots and bringing them inside during the cold
Hi, we are also in zone 6 b. I planted 6 Moringa seeds about a month ago. Only 1 has sprouted so far. Should I keep the soil moist or let it dry out between watering? Surely don't want to it to rot.
Ms, Moringa, I really appreciate your video. I got my seeds on April 28, 2024, I started my germination process on April 29, 2024. I hope they finish your construction project fast for you guys. Thanks For all your Great Advice, Ms. Moringa.
I germinated several seeds using your method and will soon have to put them in pots. Trusting they will grow to decent size trees to harvest lots of foliage.
Idk how i was so succesful haha, but i got all my moringa seeds to geminate within 2 weeks. I put them in a nice light soil, i put them in a domed container, and i kept them near grow lights and i put about 1 inch of the tray onto my floor furnace vent. I rotated it every day, and that was it. Haha. Im super excited. I got my seeds on amazon after thoroughly searching for a reputable seller. They had very good reviews and i got 100 seeds. Im very happy they germinated though. After watching so many people struggle with them and what not, i was worried. Your the reason I bought them though! I followed how soaked em and how you planted them into the soil lightly and keeping them moist and warm and I think that was it.
I love your channel, girl. You've taught me so many things from canning to growing and living on the homestead. The question I had was when is it ok to plant them in the ground and where is the best place? Full sun? Partial? We're in Tennessee, do you think they'll survive the winter here or are they plants that need to be taken in in the winter?
I ordered more seeds. LOL The ones I got from India nearly 10 years ago were not viable at all. Thanks so much for sharing. My new seeds will arrive this week. In a month our night temps will be above 60 degrees. Since I have no plans to plant the thousand seeds, I'll store some in the fridge and some in the freezer for next year just to have my own experiment. Maybe my trees will have time to give me new seeds for next year. Eugene has already told me where he wants me to plant some...yeah... he wants ME to do it. Gotta love him.
You need a 9 month growing season for a moringa to set seeds. You can plant very early indoors. I buy seeds at an Indian Market, 7 ounce bags for $4, and they sprout beautifully. They sell them as snack foods.
I started 6 moringa seeds on February 10th. So far, only 1 has come up! I think I'll leave the other 5, for now, and do the rest that I have in a tray with paper towels 😄 Thanks for sharing your results! Going to soak them now.
I like that method. What I decided to do this week was soak my seeds for 3 days and then I put them in a plastic bag in a dark place for germination to see how that goes.
Blessings over you in the name of Jesus! Thanks for all your input! I did try germinating some...no go. The seeds have to be fresh. When you buy....make sure the source is selling fresh ones...or you will just get frustrated. A new supply of fresh seeds was totally successful!😁♥️🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing what you;'ve learned thus far. My first attempt looked like a green stick.I just tried 2 more. Misted daily as well. Once they germinated, they grew leaves in about a week to two weeks. I let them sit outside one evening thinking 58 degrees is fine...One of them looks a little limp like the the leaves want to curl inward. Just slightly. I quickly put them back indoors under grow lights the way I had them. Thanks for the tips! I may start one more just in case. GA zone 8a,
Thank you for this information. Have been trying for two years and only have one. I have been babying it all that time. Finally about 2 ft tall. Going to try this method. Thanks for all the information I've learned from you since I found you on utube.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I was gifted some and I was worried about planting. Thank you also for info on the temperature!!! I only have 10 seeds!!
I found a cheap source of moringa seeds. A nearby Indian Market sells 7 ounce bags for $4 as snack foods. I thought they tasted nasty, but they spout beautifully. Cheap!
I ordered 36 seeds. Planted 12 in soil, and 5 in paper towel. This morning I have 5 that germinated in the soil so far. I use rain water to keep them moist! I planted them on march 22, it’s now March 27, I’m expecting more growth… I hope! 🤞 😊
You could seriously start a moringa tree tea farm with all those seedlings! Holy cow! Congratulations. That is an amazing germination!
See? This is why I tell everyone about your channel. You're a born teacher. Thank you so much for taking time out of y'all's very busy lives to teach and help us all! I've learned so much from you over time, not to mention spreading positivity and confidence. ❤️🙏🌱

Thanks for sharing your results! Going to soak them now.
Do they do fine in the 2.5 inch pots until planting outside?
Mine took over a month and are still growing very slowly, in Uk, very sunny here though
Thank you for all your videos
Thanks so much for this useful information! I am just getting ready to start moringa!
I like that method. What I decided to do this week was soak my seeds for 3 days and then I put them in a plastic bag in a dark place for germination to see how that goes.
Recommendations from experienced growers are to soak no longer than 24 hours.
I have not had a successful planting from making seeds. Thank you so much!!! 💓
Soaking the seeds 12 to 24 hours works for me.
WOW. Amazing results. Definitely saving this video.
Great information! Thank you for sharing, I've learned something new. 🥰
I'm going to try your method this year. About to start a tray of these!
Looks like a good start 🌱

Thank you for sharing what you;'ve learned thus far. My first attempt looked like a green stick.I just tried 2 more. Misted daily as well. I quickly put them back indoors under grow lights the way I had them. Thanks for the tips! I may start one more just in case. GA zone 8a,

Cheap!
Will be great food for all your animals and yourself
I ordered 36 seeds. Planted 12 in soil, and 5 in paper towel. This morning I have 5 that germinated in the soil so far. I use rain water to keep them moist! I planted them on march 22, it’s now March 27, I’m expecting more growth… I hope! 🤞 😊
