i have been growing a moringa in a pot since 2015 in nyc...videos on my channel for proof. moringa should be grown by everyone. eat real food. grow real food!!!! btw Jon. you have inspired me since your early videos..thanks for your work.
It’s great in a pot but you definitely need to up-pot it EVERY year or you won’t have as much vigor. They do tend to get root bound in pots and it really limits growth
iDo back to eden gardening and I cut And drop.... Every year I throw in some amendments. And top it off with a little bit of compost or good soil.... It has been alive since two thousand and fifteen , and it produces every season... Even indoors.... My only problem with it is that spider mites absolutely love it..... And it then spreads spider mites to all my plants. So I have to separate it from everybody
Perfect timing! My neighbor was kind enough to share a small moringa tree that he started from seed. In exchange, I gave him a dragon fruit that I had in a small 5 gallon pot that was ready to be transplanted.
Thank You , just getting into growing moringa , have one spindly tree , going to try some cuttings in grow bags on paitio by sunny wall at beach in Southern California… hopefully will grow :)
John, apx 12 years ago you were kind of enough to send me some of your seeds. I enjoyed our conversation. Here I am finally planting moringa in pots & here you are! Thank you❤
Hey John I live in the Philippines and grow hundreds of moringa. We give away 12" and taller trees for fence lines. They make fantastic LIVING FENCES and of course being edible for tea, smoothies and various recipes. I made a short video on my channel. Everyday we use Moringa. It's an amazing useful tree with so many uses. Have you tried the ROOT? It tastes like HORSERADISH. Hence the nick name Horseradish tree
Fox Farms Ocean Forest is good dirt to get some seeds started; John & Bob may not like to hear that, however it has been working for this nube. You go really deep into constructing your soils it's great that you do, you are a great teach; a $30.00 bag of soil should get some seeds going; the worm shit will fill in the gaps. 😊
I’ve seen a few on Etsy if you do a search, you can get a cutting or rooted plant. Oh I see he recommends using seeds over cuttings. I’ve seen seeds on Etsy as well.
Yay I’m so excited to see this video, I’d like to add moringa to my container garden of various greens but wasn’t sure if it was workable.🪴 Your videos are so helpful. Thank you! (Central FL)

The root supposedly has small amounts of a neurotoxin. I wouldn't eat it.
@@Erewhon2024 We eat it several times a month for over 15 years. Not dead yet🥰
Wondering how you get the roots , do you have lots of trees ? At this point I only have one small tree :)
Cool video. Good to see you again john
What is a salad tree? How do you get cranberry hibiscus to fill out and not be tall and skinny.
If anyone wants a Moringa they are super easy to grow by seed!
So, it's a super plant.
You said the click below defined the UA-cam video on preparing your special soil, but I can’t find it
Dude always forgets links 😂

Where do you recommend we get the seeds? I’ve been buying and using powdered moringa for years. Would love to grow my own on the balcony.

Careful with moringa smoothies i knew someone that made them puke it was to pure
It might be an allergy. It is wise to try new food species in small amounts.
