Please never kill a moringa tree. They are a gift from God.
I harvest, dry the leaves, then pulverize into a powder & make my own capsules.
No need for store bought vitamins. I am 75 and no medical issues.❤️

@@jagone5672 From your comment it's evident your brain is lacking in the nutrients necessary for it to function.
There are literally _dozens_ of scientific papers you can search online where you can clearly - and in detail - learn about the *92 nutrients* contained in *MORINGA,* including *vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fats, sterols, alcohols, ketones, terpenoids, phenolic compounds, fats, acids, alkaloids* and *flavonoids;* it has *46 antioxidants* and *36 anti-inflammatory agents,* thus being even more nutritious than _beef liver_ (another superfood).
*MORINGA* has cured my _high blood pressure,_ my mom's _high blood pressure_ as well as her _knee bone,_ and my sister's autoimmune disease called _acne inversa_ (which, by the way, doctors say is incurable). I know of people who have healed from other bad conditions but the point is that *MORINGA* is the best superfood on earth.

I don't know which Zone you're in, but if you're in Zones 9-11, your Moringa tree will grow back on it's own after harvesting leaves. Plus it's VERY easy to grow from cuttings than seeds. It's hard to kill a moringa tree in the tropics, my tree grows back crazy fast after harvesting leaves. 🌻

    • @Pepesplants
      @Pepesplants  Рік тому +6

Yes, large branches (truncheons) will root in the ground. Pencil size cuttings also work in perlite. I prefer seed grown as cuttings don't produce strong enough roots for moringa trees in my experience.

This tree is native to the Indian continent and is a part of various Indian cuisines. The name Moringa comes from Tamil/Sinhalese where it is called "murungyikai". Truly a versatile plant and a tree of life. It is also considered an aphrodisiac (maybe a legend).

We call it Malunggay in the Philippines and knowing how Ancient Hindus traveled to Southeast Asia in ancient times I really think there's a link. It was present in the Philippine's pre-colonial era. The Moringa is believed to be very ancient and must have existed during the dinosaur era. Perhaps a plant species from the Garden of Eden.

Maybe the spiciness that you tasted from the moringa leaves are caused by: 1. consuming the leaves raw 2. Overcooking the leaves. NEVER OVERCOOK moringa leaves. The taste is nasty. 3. The very dark green mature leaves tends to have this spicy-like taste. Use the young leaves and shoots if you're going to consume the moringa as a vegetable. And an advice from someone who literally grew up with a moringa tree- moringa is MEANT to use as a fresh vegetable for cooking. The powdered leaves are added in local flour to fortify/add some nutrients to our local bread here (pan de sal). It's true that moringa leaves are often given to lactating mother's diet to enhance milk production. Yes moringa is chockfull of nutrients but not complete. Better consult a dietician/nutrionist/ physician if you wanna introduce moringa into your diet. Oh yeah if you don't know how to cook moringa leaves I suggest you search some Filipino dishes like Tinolang Manok/ Chicken Tinola with Moringa Leaves, Ginisang Munggo/ Savory Sauteed Mung Beans with Moringa Leaves, Snails in Coconut Milk and Moringa Leaves and Sauteed Canned Sardines (in Tomato Sauce) with Moringa. Cheers and good luck to you.

My mum use to prepare the vegetable with fresh scraped coconut, and it was so yummy. BUT, unfortunately, we had to chop the tree down coz you get a lot of termites to this tree and gradually these termites get into your homes and attack the wooden furniture etc..

Yes the will root from a good sized branch. Sometimes branches tossed around and left on the ground will root and form new trees if undisturbed. Seeds will provide a stronger root system however. Thanks for watching and sharing your comment.

Prior to 2014 we lived in Florida and grew our own Moringa. In 2016 we moved north of the 45th paralle and Moringa do not grow here, (so they say). I found a wonderful company out of Brooksville, FL who sell Moringa seesWe grow them starting from seed (not from our own tree), in April and don't transplant until after the second week of June. Our Moringa are of the miniature type. We grow about a dozen to harvest and 1 in a large pot which enables us to bring "her" inside in early to mid September to weather our winter. Although I dehydrate what we harvest, we have fresh still growing through the winter. It just works for us.

Drank it almost throughout the day, could sleep at night, just as though I took an energy drink, cos I took the whole bottle, just a little was remain.
It also hurt me a little on my truth, not much just as though my throat was on fire.
But it was fine the next day, at least i woke up early and strong after I slept late a lot of pains left me.

But advisable to take if you are diabetic or have high blood pressure, or over-function of your thyroid.

I would use this video as a "cautionary story ⚠️" Eat/drink the Moringa in moderation as a cut and come again tree. That way you have a tree that lives a long time without continuously buying more. And if taken care of properly, will produce seed pods that can be harvested when ready, eaten in moderation, and planted to produce more Moringa trees! 😊💚

Yes, they drop leaves in winter. I have had them survive temperatures around 35 degrees F. Mature trees do much better. Some have frozen and die back to the base in Central Florida. They often regrow from the roots and recover in the spring. Colder climates may kill them for sure.
