    The clean version of this looks like a great warm up exercise for my power clean. My footwork and use of my arms in the turnover just feels slow and imprecise, hopefully this will correct these issues. Thanks Gabriel.

    What difference is there if we do it from flat feet and not toes, Gabriel? Please and thank you!

    • @gsincraian
      @gsincraian  Рік тому

      Explained in the video that purpose of tall snatch is to pull under yourself. If you stay on full foot and you extend on tip toes you jump up with barbell and you don't want that in a snatch.

    • @Bertone4884
      @Bertone4884 Рік тому +1

      @@gsincraian Very interesting! I see what you mean I usually do it with feet planted, but with the weight up I do the dip you mention, will start doing them from extension only to see how it works!

    You are using the normal grip not hook grip for the tall snatch. Does it matter which grip to use?

    • @gsincraian

      yeah, I'm not ussing hookgrip with empty barbell :)

    Should olympic weightlifters have powerlifting circuits while doing few weightlifting movements....or should they just raise the amount of squats and deadlifts while keeping the same amount of weightlifting movements

    i forgot but there was a tall snatch like this where the person does a full snatch pull and then they only dip after the barbell is literally at their neck...

    • @gsincraian
      @gsincraian  Рік тому +1

      You can't do that with higher weight on snatch. the max height were barbell reach in a snatch is arround navel, so is not making sense to practice with lower weight till your neck.

    • @haanswinn
      @haanswinn Рік тому

      @@gsincraian thank you i was always confused because ppl were saying pull till navel for clean and pull snatch until below chest

    • @gsincraian
      @gsincraian  Рік тому

      @@haanswinn At clean is even lower, around hips because of the narrower grip.

    • @haveatyou1
      @haveatyou1 Рік тому

      It's the strappo lento. It's like a muscle snatch and then a power dip at the turnover. I'm not sure the purpose of this excercise but I think it is for balance and keeping the bar close to you.

  • @haveatyou1
    @haveatyou1 Рік тому

    What do you think of the hip snatch versus the tall snatch for training speed under the bar?

    • @gsincraian
      @gsincraian  Рік тому +1

      power = strength + speed ; so first time you need to make sure your strength and speed are in good levels for the weights that you lift.

    • @haveatyou1
      @haveatyou1 Рік тому

      @@gsincraian So tall snatch is better to master speed. Hip snatch is better to train strength?
