    Bernardo Faria is a 5x World Champion. Bernardo started training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Juiz de Fora - MG, Brazil at the age of 14 in 2001. After receiving the Black Belt from his first instructor Ricardo Marques in 2008, He moved to Sao Paulo to join BJJ legend Fabio Gurgel and his Alliance team. After many years of training and winning many major titles, Bernardo moved to NYC in 2013 to train and teach at Marcelo Garcia Academy. In 2015 Bernardo achieved his dream of winning the IBJJF World Championship Open class title and his division, doing the double Gold and becoming the 1st in the IBJJF Ranking and also chosen as the best athlete of 2015.

    Really cool option. Big thing I questions is balancing on 1 foot when they have their foot on your hip.

    My concern is when you lift your foot to attempt removing the de la riva, they will push/pull you off balance.

    How is it possible to do instructionals for specific stripes in the white belt?
    Even the idea of doing instructionals for particular belts cannot be accurate, because everyone’s game is better or worse in different positions.

      I think it's mainly about basics (hence white belt). The stripe thing is just marketing. The techniques he shows are incredibly solid. What do you make of them?

      @@smillerstube For sure a marketing thing.
      White belts all learn the same thing.
      Techniques seem to be solid yeah.
      On second thought about white belt training, I suppose they need to focus much more on survival instead of positional dominance and submission.
      Of course, mix it all in but especially focus on survival.
