I made 412 whp on a garage rebuilt (NPR rings, ACL Race bearings) B18B1 with BC Stage 2 Turbo cams with ARP head and main studs, Cometic MLS head gasket, 630cc Bosch injectors, Walbro 255 LPH fuel pump, 93 octane, eBay 50 trim turbo, full 3" downpipe & exhaust w/cat delete, tuned on Crome Gold at 15 psi. Stock bottom end engine. That same car now has a fully built LSVTEC with a GT3582R turbo at 28 psi on Hondata S300 V3 and it makes 709 whp. When I say fully built, I mean it has almost the best of everything in it. It has close to $15k under the hood.
Thank you for the amount of information that you give to your viewers, for free! When I started watching your channel I had trouble understanding Afr’s and tuning but I can say you have taught me so much I can’t thank you enough. I know that I don’t know enough to ever tune my own car but I think I could handle a single jingle build someday. Love the fast and furious Tach! Can’t say I didn’t have one 20 years ago. Uploaded at 3:18am? Can’t sleep Hunter? Me neither. What’s up with that EF?
4:49!! Well said ì also agree with saving parts to keep prices down. Times are changing fast. Hondas are going up in prices. You dropped alot of gems . Thank you.
I am so excited to see that mustang go down the track. That is a nice mustang with the black leather interior and everything. Its definitely an upgrade from the red fox body.
I got the same setup well the motor b18b1 learned a lot thanks 🙏🏽 man for real kinda new but I got a lot of help behind me but these videos help me out a lot 💯🙏🏽💪🏽
I'm so glad that I found your channel , it's so informative and you explain everything so that I can understand as a noob being haha.Thank you from The Netherlands🇱🇺 P.S. I just got a brand new Vems af gauge as a gift.
Correction on the skunk2 Pro Series intake manifold. They have a much larger volume inside and you can not bore them for a 74mm (3") throttle body. This you can not do to a very restricted B16 intake manifold. There is a significant difference between the skunk2 and oem B16
That's what I did on mine I wired in a flex fuel sensor and got it tuned for 91 pump and E85 lol even though all I've been running is E85 I did splash $2 of 91 in the other day after topping off on E85 lol
Sure you know this but good info if you don't. All vehicles sold in the us after 1986 have fuel systems compatible with e85. The didn't have to make them run happy on e85 but as far as pumps, tanks, lines, injectors their all compatible with e85.
Do you think the lag might have been caused by the dinky 3lb waste gate spring not sealing with such low spring pressure. Sure the solenoid seals it shut, but it needs boost pressure to put more pressure on the top of the gate, which it doesn't have in the low end. If it was me I'd run an 8lb spring
I love that old regal in your shop. Those cars are so comfortable to ride in. It would be cool to see you do some stuff to it too. I dont know if you have done anything to it yet but it definitely needs a turbo.
Putting the stock intake manifold back on would help the mid range wake back up. That manifold is meant to make power up around 8k. Long runner = low rpm and short for high rpm. It’s a trade off
Have you seen the runners on the pro series there longer then stock I picked up from 3500 rpm to redline my switch to a ported pro series not cut but just cleaned at 5 k rpm I picked up 25 whp and at redline and close to 400 at redline it made 365 on 15 psi and 401 whp just from manifold change the race style manifolds make power up top these one are almost the same lengths as stock just a bit longer mine is on a h22 and they are way longer then stock
@@hseriesonlymonctonnb1181 those are some good gains from a manifold. Vtec engines like the B and H series have significantly more cam duration on the big lobe. That’s why those engines breathe so well and a ton of power with little effort. The non-vtec b series engines have terrible cam specs in comparison, so those engines should have matching cam and intake manifold specs for the desired operating range of the engine
Im having the same issue with the boost controller i put 70% duty cycle and nothing, i played around with the frequency and at 32 Hz and 45% i was able to get the solenoid to work. I went from 5psi to 7.9psi. Do you have any tips? i'll try to look for boost leaks today
Quick question about adjusting the fuel pressure like that. When adjusting the fuel pressure, are you adjusting for atmospheric pressure-no vacuum/no boost, or are you accounting for elevation and all that when you set it to 40? I feel like the 1:1 ratio would be affected if you had 40 psi at say -15 vacuum as it would rise over 40 psi at 0 pressure. Or does that not matter? And a follow up question. When you're tuning your cruising a/f do you have to mess with tip-in at all to cover that moment of going lean/rich or are you just adjusting your VE to hit target? Thanks.
