My guess is a den area/ family room given it has a built in desk for possibly a PC. Very innovative layout. I haven't seen Redmond homes in years

I really like the layout of this home. The built in desk area, and the sunroom too. Just needs updates in the kitchen counters.

I have a 94 double wide, commodore and it doesn’t look as outdated as the one youre looking at.😮 wouldn’t that be awesome to create your own Trailer? I ,mean they do it for houses. When I was 24 I purchased a new trailer for 23 grand. I could pick my rug color and sink ,wallpaper…even outside color. (Imagine anxiously waiting for your new home to be gray in color, not like puke. I thought I was imagining this, but the guy said there is no way it would leave the lot with the wrong color. Well I was right lol

My first guess would be it is a formal dining room, until I saw the desk. It could be an office, sunroom, dining, or media room! I like it anyway! I would use it as a craft room though! Plenty of light, and it's close to the kitchen. I really like this floor plan. I could have so much fun renovating this one! It's fabulous for someone without kids. Single person.

This floor plan is basically the same as the one my mom had. The first owner used that front room as her sewing room, when my mom bought that mobile home she used that as her TV room. I love that mobile home it seemed very spacious and that was in the 90s when she purchased it

I found this interesting - I genuinely thought the “tin cans” were long gone by the mid 90s, and replaced with modern vinyl sided/asphalt roofed units. Who the hell was buying tin sided units in 1999? I can’t imagine there was much in the way of cost savings… on another note, my parents bathroom in our 1998 Liberty double-wide had the same countertops as this one - that weird “watercolor floral pinkish purply” finish. Love these videos, keep ‘em coming!!

There’s a tour on UA-cam of a 2008 in the south and it still has the aluminum siding and the interior storm windows. I guess in the south the lowest budget ones went on for a long time! In northern climates theirs sometimes an 80s model with aluminum but that’s about it.

Ron should never doubt Donnie's ability to know the year of manufacture! 😅 Fun to see a different layout! Thanks for taking us along. 😃
🤔 Kind of reminds me of a game my wife and I play at thrift stores that have clothes patterns. We try to guess the year the pattern was published. Some are easy to get close (think 1960's) but some seem easy to guess but can be tricky if they are a kind of throwback design! 🤓

  • @brandonbishop1500

As for the “graceland” windows - even as a kid, I always felt these were “a wealthy man’s idea of what a poor man believes a wealthy man would have in their house.” I just chock it up to the myriad of head-scratching design choices these builders throw into their homes. In the 1970s it was vinyl padded trim, shag carpeting, and brown paneling. Today, it’s grey on grey, rolled vinyl flooring throughout, and plastic farmhouse sinks.

    Hello Danny
From the looks of it, it looks like they put two mobiles homes together! That room is probably a dinning room, so they wouldn't take up space in that kitchen with a table! It's a long mobile home and you can tell from the outside they may have added an extra piece to it
In my opinion! Have a great day yal 😊

Interesting model I'd figured out that even though the roof is the way it is that the rest of the Homewood speak for itself it certainly does I enjoy your channel you actually spend great time with your subscribers and viewers and take your time instead of doing an 8 minute walk through well but I'm just saying it's better quality videos and much more enjoyable than some other videos the truth is I like them all

Where I'm from in the mid nineties a lot of 16x90 single wides were popular. Most had 4 bedrooms and a few were 5 bedrooms. Another thing that was popular in my area back then was actually considered a multi section, but it was a single wide with one extra room on the front with a large deck. The room was usually a large fancy kitchen. Leaving more room in the living room and often a fourth bedroom. I have never seen one of those as a repo in my area or anywhere. Back then you didn't have to finance your land as a package not even the large double wides, but back then a fancy 28x80 was about $60k or less. I wish the old layouts were still available but with the modern finishes and appliances.

    • @mybrotherdonnie
      @mybrotherdonnie  Місяць тому

You could probably custom order it. I didn’t know they went longer than an 80. They would probably have to to get a five bedroom.

@mybrotherdonnie I haven't seen a 90 footer since the late nineties. I'm from Tuscaloosa, AL I don't know if they were available in all areas, but they were popular back then in Tuscaloosa. I hope one shows up for you to see and share with us. I love these videos. I don't why, but they are more fascinating than the new ones. Perhaps it's a stroll down memory lane. Only in my memories they weren't rode hard and put up wet. Lol

I used to have a 1998 Redman and it was the more classic layout, but I had an octagonal island in the kitchen, and the laundry was in between the kitchen and the living room, wrapped in cabinets, kind of like the one's between the kitchen and sunroom in this one.

Just like y'all were talking about on those light tan walls...is what I meant. LOL. That ratty 'ol master bath for today's renter/buyer, I'd put in a double sink, tear out that big useless garden tub and put in a walk in shower and move the toilet over where that shower is now. This model doesn't add up. Built in '99 but it has that metal roof? I have never seen any modular home from the late 90s with a roof like that. I almost wonder if this was a special order unit, and to save money on the build they went with a old style metal roof vs a regular shingled roof. Metal Roofs would be loud when it rains.

    • @djrickyb

Yes. My Mother is living in a 2001 Double Wide. It started falling apart in 2016. The plumbing and pipes on these houses are CHEAP. All the fittings, pipes, super cheap parts. My Parents had multiple calls to Plumbers to fix things between 2016 and 2022. Water would get into the flooring/carpet and stuff had to be replaced. The floor in the kitchen right now is warped, and has been warped for years. The toilet in the back bathroom almost fell through the floor. My sister put 2x4 wood down. Currently awaiting on a mobile home repair company to come out and redo their bathroom. They live in South Delaware, and it is very hard to find good help. Scheduling them to do work is weeks out, then they cancel on you the day before the day they are supposed to come out. Very annoying. I will say that the cold winters in Delaware a few miles from the Ocean probably have a more negative affect on the longevity of a mobile home compared to North Carolina or South Carolina, or other areas down south. Her energy bills are very very high in the winter time too. $500+ a month, and her house is still cold! First 14 years were great! 2015 the AC went out, and then major plumbing issues started in 2016. Major issue every 12-18 months since then it seems. My Dad Had to have the Septic Tank Pump replaced before he passed away in 2021. My Mom had the roof replaced after a high wind storm damaged it beyond repair. Insurance company said her roof should have been replaced at least 4 years prior so they only covered 62% of it. So at least it has a new roof now. They had some roof shingles replaced two times prior to that a few years back. So the roof lasted like 15 -16 years before it needed replacement. I believe these homes are designed to last 15 years and that's it before replacements and maintenance gets expensive.
