I am living in a 1995 which I bought in 1995 for $17,000 Yes! We have put about 15,000 into it over the years and very happy with it paid for with land. If mobile home manufacturers would put 2000 more into cheap things they are calling luxury it would be worth it but not 70 or $80,000 they are asking for these...lol
I love seeing how much home can be put into the single wide mobile homes! And so luxurious compared to what they looked like in the 1970's! Thanks for what you do, Chance!
@paulabYaYa I think you're confused about the quality of old trailers. I grew up with trailers living in the country and they are definitely better today in every way.
@@zed4229 the one I was raised in was very well constructed. My dad sold it in the 80’s and another family lived in in for several years. Maybe it depended on who built them.
I saw 2 things missing that I would find I need... a coat closet at your point of entry and a utility closet for broom, mop and bucket and vacuum cleaner (minimally!)
This is definitely a unique home. The lack of a dining room could be a dealbreaker for some, but for me, I don’t mind. The kitchen is great, but the rest of the rooms seem very small. I used to live in a mobile home, and the bedrooms were much bigger. And my master bathroom had a deep garden tub AND a separate shower. It was a 16’ x 80’.
My grandparents had similar floor plan in the early 70's. My dad's parents had the kitchen at the front with a bar that divided the kitchen and living room area and my mom's parents had a similar plan to this one. Back then trailer houses had character and wasn't a bland box with boxes inside for rooms.
At this point in my life, this is my dream home. I enjoy looking at the double and triple wide mobile homes with all of the extras, but honestly I feel that people choose mobile homes usually because they're an affordable option. I don't want to pay $300,000 or more for a mobile home. $90,000 is a great price for this and I would love to have it.
I feel what your saying. I use to live in a single wide. I prefer a double wide or modular just because I like the Sheetrock walls but I like the price of these single wides. With my income I can’t afford over a 120,000
I imagine the newer ones are better made. The older ones I remember being in had weak floors and the curtains moved in the wind with the doors and windows closed. More like a camper than a house.
@@stevenwagner9912 I've been in a couple show models and they really didn't feel much different than a 'sticks n bricks. The drywall vs panels makes a huge difference.
The bedroom closets should have double rods. I like the layout but I would have to make sure my wheelchair would go down the hallway. What is on the walls, flooring and countertops are the ugliest I've ever seen. Where are you located? Oblivious not in California.
@@terriegordon6360 I don't use a wheelchair, and although I recognize you would view the layout differently I wasn't looking at it from that perspective. I think that the 3rd bedroom takes away from other living space that could be used more functionally, (example;) bigger Master Suite and/or more space for the laundry, (example;) replacing the desk with a hanging clothes cabinet with laundered clothes. But Some people may need a 3rd bedroom
Nice little home. I like the 2 outlets on the island. I'd turn the first bedroom into a pantry/storage room since it's kinda small space for a bedroom, maybe an office or something.
I agree. I have never, nor will I ever buy any home that does not have a roomy pantry. Utilization of the first small bedroom for a pantry and partial walk in closet for myself, would be the solution. I honestly believe that every woman, maybe even men, just have to have a pantry. A pantry just seems to solve so many problems.
I'm in Ireland, our houses are bricks and mortar, so I couldn't imagine living in a place like this. I'd be terrified it would blow away. Its my first time seeing inside one of these, its bigger than I'd thought and the kitchen looks nice.
They come in much bigger sizes too. Can even get a 2 story one. The mobile homes are tied down using heavy metal straps connected to anchors driven into the ground. The number and type used depends on the size and type of the mobile home and where you live. Areas that are known for high winds such as tornadoes and hurricanes, require more tie downs and types of tie downs than areas that don't. All mobile homes are required to be tied down according to strict codes set by our federal, state, and local governments here in the USA.
@@gigicostlow4414my childhood mobile home was a older model I think it was in the 1960's. When we moved it the county required a full concrete pad with tied down points in the concrete. Ive never asked my dad why it was done like that. Your comment made me think of how our was. I also wanted to add that yes there are requirements and guidelines set in place for mobile homes. But there are those that counties who dont do inspections so there for many dont do tie downs. In fact the county I live in now dont do inspections for mobile home placements on personal property. Now if they are rental homes that accepts government payments for rent then yes they are inspected. It blows my mind seeing mobile homes on bricks that are stacked taller than I am without being properly tied down.
I love this!! Since I spend most of my time in the kitchen, where the living area is, I would make it my dining room, and have a comfortable chair and ottoman incorporated with it. One of the bedrooms I would make into the sitting room, a nice couch etc. this is beautiful
Great when the kids are small to have the bedrooms together, mine had the master with jacuzzi tub at one end a larger than those bedrooms and a 4 piece bathroom at the other. Maybe the spacious kitchen and master took space from the other bedrooms?
It is different. I would remove the island and use a dining table, make the entrance to the main bedroom closet in the bedroom, and the vanity needs some drawers.. overall pretty nice for a single wide. Oh, and lose the hallway desk.

This is a very cleverly designed floor plan. I would change the desk nook area into storage, to have somewhere to put a vacuum, broom and mop. The island is huge, so I would make it two levels: about one-third as a normal island with no seating, and on the side where the left stool is (but facing the fridge), put a drawer microwave so you don't need to take up counter space with the microwave. Then lower the right two-thirds of the island to create a table height area where four chairs can fit around it, or even five with a chair on the end. If you need to extend the island out a little further that's fine, as there is plenty of room between the kitchen and the living room. I would bring the upper cabinets in the kitchen all the way to the ceiling for more storage space (harder to reach, so for seldom-used items). If you moved the master closet to where the closet/water heater/linen are, you could easily access it from the bedroom and reconfigure the master bath to have a much bigger tub/shower with the water heater tucked away in the back corner. But overall, excellent design.
You could put it over a basement. Put the heat/AC and water heater in it. Then you would have a couple more closets. You could leave the basement unfinished and finish it as you can afford.
Luxurious for a single-wide mobile home! I would suggest trying to have showers "walk-in" because that's what people prefer these days. They don't have to be huge...just a lower step in to avoid the big step getting in. Not having a separate dining area could be a problem for people. I have 10 adults and if you start including the significant others that's a lot of people to cram into seating area so I don't know what I would do unless setting up extra tables for those times would leave enough room for the space to be functional.. Possibilities. The addition of a little bonus area back by the first bedroom is great! Perfect for a home office for a craft area which is big these days. The bedrooms are very small. It's good you only sleep there but from the perspective of making beds that can be real tricky in a mobile home. Some of us are no longer able to navigate those small spaces. Please, when you design these spaces, consider cleaning these spaces too.
If we could have those in UK, I'd turn the couch to the blank wall and the chairs under the window with a coffee table/ book storage between. Perfect for 2 or family of 3 & baby !!

Front End Living Room! 🙂😄😁 I would move the Front Door to the Kitchen! Missing Entertainment Center w DVD Bookcases! 📚 Nice Computer Desk in Hallway! 💻 Tile Shower 🚿 I would add Custom Cabinet Closet 🚾 in Master Bedroom!
I like the accents; the pattern on the countertops and on the walls in the bathrooms. Nice kitchen. The only problem I have is the hallway is a bit narrow. I would need a little more room to get a bed and other furniture in the rooms. Great price!
The best and most interesting MH I ever visited had 2 kitchens, and it was an incredible double wide. Back in the late 70s we had a single wide specal ordered no hal mobile home that I miss to this day. Front was master bedroom with half bath, living room, dinning room, gally kitchen, with pantry and laundry, family room full bath and two good size bedrooms. Such a cool set up

@CoffeeCrazy yes. It is where the interior wall prefab panels come together. They are already covered in wallpaper, the the joints are covered by the little strips. You get used to it quickly and don't notice. They are paneled this way for movement. They are delivered by semi and can be moved. A rigid wall would crack badly with all the movement. Hope that helps.
@@CoffeeCrazy No. I can't believe they're still using those cheap vinyl wall panels in some of these homes! The one I bought in '99 had real sheetrock tape and texture walls over 2×6 construction. I wouldn't buy a home with those cheap walls no matter how great the rest of it was. 😖
Interesting floor plan. The thing with a single wide is to avoid wasted space. That's why two bedrooms up front gets rid of a long hallway. Drop the island, add more drawer over on the counter top side of the kitchen then you could have a patio door. Basically an acceptable plan. I think you showed me one better.
@@cindyrinaldi3064 @johnmanthey2683 There is no dining table set in this smaller kitchen. The island is the only eating space for meals. And great storage. Genius. I guess you can just use t.v. trays in the living room area. LOL

I do like this. I don't generally like single width mobile homes due to the hallway feel. Long and narrow. This breaks it up nicely. Perfect for my husband and I, he'd have his music room and I can have a hobby room. I like the little office nook. Doesn't have to share the music or hobby room.

No.
I agree. Not need for that island

There is no dining table set in this smaller kitchen. The island is the only eating space for meals. And great storage. Genius. I guess you can just use t.v. trays in the living room area. LOL
I just ❤️ watching ur video's of these homes they are so beautiful thank you for ur time in doing these video's
It's lovely, I've not seen anything set up like that before. Thank you for sharing.
while floorplan is unique im not a fan of wasted space in homes, a lot of hallway could have been used as more room for that front bedroom
Beautiful home it’s beautiful 😊
Love the floor plan! Thanks for sharing!
That homework station is neat feature for your children
This is set very different, but do like it, nice to see wood flooring all the way through!
Combo kitchen & living room ....wow!!
wow this is great...the layout makes it feel like a MUCH larger home
Everyone needs drawers in bathrooms. It drives me crazy that most bathrooms don't have them.
Very homely design. Better than some I seen for a trailers!!!!
I like it.
Wow love this one great lay out
Glad you like it!
Love the video. Great mobile thanks so much for sharing it with us. The rooms were really nice. I love the kitchen was my favorite room. Can’t believe it was a single why it was so big and really.
I do like this. I don't generally like single width mobile homes due to the hallway feel. Long and narrow. This breaks it up nicely. Perfect for my husband and I, he'd have his music room and I can have a hobby room. I like the little office nook. Doesn't have to share the music or hobby room.
