  • In this video, I show you how I deep condition and steam my natural hair. if you have dry hair or low porosity hair this is for you!
Hair steaming is beneficial as the heat aids in hydrating dry hair leaving your parched tresses happy. The moist heat also encourages blood flow to circulate, promoting hair growth too! The steam lifts the hair cuticle allowing your treatments to penetrate deeply into the hair shaft helping to heal damaged hair.

I steam the bathroom with hot shower and stay in there for about 10-15 minutes 🤷🏾‍♀️. I'm on a budget 😂. But I love the way my hair feels when I use steam to help deep condition and to help refresh my wash and go's!

Steaming helps with elasticity. That’s why you’re hair is shrinking. It helped with the heat damage I had.

Haha I’ve been doing this for years. Im glad this had been put on UA-cam. I was wondering why their were no proper tutorials or examples for steaming natural hair. And I didn’t want to invest in a salon steamer. Facial steamers are legit ! It makes things easier,I never fuss with buying a lot of products I just put my leave in conditioner and steam my hair. It’s made my hair grow like crazy. I also steam my box braids too

How and why do you steam your box braids?

    • @ZQueenOfRandom

@@beingnaturall Synthetic hair can dry out your hair and prevent your own hair from absorbing any moisture. Steaming them helps keep your hair moisturized while braided up.

I've been doing this for some time now. The results are AMAZING. Hair is moisturized for a whole week. It does a great job at absorbing products into the hair. My last mistake was steaming my gel into my hair. It had no gel cast whatsoever so my wash and go got frizzy after day 3, still moisturized tho😊❤✌🏾

Steaming my hair never worked. My hair is so damn thick from the roots, and all it did was frizz it up. I have type 4a hair. I'm not sure if texture has anything to do with it.
When I want to deep condition my hair, I just do hot oil treatments before I style my hair. Which I do once every two months since it's always in protective styles.

I get the same frizzy results when I steam. I wonder if the stylist did it the wrong way... 🤔

There’s more than one way to deep condition/ moisturize hair. Part out a small section of your hair in the most dense area and try the maximum hydration method. Remember there’s always more than one way to do one thing.

Taming frizz works the same way as people hear train when they want sleek press and curls. Sometimes you don’t get the results on the first try. Sometimes it happens over several treatments.

Hey after deep conditioning it with the steamer did you rinse it out in cold or warm water??

I'm sure she used "cool/cold" water to close the hair cuticle in order to retain the moisture of the conditioner and steam.

How in the world do you put on a wig over all that hair?!😵 I would think the wig would look bulky due to the thickness of your hair 🤔 Love 💕 your hair 😍

I swear by steaming my hair, my Nan used to have a proper steamer in her hairdressers when I was a child and I always used to beg my mum to sit under it. Now she's retired I don't have access to a proper steamer so I've been using the blow-dryer/cap method but I definitely want to look into this as my hair loves a good steam! I do wonder if clothes steamers work just as well because I have one of those....

Clothes steamers work but they get extremely hot. It may not be the best thing to use.

@@ShaniqueBuntyn Thanks for the heads up I didn't think of that, I'll double check what temperature it goes up to before I let it touch my hair and if it's to high I'll go back to the face steamer!

@@rachaelb2729 please don't use a clothes steamer. Invest in a hair steamer. I gave myself heat damage from using a clothes steamer. Its not worth saving a few bucks.

@@hayabusahime Oh my gosh thanks for the heads up, I haven't even checked my clothes steamer yet but from yours and Shanique's message it doesn't seem worth the hassle to try.
