    I have very fine, low porosity, 4a -c hair and it is super protein sensitive. I had no idea why my hair was breaking off until i stopped doing protein treatments altogether. My hair HATES it and tangles immediately with itself after detangling in sections. If your hair is anything like mine, don't use it and stick to hot oil treatments once a month.

      @@sammy_longlegs that could be a sign of lack of proteins. However, it could also just be a sign of Hydro fatigue. If you are not consistently using a pre-poo on wash day- your curls/clumping could be suffering because of that. I personally wouldn’t recommend just jumping into protein treatments unless it’s a part of an established regimen. If you are not protecting your hair from Hydro fatigue, on wash day, you will suffer more breakage and damage after a pro Tien treatment.

      @@cookiedoughmonstertravels4469 thank you🫶🏾🫶🏾I did stop prepooing because stylist would say no oils. But when I would prepoo, my hair was at its best. I feel like if u wash n go a lot u need to prepoo. Cuz the constant wetting and drying is no good. This whole no oil trend doesn’t work for everyone. Oils are amazing lol.

    • @cookiedoughmonstertravels4469
      @cookiedoughmonstertravels4469 Рік тому +13

      @@sammy_longlegs unpopular opinion, possibly… But stylists are trash. They are not hair care specialists. They know how to style your hair. And in most cases, they are styling you straight into baldness. A hair care specialist in my opinion would not tell you no oils and any stylist you ever did would never see my hair again. Regardless of if you do wash and goes often, you should be pre-pooing before each wash day. That is the opportunities for you to de-tangle your hair without damage, for you to impart nourishment into your hair and scalp, that it has been lacking since the previous pre-poo or nursing wash day. Why would you go a month to month two weeks even without nourishing your hair and scalp? And btw, you are gorgeous! I checked out your modeling pics 💕

    • @Neesha242
      @Neesha242 Рік тому +3

      @@sammy_longlegs That can also be a sign that you need to clarify with a shampoo that has chelating agents. It’s so many possibilities. Also, cookie is right about hair stylists only being good at styling. They don’t know much about hair science. It’s actually a lot to know/learn about hair. So, I see why all of use say so many things, but what might work for someone else might not work for you depending on your hair type and the condition of your hair which causes so much confusion in the hair industry. I’ll say try different things and see what works best for your hair and stick to it. People don’t necessarily need to prepoo it just depends on their hair and how long you go without washing your hair.
      For me I had to clarify with chelating to see my curls again and then I retained moisture better because my hair started to absorb products and I deep conditioned, but my curls wouldn’t stay and became frizzy. So, I did the aphogee two step protein treatment. I used that after I got rid of all build up for it to work properly. Now my hair is much better. That process took me from low porosity hair to normal/high porosity hair.

    Hey can somebody tell me where i can buy protein stuff.. and the name of it...
    our hair is so complicated..
    don't know which way to turn..

    Thanks for the info.
    I find myself on a constant hunt for products that work for my hair.
    I tried Olaplex, which seemed nice, however not enough to justify the price. Then, I heard about lawsuits for adverse reactions.
    Just as I was about to try Curlsmith, I read the ingredients, and found a hydroxide product, which I remembered being told, was in relaxers. And, they too had articles on lawsuits.
    Now, I'm trying a product line called, "Earth Clean Beauty," which I've just used, for the first time.
    It seems to be o.k. .
    Is this a product line that you have heard of?
    And, if so, would the ingredient list make it one you might recommend?
    Thanks.

    💚 what to do if you don’t want your hair to spring up “”too much?” To have somewhat more enlongated curls?

    • @curlynella1011
      @curlynella1011 Рік тому +2

      shrinkage is a sign of healthy hair. If your hair naturally curly, it will spring up aka shrink. The only way to stop it is to damage it, use a lot of heat, avoid protein that gives it great elasticity or get a relaxer (shrugs).

    • @Magenta10144
      @Magenta10144 Рік тому

      @@curlynella1011 I know.. I know... that's why I wrote too much in quotes. because I'm grateful for my spring-up hair. I would never use relaxers or damage it just to have them more (irregularly) elongated.
      I just want to know if some gel or STYLING product would give me these results. There are so many thousands of products, I'm sure that there's something that can provide this effect, I just don't know them.
      Look, if you don't like to change up, non permanently your hair, is fine. But I like to Style my hair differently, and I also want to enjoy my length while curly, if possible not needing to stretch with heat. This doesn't mean that I would do *anything* to have elongated curls. 🤔

    • @star_Paws00
      @star_Paws00 Рік тому

      Try henna treatments. It protects the hair and may elongate the curl slightly. You can also braid or twist your hair as in protective styling. These are great alternatives to heat and chemicals and are healthy for your hair 😌

    Can someone please define "mushy"? Like how do I tell if my hair is just wet from the water or mushy? I am so confused with my hair, all the info I keep learning about wavy hair tells me my hair has every problem, it's dry, it's damaged, it has too much protein and not enough, it has too much moisture and not enough, Idk what to think or what to do...I am just so overwhelmed by all the contradicting info and advice available.

      For me it feels like wet tangled wool even after I use my conditioner. When I use protein treatments it feels a lot silkier when it’s wet.

    • @MsCrissell
      @MsCrissell Рік тому +1

      It will feel a little slimy but for me the biggest sign is the curl pattern. The coils are limp looking and are not springy and strong.

    I am so rough on my hair, always wear ponytails (not tight) however I don’t grease my hair either and I’m experiencing breakage. I have hair middle of my back length and I’m so sad it’s breaking off. Do I have to cut it all off or should I just try to repair it?

      I'm thinking of hair that has been hit with Nair. That hair feels mushy. When removing hair on my upper thighs, I remember getting Nair hair remover too close to hair on my privates and that initial mushy feeling of the hair before it went down the drain. I almost fainted because I didn't like the hairless look. Nair breaks the disulfide bonds of keratin in hair.

    I asked a stylist how to treat “protein overload” & she said she never heard of that😅?! My hair tends to stretch & snap in the shower when using my hair pik to detangle. I get out, then brush more conditioner throughout my hair with a tangle tamer it does the same. I do a protein treatment it knocks all my curls out. Then I look like a wet dog. What I’m doing wrong 😂
