Great lesson, thanks. You can pick out the bass riff directly from the D chord too by bringing your pinky to the g string on the 4th fret and it sounds really cool because you have the riff as well as the D chord rhythm. Thanks again
@davejonesguitar I take it if you like the Jam you like the Small Faces; If so can you do a equally accessible tutorial for All or Nothing and Tin Solider;? If you did you'd be a You Tube legend for sure, since no other guitar teacher is willing to break down the body work of those two classics. Nice lesson worth watching just to take away the know- how for that cool intro. Cheers
I'm a beginer and have learnt it so whatcha on about this is a piece of piss Weller's music is simple and he is hardly renowned for his guitar prowess hench why you hear every other busker rattling out the odd Jam number. There isnt even a guitar solo in there , string bends , hammer on pull offs etc. Songs the Jam the Clash etc are ideal and fun for beginner six stringers.
My band gave me 2 nights to learn this and have it ready for a gig. Thanks to your tutorial I got it down easily! Thank you so much!
The amount of explanation you manage to compress into less than 6' is impressive. Great work.

Great stuff Dave - I really appreciate you going through all of us...big fan of yours in Canada!
Very well done Dave! Congratulations and Mr. Weller is a great songwriter.
Knew most of the chords already but thanx for clearing up the bridge!!! Spot on brutha!! tbyrd from L.A.
Great lesson. Many thanks.
The F#m and Em in lines 1 and 2 of the verses are A string rooted if you are doing it like Weller. Also the intro is around Dsus chords up the neck
cheers to you too ! thanks !
this helped heaps thanks mate
