61 year old saw them in late 70s de mont fort poly , was known for gigs , the white top shoes old nf days pre punk if I'm mistaken great days memories teenage days my friends , 🧡 big love to all enjoy life music takes us back to places❤
Magic. Takes me back to my college days in Shipley. I can literally taste and smell the fish and chips we had at dinner time and taste the beer the we had in the pub listening to this on the juke box. Then we'd go to Ray Smiths Musical Supplies across the road and I'd try to play a bit of Jam on one of the very old guitars he had hanging on the wall. Not very well I might add. I have the same Marshall amp Paul loves and had reissued with the mod logo on it. Great post. Weller I gotta go now.
the mod farther still smashing it 40 years later,a boss time to grow up in British music was just brilliant Fek im old,,,lucky its just on the outside xxx
My dad advice always rings in my head saying when you know you'll know plays over and over like on repeat but not on repeat I think you know and I already know but we soldier on because so many depend on us and for what?? Just because... thanks Brother for the wicked inspiration bless you KAL
Better stop dreaming of the quiet life 'Cause it's the one we'll never know And quit running for that runaway bus 'Cause those rosy days are few And stop apologizing for the things you've never done 'Cause time is short and life is cruel but it's up to us to change This town called Malice Rows and rows of disused milk floats Stand dying in the dairy yard And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk Bottles to their hearts Hanging out their old love letters on the line to dry It's enough to make you stop believing when tears come fast and furious In a town called Malice, yeah Struggle after struggle, year after year The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice I'm almost stone cold dead In a town called Malice, ooh yeah A whole street's belief in Sunday's roast beef Gets dashed against the Co-op To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear It's a big decision in a town called Malice, ooh yeah The ghost of a steam train echoes down my track It's at the moment bound for nowhere just going round and round Playground kids and creaking swings Lost laughter in the breeze Could go on for hours and I probably will But I'd sooner put some joy back in this town called Malice, yeah ooh In this town called Malice, yeah In this town called Malice, ooh yeah
Really brung his jam voice back in recent years. Love it. Would like to see more work with foxton as the last stuff sounded brilliant on both their albums

Weller and The Jam changed my life in the late 70s. For me the greatest songwriter from Britain in modern times. Oh and what a great player!

@matthewjones7916 Gary Barlow is a fantastic pianist and songwriters, as is Justin Bieber
@@Noisehead101 Barlow is a good artist. Not so sure about Bieber. But none of them could touch someone like Paul Weller
@@colinmatts Barlow is a better songwriter than Weller, no doubt.
@@Noisehead101 One's mans meat

He's west of Ireland bound very soon. We'll sing his songs long into the night.
A lot of these comments were apparently posted from a town called Malice.
There should be more songs that mention the Co-Op...I like the Co-Op.

This works. He sure could write a song
Better stop dreaming of the quiet life
'Cause it's the one we'll never know
And quit running for that runaway bus
'Cause those rosy days are few
And stop apologizing for the things you've never done
'Cause time is short and life is cruel but it's up to us to change
This town called Malice
Rows and rows of disused milk floats
Stand dying in the dairy yard
And a hundred lonely housewives clutch empty milk
Bottles to their hearts
Hanging out their old love letters on the line to dry
It's enough to make you stop believing when tears come fast and furious
In a town called Malice, yeah
Struggle after struggle, year after year
The atmosphere's a fine blend of ice I'm almost stone cold dead
In a town called Malice, ooh yeah
A whole street's belief in Sunday's roast beef
Gets dashed against the Co-op
To either cut down on beer or the kids new gear
It's a big decision in a town called Malice, ooh yeah
The ghost of a steam train echoes down my track
It's at the moment bound for nowhere just going round and round
Playground kids and creaking swings
Lost laughter in the breeze
Could go on for hours and I probably will
But I'd sooner put some joy back in this town called Malice, yeah ooh
In this town called Malice, yeah
In this town called Malice, ooh yeah
