Hello Mr. C....! When playing the melody line at 7th & 9th frets on the D & G strings.....instead of the bend up or slide up to 11th to get the F# note why not just play it on the B string at 7th fret?

You can, but I like the phrasing of a bend or a slide. Just my personal preference
