Just in case you didnt know the Aer travel pack 3 is being released on 21st March. I think im going to get one as they seem to have solved some of the travel pack 2's issues. Compression straps have been moved and load lifters have been added
I’m no digital nomad but I do bring the laptop and all the accessories to and from work. I like the “less is more” approach of the Bellroy Transit workpack. Looks profesh, just the right amount of simple organization and capacity, and it’s comfortable to carry - although I’m not sure I’d take it on a hike. As a work pack it checks all the boxes for me.
I have a suggestion for a backpack review. It's called Barner Valley, 20L I think. It's a new bag still in the pre-order phase from a Barcelona company. They say it's built specifically for the digital generation. Its looks resemble the nomatic backpack but with more than just black on black on black lol. There are some unique modular features on it too from camera to travel to food. I think you'd like it as a digital nomad who carries an array of things.
Does anyone here have experience with a "Mark Ryden" backpack and can recommend the brand? Cause I just can't find any helpful reviews about it, nothing is similar to all the amazing videos on this channel
I enjoy your channel & try to support when I can (still trying to use your link to get the Modern Dayfarer tech pouch, but that thing's been out of stock for about a decade & a half now). Unrelated to this video, but I know the Aer Tech Sling 2 is one of your favorite slings. I saw an Alpaka Alpha Messenger sling that has similar aesthetics (slim profile, but unlike the Aer, it has an adjustable shoulder padding so that you can sling to the left or right shoulder). Not sure if you guys are planning on reviewing it, but what are your thoughts on that one?
Dang! I had no idea the modern Dayfarer tech pouch has been out of stock, thanks for the heads up. As for Alpaka sling it’s def on my radar, hopefully I can do a review of it sometime this summer
Hi all! I'm feeling a bit lost in finding a replacement for my very old Ares Backpack. Maybe this lovely community can tell me some go-to ones which will fit my large EDC stuff: - one 16 inch laptop - one 14 inch laptop - one 11 inch tablet - one mini logitech keys keyboard - one MX mouse + laptop stand, along with a lot of chargers for both laptops and tablet
very specific stack, not a lot of bags out there that can handle so much tech. Maybe check out Linus Tech Tips backpack or Graphene-X Limitless - neither are amazing but they cater to lots of tech and we've done reviews on both!
I feel Aer is so close to creating the perfect packs for me but they fall just short. I wish they would made the interior of their packs with better quality materials. The exterior of their packs are perfect with high quality material and straps/padding but it’s just a let down when you zip it open and see the same level of quality was not matched for the interior. But tbh I’m having a hard time finding any pack whose materials are super high quality interior + exterior. Companies love using X-PAC mainly for the exterior where it doesn’t look that professional, sturdy or clean IMO. But I think it’s better suited as a HQ light weight interior weatherproof material. My ideal pack would be a 1680 cordura on the exterior + weather proof X-PAC interior combo (especially the laptop compartment). If you do know of packs to check def let me know!
Xpac interior would be crazy heavy. If you want waterproofness then check out the Mission Workshop Rhake - we just shot a review last week and should be live soon. The lining is waterproof as hell. As for premium interior materials - check out Boundary and Tortuga. Also, the bag that I’m making will have the best interior materials in the world - it’s epic what we’ve put in there 💪🏻
Hi! What do you think about Bange digital nomad backpack? Do you have any experience with bange products? Is it just another chinesse company not worth interest or maybe something interesting? btw great videos!
Have you tried any of the Db (formerly known as Douchebags) backpacks for digital nomad travel? I've ordered two recently but haven't traveled with either yet. Both are kind of minimalist 17L and 20L. I was just curious because I haven't seen any reviews of their stuff through a digital nomad lens.
Like I said - these packs are the ‘best’ meaning they are made with super high quality materials and they’ll last for years. But they are really pricey. Check out the Arcido Akra - it’s a great alternative that’s a cheaper price. I love that pack
Hey Aaron, I'm looking for a specific type of backpack and could really use your advice! I'm moving to the UK and so I need a bag that is highly hydrophobic; I finally found one that ticked all the boxes - the Arcteryx Granville 16L (VERY water resistant, great compartmentalisation, great size and pretty stylish) - although they don't ship to the country I'm currently in.. do you have any recs on the best alternatives to this bag? or any great water resistant bags at this price point?
Very helpful. That Capsule pack is on final sale right now. I picked up the 40L version (I'm a bigger guy, some of these backpacks looks too small across the shoulders for me). It was between that and the tortuga 40 but being on sale makes the decision easy. I have an old Mr. Davis 30L carry on, was really square but decent in function, 30L is a smidge small (bigger guy bigger clothes). For work, I'm very minimalist, I just need a laptop, an small umbrella or maybe a packable, rainjacket. I have an old kenneth cole leather briefcase satchel, but your channel made me reconsider carrying options for my work commute, since the workplace is no longer so formal. I've been eyeing the Aer travel sling, since I'm looking for the smallest 15" laptop carry possible and over the shoulder vs messenger bag carry options seem nice, can help me decrease my footprint on a crowded train.
Would be keen to get your opinions on the Nordepack and Code of Bell X-case for Digital Nomad purposes, the Nordepack i think is based in Hong kong so probably easy for you to get (are you guys based there?) and is expandable, the X-case is also expandable
Hello I was wondering if I could get your help. I’m going a month long trip out of country I have watched so many videos and I’m video out and stressed. I was wondering what backpack would you recommend? I’ve watched your videos but still unsure and figured I should ask. 😮💨
Thanks for asking! If you pack light then consider the Aer Travel Pack 3 or the Minaal carry on 3.0. If you are a heavier packer, consider the Tortuga Outbreaker 45L. Those are some of my faves :)
@@Nomads.Nation its great that you are doing a review of bags which others aren’t but 21 minutes for 7 bags is a bit too long(imo). Researches wrap their thesis in 15 minutes and bags are taking 21 minutes?? I know there is a lot owed to marketing but the length might be hindering the view count especially if there is an in-depth review of each one available additionally. But thanks anyway for this info that you provided via this video.
Tortuga Outbreaker 45L vs 35L... I've heard that the 45L doesn't "fly" as carry-on on some airlines. Isn't the 45L too big to carry on to some international flights? It's over the size limit. I travelled Europe this summer, flying numerous times with the 35L, and never had a problem on various flights. The 35L is bulky enough so I can't imagine traveling with an even bigger box on my back. Also, minimalist hands-free backpack travel lets you feel vastly more free and superior to other humans, LOL. Any thoughts about the new (2023) Tortuga line?
It all depends on the airline, but the 35L should be good on most non-budget airlines. Be sure to subscribe to our email list to learn more about the backpack we are building!
I have traveled a lot with my Targus mobile tech traveler XL (30L) with no major issues, I love it has wheels but you can also convert it to a regular backpack. I can fit clothes for one week, laptop a pair of barefoot shoes and some flip flops. I would like it to have more compartments in the laptop side of the backpack, specially because I own other targus backpacks and they definitely have more small compartments
hahaha, a conference in Belgium, that's exactly what I'm doing early Sept! Went out and bought the Wandrd Duo, though. Fantastic. You gave it a huge thumbs up (I agree) in our review. Was it too old to include in this one or do you consider it more of a camera bag? I use my Wandrd for everyday commute to the office and will take it to my first conference in....... BRUSSELS! Damn, killing it with the puns!! 😂I freaking adore the WANDRD Duo, it’s a great everything pack. Beach, camera, business, and everything in between. Your comment makes me realise I should have included it in the review which Bruges my ego a little bit
i'm looking for a packpack to go to work every day. It most look somewhat elegant and has to have an extremely protective laptop compartment. please help with a recomendation
I have been watching your videos for almost a year and I like your opinion on bags that I’m not planning to buy because you make me see what is important in each type of bag, sling or backpack. I bought the aer for pack 3 and the city sling after seeing your reviews, keep doing the great work to all of you guys.

Minaal Carry on 2.0 wins as best “one bag” for me.
More minimal than he TP2 - but both are solid !
It’s a toss up for sure - can’t go wrong with either!
You should try reviewing the Reika Travel Pack- I’d love to hear your take on that kickstarter. Only a couple UA-camrs reviewed it so far.
