    I can't tell you how much i love this series. I have no interest in barra swapping a vs but the work George has put into this build is awesome not to mention his on screen manner and the banter between you pair

    That DSR box is doing a great job. Dave & Sturt know whats going on, don’t put a TH400 or Glide in them, these box’s work! Trans brake now too!

    Can anyone explain why exactly the drive belt got stripped? I have only ever seen this on engines with blowers for the obvious reason of the enormous load placed by the blower, but PS pump, alternator?

    Bennys Custom Works has made a custom pulley tensioner for the barra to accommodate for the bigger belt.

    European class my friend George, quality, attention to detail, retaining as much as factory as possible. Now mate don’t go crazy and tub the rear end. My initial thoughts were a simple set of period correct interceptor rims, would finishing it off. Keep as what can be achieved, that the factory did not. Work out a way to put power steering on. Come on man, every man and his dog is building solid engine mounted drag cars, that will not age gracefully. Keep the class and let jippos build their high horse power tractors. If I want to see a high horse power tractor there are plenty of UA-cam channels doing that. You did a great job on the VT and showed your skills on getting that V6 to rumble. Leave this as a nice car.

    Man, what a build, detail in the interior alone is magic..
    Hoping to do close to similar numbers with my L67 TT, should be completed in 3 months..
    then attention to detail for the body and interior after that.
    Spectacular car.

    You know, the thing I always wondered about with these Barra motors was; Why didn't they reverse the inlet/exhaust layout so that the exhaust doesn't have to squeeze through past the steering. 2JZ's work great in an American Supra shell, but have the same problem a R/H/D shell... RB's have it set up well for Aussie and Japanese cars. The Barra was always going to be in R/H/D cars- why not set it up like an RB... I understand it's an evolution of an old American motor, I just think it would have been worth doing...

    I get a bit worried about the stock axles in my old R31 (It's parked up, has been for a while now. But I've got a itch I need to scratch 😂)- and you guys are carrying a fair bit more weight... I would hate to snap an axle and have the wheel part ways with the car... At least it's more likely to break in the first 60ft, wouldn't want that happening in the top end...

    stupid question but can you run vt brakes on stock vs master cylinder or does that need to be upgraded?

      Yes you can as the VS master is basically a smaller version of the VT one, exact same design otherwise. So in fact you can bolt a VT master straight on to the VS booster which obviously will be the way to go. But you will need to swap the VS res over to the VT master to look correct as the VT one is at the wrong angle relative the body.
      I am actually looking at deleting my booster and going the Wilwood master route as 1. I will have next to no vacuum. 2. tall rocker covers won't clear any of the boosters, certainly make removing the covers impossible for the rocker lash adjustments.

      @@3800S1 this issue I’m having is if I swap to the vt master cylinder I have clearance issues with my intake piping (I run a reversed plenum as I’m turbo) so I want to see if I can get away with runnnng the vs master cylinder with vt calipers on the front

      @@TheWretchedWorld Yes, VS master and booster will work ok. Not as good as VT master and booster but a lot better than say VB-VR booster/master.

      @@TheWretchedWorld Yeah VS to VT wasn't too different, same new design just VT had larger cylinders. VR was still the old design from at least VL, the tandem booster was even older, similar all the way from VB.
