Been waiting sooooo long for this video!! But can't believe yas left out the cost of the motor🤦♂️ I don't wanna know about the box or fuel system, turbo or fmic etc etc we just wanna know how much that motor was to build, spesh when you're gunna crack that 1000hp mark!

@@myrage81 sounds about right. If you can't build a 1k hp Barra for less than 2k you're doing it wrong.
Hey boys - Im very close to throwing a FG gas motor into my FG and wanting around 350kw... Local workshops are saying gas motors are just a crutch on the way to fully built and that the gas motors regularly blow rings.
Obviously a gas swap works out far cheaper than a full built, can you throw your views on the above?
Don't know alot about the green tops but you might find they are higher compression ratio, they will be more prone to detonation, still can be done, will be much safer on higher octane fuel like e85

How did you mate a 6R80 to a Barra?
It's the factory ZF trans.
@Fullboost I thought I heard modified 6R80 to fit? I am in the US and I can get a Barra ZF 6 from importer here but upgrades need to be done to handle that kind of power? I am swapping a NA FG Barra into my 1972 Dodge D100 would like a 6 speed automatic behind it.
Unless you plan on building that NA engine the factory ZF will be fine.
The car in this video uses a modified 6R80 trans controller.
@Fullboost Yes I have Rods pistons oil pump gears studs to do NA-T conversion….
The std ZF will handle around 600whp but like many things it's all how you treat it.

Not a fan sorry. The Barra is the best Australian built engine ever yes but hear me out.
People have been doing mix and match for decades. In the early 90's some put rotary engines in Gemini's and yeah they were cool but not a Rotary. Personally it would have been better to power up the Isuzu motor that came out in it. Reliable motor by the way.
So as awesome as this car is sure to become it will in turn lose it's soul to me.
Other's will totally disagree and fair enough. To each their own. I would rather put a GM LSA in it.
But the barra is cheap shit.its never going to be anywhere near the jdm giants.
