Stuff I (probably) stole from Wikipedia:
Spider-Man is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in the anthology comic book Amazing Fantasy #15 (August 1962) in the Silver Age of Comic Books. He has since been featured in films, television shows, video games, and plays. Spider-Man is the alias of Peter Parker, an orphan raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben in New York City after his parents Richard and Mary Parker died in a plane crash. Lee and Ditko had the character deal with the struggles of adolescence and financial issues and gave him many supporting characters, such as Flash Thompson, J. Jonah Jameson, and Harry Osborn; romantic interests Gwen Stacy, Mary Jane Watson, and the Black Cat; and foes such as Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin, and Venom. In his origin story, he gets spider-related abilities from a bite from a radioactive spider; these include clinging to surfaces, superhuman strength and agility, and detecting danger with his "spider-sense." He also builds wrist-mounted "web-shooter" devices that shoot artificial spider webs of his own design.
When Spider-Man first appeared in the early 1960s, teenagers in superhero comic books were usually relegated to the role of sidekick to the protagonist. The Spider-Man series broke ground by featuring Peter Parker, a high school student from Queens, New York, as Spider-Man's secret identity, whose "self-obsessions with rejection, inadequacy, and loneliness" were issues to which young readers could relate.[8] While Spider-Man had all the makings of a sidekick, unlike previous teen heroes such as Bucky and Robin, Spider-Man had no superhero mentor like Captain America and Batman; he thus had to learn for himself that "with great power there must also come great responsibility"-a line included in a text box in the final panel of the first Spider-Man story but later retroactively attributed to his guardian, his late Uncle Ben Parker.
Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes.[10] He has appeared in countless forms of media, including several animated TV series, a live action television series, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and in multiple series of films. The character was first portrayed in live action by Danny Seagren in Spidey Super Stories, a The Electric Company skit which ran from 1974 to 1977.[11] In films, Spider-Man has been portrayed by actors Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield,[12] and in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Tom Holland. He was voiced by Chris Pine and Jake Johnson in the animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), with Johnson reprising the role in its sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023). Reeve Carney starred originally as Spider-Man in the 2010 Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.[13] Spider-Man has been well received as a superhero and comic book character, and he is often ranked as one of the most popular and iconic comic book characters of all time and one of the most popular characters in all fiction. - Фільми й анімація
Did I forget to add music? Why yes, yes I did.
I don’t know, the intro has music.
And you forgot the game boy version of Spider-Man 2 the one with the pizza quest
@@ShockwaveFPSStudios what is the intro song anybody know? its so good
It's a shame Vulture didn't end up getting his movie appearance but I'm glad we did get Vulture in the games
Can't wait to see a future episode focused on Mysterio. Really liked him in the Spider-Man 2 game, he was my favorite part.
I think he's saving that for a finale
yeah, his narration was really funny
for context, bruce campbell was set to play Mysterio in Spider-Man 4
Vulture actually has an Easter egg in the console version of Spider-Man 2: you can see his feathers on the Chrysler building where you fight him in the previous game :-) Also why didn’t you cover the DS version with vulture?
Hey, I would love if you could touch upon at some point later in this series the connection Web of Shadows has and the potential of it serving as another entry as part of the ‘Raimi-Verse’.
Notably the connections such as:
- The shared history between Spider-Man and that of Kingpin, Black Cat, Vulture all hinting/referencing their appearances in prior Raimi-games.
- The Mech Minibosses having prototypes in Spider-Man 3 (X360/PS3 version) during a photo mission, sharing an identical design.
- The line during the first Black Cat mission, “Green Goblin was so 6 years ago! The kids, they like the Venom and the Sandman!”, referencing the timeline between games with WOS releasing in 2008. Peter is also shocked and possibly fearful to see one of Kingpin’s men using similar tech as Goblin, saying, “It can’t be!” worried almost as if Norman or Harry had returned from the dead.
- Spider-Man 3 essentially being used as a jumping off point mechanically for the gameplay of WOS.
- Peter’s voice (that’s a joke, and I love it actually).
I’d love to see your thoughts on this, especially since ‘Friend or Foe’ is often discussed as being a final entry in these line of games when I’ve always personally believed WOS should be considered as such if not more so.
Loving the series thus far!!!
I loved this video, so much the rami-verse should of been explored through more media like comic books or even cinematics.
Killin it with that New Jack outro! Enjoying your content, Raimi-verse is my fav.
I love this series and I can’t wait to see you do this for the Marc Webb films
I say Vulture & Shocker are examples of beginner villains for Spider-Man overall and funny enough, Spectacular & the 2017 toon did have those two appear early, even I did had them as the first bad guys in an old fanfic of mine. :)
Does wonder if those two were also major players in Spidey's early days in the Insomniac-verse?
(P.S., their actors are who I think of as their definite portrayals, let's be fair. : ) )
In the PS4 game universe Vulture was Spider-Man’s first super villain
@@Operation_Bagel I know, as explained on Miles' bonus boss fight. Also a coincidence he was the first bad guy in Spectacular, 2017, MCU and the PS4 game.
@@erindelgado9639 He's a good choice for a starting villain, a dude with wings causing havoc. I wouldn't want Spidey to start with like fighting Morlun or something lol
@@Operation_Bagel I agree. As knowing Spidey stories, you always face a roster of small-time villains before facing the big bads like Kingpin, Doc Ock, Green Goblin or Venom.
That Vulture boss fight in the first game took me WAY too long to complete…
5 months later we’ve seen official sculptures and the wings from the development of Spider-Man 4
yay I'm early this time.......awesome vid btw
Love that Evil Dead reference in the Spider-Man 2 game. That was brilliant as well.
I'm just glad they kept vultures voice actor from the first game and put him in spiderman (PlayStation 4/5)
Spider-Man Friend or Foe was honestly a great game
What a delicious thumbnail
God knows how vultures feathers were on the Chrysler building two years after the first game. Nice little Easter egg though...
Tfw you wake up and there is a new video.
The next video should be about these foes from the raimi games: Kraven the hunter, the lizard, mysterio, kingpin, rhino.
I already know you said you probably won’t do a video of Green goblin, doc ock, sandman, venom.
Pup you cannot hide from the NolanVerse
6:12 Screw you dude.
TMW you can literally make out every single wrinkle on Vulture's face thanks to the thumbnail~😂😂😂
9:09 I’ve been thinking about this as well. I mean Peter is better off without MJ, cause even though some excuse it as a “Complicated Relationship” I just see it as “you’re both Toxic to eachother and need to meet new people”. Which is what I take at the end of Spider-Man 3. That they both go their own separate ways and live a more healthier lives.
Can’t wait to see the mysterio video.
I love this series so much
6:14 i really liked the pc version ngl
The voice actor who plays vulture in the 2002 game he played him again in spider man ps4
He also played Doctor Animo in Ben 10
Forgot to mention that Peter is also voiced by the same voice actor as Ben in Alien Force(Yuri Lowenthal)
Hey, Channel Pup! How’s life treating you so far?
Not bad at all, Mr Moss. How about yourself?
@@ChannelPup Very exquisitely now that my favorite UA-camr responded. :)
@@devinjabairemoss Oh stop it you, you're gonna make me blush.
crazy
Vulture is a feathered foe
I'm guessing you'll at least mention the Felicia Hardy of amazing spider-man 2, when you do black cat
More of these please? Lizard? Scorpion? Rhino? Electro???? Pleaseeeeee
Wow
Cool
I love this series also I have a character idea that you can Discuss about Not the green goblin from the main story from the spider man 2002 game but the Green goblin When you play as the green goblin ( harry osborn) and I theorize that's actually the Hobgoblin but in a lazy design
But that's just me
Are you gonna add some of the obscure lore only mentioned in the novelizations of the films in a later episode?
Does this mean Spider-Man 4 Tobey Maguire Sam Raimi, which was canceled in 2011, is that right?
I love shocker I hope he comes back in the mcu, as his lovable stupid self.
Yes
I hope Mysterio is next
after the webb movies i'm guessing you'll do watts' (if there's any expanded media on mcu spider-man) but what's after that? you moving on to another character or will that be the end of this series?
I was hoping to see a bit of the GBA games where Vulture is a pathetically easy boss.
Honestly, I did consider including some GBA titles but opted to keep it just to mediums that had even just the slightest cinematic quality to them. There's probably just one villain from the GBA games that'll get a mention.
@@ChannelPup Oh ok I was wondering what about the DS and GBA versions
@@ChannelPup I assume either Puma or Electro. Since they are from GBA versions of Spidey 2 & 3.
I haven't played it since I was a kid so I don't remember anything that could and honestly probably does contradict this, but could we have the head canon that Friend or Foe is the Raimiverse after the aftermath of No Way Home? Obviously Dock Ock starts out bad but we could assume the device Tom built broke and then Tobey had to save him again.
Nice Nikocado joke
A
A bit off-topic for this video but out of curiosity I was wondering something, most comicbook superhero films tend to usually focus mostly on the most popular and iconic villains from the comics however perhaps for a future Batman film, they could experiment a bit by introducing known villain as the main antagonist but this villain is not as iconic or as famous as the likes of Joker, Catwoman Penguin or Riddler and Two-Face etc, though this hypothetical villain that could perhaps still be a pretty good one if done well. For example, what if the Batman cinematic universe introduced 'The (Mad) Monk as the 'big bad' in a sequel to 'The Batman' (with a bit of hint of Tim Burton-inspired movie style), perhaps with a little misdirection by having the Man-Bat character as a 'red-herring' until the main reveal... (Also it would be quite ironic and a little funny perhaps if Batman was played by Robert Patterson still, (what with his 'Twilight' saga connection) and the (Mad) Monk being a vampire, lol, (as well as being one of the first supernatural superhuman villains Batman ever faced in the comics)...?
