There's courage in admitting to errors, mistakes, and misfortunes. It's also nice of your sponsor for this video to step in beyond your initial sponsor for your card counting education.
Thank you! The video was a lot longer but I had to cut some of the mistakes out just incase it actually educated casinos too much 😂 Really appreciate the support re the sponsor! Makes full time UA-cam way more of an option.
7:30 Fascinating fact: this is a studied behaviour called loss aversion. Research shows that it feels ~2.5x worse to lose as it does to win equivalent value, so your self-assessment of +10 vs -30 is very accurate!
Yeah that's how it's percieved for the average person, but i think there's a term used, called "True Gambler", where a person has the opposite feeling when it comes to gambling; They don't feel as bad when losing and gets a much better high from winning.
I began counting cards about eight years ago and it has been an up and down experience as it is for anyone who learns to "beat" the game. The one thing that I find interesting, is how you are so willing to put your face and name on camera, while being an advantage player. Most of the time, card counters prefer to not put their face out there so as to make sure that casinos do not know who they are.
Gotta say I came from Mike Boyd and saw ur magic videos too. But the Card Counting videos are the most wholesome easiest to understand and extreeeemly fun to watch. You really take the viewer with you on an adventure!

I'm loving this series Steven! I've been raised a gambler. Spent a good portion of my life playing poker as a living. I love to play blackjack. Your read on other players is totally accurate and the worst part of playing. Doesn't matter how big or small the table is. But like you said, when you bet big people are nicer and its really weird lol.
As far as I'm concerned casinos are legally sanctioned organized crime. So I applaud you taking their money. They prey on the poor, the dumb, and the addicted. Casinos should be outlawed from offering games that are rigged in the House's favor. They should only make money via a rake fee or some similar model where they get paid for providing the venue. They can also make money by renting out hotel rooms and running restaurants on the premises. That should be the business model.
I'm full on addicted to this series. I actually can't wait until the next episode! Seriously though, tremendous job with this - an extremely well-produced series.
I’m a AP and what I’ve learned over the years is the absolute best way to avoid a back off is every once in a while leave the tables, walk over to the slots and throw $20 in and just sit there playing small spins.
I picked up on this when he told the story of the AP old asian guy in a previous video that would occasionally bet large when it was disadvantageous to and to hop around to other table games.
Damn, I subscribed after watching your series like 45 minutes ago. Glad to see another video... P.S., as a current WA state resident, I thoroughly enjoyed your video series. Keep up the good work.
@@stevenbridges You should! I used to live in Snoqualmie, and everything about that town is beautiful, especially the Falls. It was also where Twin Peaks was filmed, too! It's a great tourist spot that just so happens to be right next a great casino 😉
I agree with the stress of playing on someone else’s money. It’s always WAY more stressful and less rewarding for me because I don’t even get to keep all the profit. Not worth it if you can avoid it but when you need the financial backer, not much choice.
Just watched a few of your recent videos and really enjoyed them. I happen to work for one of the Tribal governments that own a casino you visited in Washington and UA-cam randomly suggested one of your videos. I thought it was really cool how your understanding of law on Tribal lands evolved over the videos, most people don't understand that the laws are often different and your rights might not be what you think. I'm also happy that your experience at the casino owned by the Tribe I work for was one of the more pleasant ones, despite being backed off. I look forward to seeing how Vegas went, I'm hooked now!
You just provided a very insightful testimony dude. I'm actually surprised and grateful on your reaction on the matter... As a "EU people" I was actually just glad to hear on how it works out there. The amount of politeness we see from different casinos (maybe yours) is really heartwarming. It is their private properties, they caught you off, they ask you to leave, you do. And this guy does, fair game. The way he's called the police upon is fucking insane, this is just trying to infuse fear and doubts, this to me is manipulation of customers, it sounds really bad...
I'm so happy to hear that you're continuing your journey and making more videos. This is such a fascinating subject and there's just no one else out here that's doing and filming the experience
As someone who financed his education with Poker, I am very happy that you have been this successful. The amount of money casinos extract is absolutely ridiculous. The difference to card counting, in Poker they actually still profit off of you.
Been a huge fan since you started the series and even to the point I have started taking counting and basic strategy to an everyday practice. Thank you Steven!!!

Hearing the emotions of your journey and comparing it to my own journey of trying to play poker professionally is so funny to me. So many of the emotions you felt are either the exact same or very similar to professional poker
Hopefully ALOT 🤞 This series of amazing videos has now been years in the making... All after learning how to count cards at a high level, then flying internationally to put all those months of hard work to the test, most likely with a large portion of his own funding 🤯 Now that's an ambitious long term youtube project! 👏 I hope the videos pay way better than the tables! 👍
About the long drive and feeling lonely, for me, long "lonely" drives are usually something I enjoy a lot. Just listening to your own tunes, relaxing with your own thoughts and mindlessly driving along highways and country roads is one of the few parts of the week where I can be truly myself and alone.
What is the playing lifespan of a serious card counter? Just in this one trip, he managed to get 86'd from several (most?) of the Seattle-area casinos, and is now probably on a list(s) as well. Sure, there are lots of other places in the US to play blackjack, but how long before you've pretty much torched yourself at all of them?
Thank you! Wasn't sure if this video would be an interesting topic for people, but it was requested and I felt like maybe it was important to round up the Washington Trip.
This has been a wonderful series. Been watching you off and on since your street performance videos but this has been really good quality - conception through to actually executing. The real selling point is you. You are super engaging and this should be edited into a three or four piece documentary of maybe 40 minute sections. Super, super job dude!
I both love and hate your channel. I love the content I hate the waiting for new content 🤣🤣 I just want more more more. Can't get enough of your journey. Hope you are well.
After having played on several teams throughout my 20+ year career as a card counter I have some observations that you might want to consider on your next trip. You calculated your EV at roughly $66 per hour. In this scenario you will you will go broke in the long run due to your very high expense drag. Without going into detail it is a mathematical fact you will go broke if your expenses exceed 25% of your total EV due to variance. In your scenario you are only "allowed" $16 per hour in expenses or $1800. Your expenses at $2600 exceeds that number by quite a bit. This is a scenario that you will want to avoid in the future. As I mentioned in one of your earlier videos the likelihood of playing any significant hours with 250k is very very low as evidenced by your 4 hours a day average. I have seen expenses consume profits to the point of break even/losing banks after 100s of hours played and is an easy trap to fall into. With that being said I still applaud your efforts for a job well done.
Dude, thank you so much for writing a very helpful comment! And I appreciate how you just told me the info, you didn’t patronise or anything like that. I’ve taken a screen shot and will look into this further! 😃
"Without going into detail it is a mathematical fact you will go broke if your expenses exceed 25% of your total EV due to variance." - could you nonetheless go into detail for me please? Intuitively, this doesn't make any sense. If your EV is $66/h, and your expenses are $30/h, that means your actual EV is $36/h, and you will still make money in the long run. You do need a higher bankroll to reduce your RoR, but why would you be guaranteed to go broke?
This was fantastic to watch! 14 backoffs is very high for 46 sessions, so you must have been using a pretty wide spread (or maybe washington is just extra sweaty). You'd be out of casinos within a year at that rate 😉
To be honest I cannot remember the exact math on the 25% expense calculation but it was rule of thumb back in the day. Variance is a killer and actual results can vary widely from mathematical expectation even with an edge. This is where money management is critical and I have never ever seen a correct figure written in books (not even close actually). Now add expenses, tipping, playing errors, poor game conditions, barrings etc into the mix and you can see the challenge. Many factors are eating away at your EV and it does not take much to make everything -EV and this is no joke. The only real way to control expenses is to live in the area you play at (I live in Washington btw) or add members to the team so you can share expenses on AirBnb, hotels, car rentals etc. Now the bank gets twice the hours on it with the same amount of expenses. Team play/joint bank eliminates many of these problems but creates problems in other areas. Expenses are probably the number one killer besides playing in bad games in which your EV is probably half (or even worse) of what you think it is. So lets take Stevens scenario at $66 an hour with $30 an hour in expenses. By playing in marginal conditions (bad pen being the biggest) or even playing a weak spread can easily eliminate the rest of your EV making the trip -EV overall.
I've been wondering about all this stuff!! You should post more often! Even if the videos aren't as jam packed with crazy content. I think a bi weekly vlog would be so much fun to follow along!!
I guess hindsight is 20/20 but up 93usd is a good time to call it quits.. this is the problem with gambling.. the vision of grandeur is always more enticing than the threat of loss...but I will say that the data and experience you collected is priceless! Thanks for this great video it was an emotional rollercoaster
I have to say, it has been a treat watching through these videos! I love how you're humble about being somewhat new to this stuff and how you explain where you could've done better, it really helps as somebody who's interested in learning this stuff in the future. Also, I know this is unlikely, but if you see this comment could you tell me where you got that sweater? It looks great on you.
Loved that series! Seems like it is such a battle to keep playing though without getting backed off or kicked out, makes me wonder how you would do that full time all year.
love the accounting part! it could translate in a good full time job, the problem thou is in 1 month you managed be kicked out from WA state casinos - even moving around, I am not sure this is sustainable in the long term (i.e. 5 years or more)
I would love to track the old dude down and get an interview. With his face blurred of course haha! The fact he came sat next to you and started playing and was scoping you out was incredible
You are correct about the emotions. It is very difficult to not tilt and to remember that if done properly time is on your side. I find myself having to pair that with having to add some peculiar variances and what I call junk sessions added into my gameplay. I have to do this to keep the local casinos off of my scent. I use these junk sessions as training though. They cut into my EV but my EV is pretty high without it so I can get away with it. Just as you have probably experienced 1 good shoe tends to yeild crazy results. So I typically walk away once I hit that good shoe. Even if it is the first shoe of the night. Good work and keep up the content.
I have been watching this series because I find it entertaining. I play poker and I track everything to the penny when I can. I have a credit card that I use just for lodging, travel, and meals. I can write it all off against my profits when it is time to pay income taxes. Bad idea to sit in your car at the casino and count your money, better to wait till you get to your room, you don't need to know right now. Poker players would consider 3 or 4 hours as a short session. What you call "end Zero" is what we refer to as variance. Variance doesn't apply to a single session, but to a large number of hands over time. You might want to give poker a try. There is a lot more math to the modern game than there used to be.
4:36 I don't think the 2% ROI number is accurate since your investor didn't actually risk $270,000. That was merely your line of credit. It would be more accurate to calculate the $5,335 return against what was actually risked (i.e. withdrawn and put into play, or at least in your pocket at the time you were actually playing Blackjack).
Some of us who have been grinding away at low stakes, trying to build a bankroll, would be salivating to have the chance to work with a six-figure bankroll. You are very fortunate, sir. Incredible series of videos that you've made here. I'm looking forward to the rest of them. Great work.
Hey, I've been watching your videos for a while now and enjoy card counting personally as well, I have a better idea then travelling to all these casinos you could try online blackjack, therefore you would make money at home and not risk getting banned. This is just a suggestion though, I really enjoy watching these videos, keep up the good work!
Around 5 years ago I did some card counting in the UK . I started small to get the hang of things and to learn. For around 8 month I visited my local casino around 5 nights a week and I would say I had a profit of £4k untill the night I got asked to leave, that night I started with £1000 and after around 8 hours of blackjack play I got to £9500 . They let me cash out but was asked to sign a self exclusion form to stop me gambling in any of that named casino again. A few weeks after that me and a friend went to vages with $20000 between us, the first 2 nights we lost all the money we had but my friend managed to get another £15k loan ($20k) and after another 2 nights we turned that $20k into $114k . After we paid for the hotel and expenses we was left with about £51k profit from a 5 night session. Now I very rarely gamble
An important economical aspect that you are overlooking is that depending on the risk of going through all money, your investor can actually very safely have a large portion of the bankroll invested in other safe investments and be gaining benefit from two different sources at the same time. The massive size is just to guarantee that you will never go bankrupt, in no real world do you need to have more than 30% of the total available at any given moment.
Serious, your beard game is on point. I'd love to see a video on how you trim and maintain your beard. If you don't feel comfortable making a video on it, maybe just point to some vids you think are quality on the topic. Thanks.
Thanks dude! Well honestly I'm not thatttt great at trimming my beard. So whenever I get a hair cut I have them also do the beard, I find that helps it stay better for longer and they do a better job than I could. Then it's just using a trimmer by hand. And I do trim it juuuuuuust before filming so it usually looks as good as it can for videos. Wish I could offer some more practical advice!
In the future can you add a hourly that includes travel time so we can see how that also may change hourly as you get backed off more and more casinos? Love the videos, its a great insight into card counting and has been fun to see how casinos react to players trying to get an edge. Can't wait for the rest of the videos in the series!

I hope he does this again, such a good series.
Thanks Steven for giving a an honest assessment of your month , I enjoyed it lol
Sad this series ended so soon, very well done 👏
More to come, don't worry 😃
one month is much less than one year!
This is my current favorite series on UA-cam. Can't wait for the next episode!
I've been wondering about all this stuff!! You should post more often! Even if the videos aren't as jam packed with crazy content. I think a bi weekly vlog would be so much fun to follow along!!
I’ve been binging this channel for the 6 hours and I’m not sorry.
Hey congrats on the big 300K! Thats a pretty big milestone. Heres to 1M!!
Great vid and I really hope your card counting future holds the best of luck for you pal 👍
Definitely prefer this kind of drama (cash flying everywhere) over the bodycam security drama!
I found out about you through Mike boyde! I have been watching every episode since!
Loved that series! Seems like it is such a battle to keep playing though without getting backed off or kicked out, makes me wonder how you would do that full time all year.
You sir, cannot put out these videos fast enough. So good and its far too long of a cliffhanger between videos
Just binged this series, looked like fun, might try myself if I ever bother to learn cheers m8 have a good one
Just AWESOME
Thank you! 😃
@@stevenbridges have a nice day and keep up the great work! :)
love the accounting part!
it could translate in a good full time job, the problem thou is in 1 month you managed be kicked out from WA state casinos - even moving around, I am not sure this is sustainable in the long term (i.e. 5 years or more)
I would love to track the old dude down and get an interview. With his face blurred of course haha! The fact he came sat next to you and started playing and was scoping you out was incredible
Soooooo will there be more of this type of content orrrrrrrrr what. Cause I’ve loved every second of this
Really enjoyed this series. Looking forward to more! Thank you!
Great stuff! Really enjoying this series it's been great.
I think a nervous feeling when going to a casino at all is a good thing, even if you aren't intending on breaking some arbitrary policy.
You can't calculate it that way because you would never bet as much as he was betting if he only had a $10k bankroll.
Cant wait for your next video. Great content!
Some of us who have been grinding away at low stakes, trying to build a bankroll, would be salivating to have the chance to work with a six-figure bankroll. You are very fortunate, sir. Incredible series of videos that you've made here. I'm looking forward to the rest of them. Great work.
I am incredibly lucky to have had this opportunity for sure! Best of luck, keep on grinding!
Getting a loan to gamble is a terrible idea. period.
good thing you don't gamble anymore - still, congrats on the winnings.
ive waited so long for this video!
loved it! looking forward so seeing whats to come!
Thanks very much!
Also, big fan. Loving these videos. Hope to see more blogs from Vegas and elsewhere
The best thing about listening to vids made by British people is you get to hear 'whilst' regularly.
Another great/insightful video. Thanks again Steven. Still really enjoying the content!
There’s my homeboy… great to see you… I’ll be watching for more vids…!
great vid like always Steven, these vids have opened my mind!
Thank you! 😃
Buzzing for more videos to come !!
Lot's more on the way 😃
loved seeing the journey and video overall man
I can confirm that seattle is epic and that Washington has lots of casinos👍
Just saw the Mike Boyd collab, and your channel came up in my recommended right after 🤣🤣 the algorithm is doing its job well lol
Hooray! Thank you algorithm! And thank you for watching
Can't wait for the next episode, I've watched the series (so far) like 5 times
Ur the man I’m a bodybuilder and these were some of my fav things to watch on here
YESSS ANOTHER UPLOAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the best series on YT.
Thanks so much!
these videos are so entertaining! ive been introduced to you by mike boyd and now i dont regret watching that video one single bit. :D
Thanks so much! 😃 Mike is the man!
Great Series! I have PIA and its been great.
In the future can you add a hourly that includes travel time so we can see how that also may change hourly as you get backed off more and more casinos? Love the videos, its a great insight into card counting and has been fun to see how casinos react to players trying to get an edge. Can't wait for the rest of the videos in the series!
The 9 cents sounds like you counted the cash you had on you after grabbing a snack, without separating out food and winnings.
Great video, love the series
How did you see this? 😂 it’s not supposed to be public yet
3hr ago lol
@@stevenbridges Honestly not sure, it said unlisted posted 5 mins ago 🤔
