Good to see guys still doing the sport quad thing. I had a ds loved it had an ltr also .Hard to believe the 450 craze was 10 years ago This video made me wanna get my banshee off the shelf in my garage.
raptor needs a sprocket upragde to race efficient and take advantage of the torque wo really losing a noticable bottom end, factory short gears for trails, though since the hp is pretty average, think it also has a setup for a easy turbo install already setup, can't say for certan.
Put more weight on the front, launch harder, and stay in the wheelie longer. As long as your rear tire pressure is even you should track fairly straight enough to hold that wheelie through 1st 2nd and maybe even 3rd gear
I like all those ideas, what pressure do you normally run? I tend to be around that 5 PSI mark. I definitely plan on launching in 2nd from now on, I need to commit and stay on the gas
Great vid Pete! Ive had almost every brand of 450 and 2 new Raptor 700s and my current quad is an 09DS450x with the XC suspension swapped on to it… and its the lightest and best handling bike ive had to date … im 54 now so the almost stock power is loads enough now for me… but its noticeable with less power than the TRX and YFZ ive had. But still pulls super hard. My dream bike is to do a engine swap and throw a 04-05 kicker TRX big bore in my DS … it will happen … hopefully next season

Too bad they never sold well. Seems like the Market only prefers Yamaha and Honda. I have yet to see a DS450 in the wild. CanAm was onto something with this quad, lot of innovation like hollow axle, unique aluminum frame, etc. The public just prefered the bigger makers.

Cassi Collins, the YFZ450 is actually faster than raptor 700 top speed wise and way better on launches. I myself would rather have the YFZ450. but everybody has there own preference on what they like to ride. which is cool.. no disrespect to you.
I'd rather have a Ds450
Raptor top speeds the ones that arent like super customized are around 145km the world record of the highest speed ever by an atv was a raptor 700 custom with a rear rocket that reached 200 mph it got in the G world record
