- Stock 2009 CanAm DS450X MX vs 2018 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE with PC5 Power Commander, FCI Intake, Monster Exhaust, Athena 734 Big Bore and CP 12.5 piston.
Both machines are recognized as Alphas in their own segment. The Raptor is going to have an edge because it is modified whereas the CanAm is stock.

You should just gear the DS a little higher then I bet it would keep up a lil better of course not right with it but I just re-geared my TTR 230 to go 75 feels nuts on that lil thing lol 14/46, 3.7 to 3.2 gear ratio and still has good torque
Pull that clutch safety switch out of the left side handle bar and enjoy the free extra top speed.
Is that for the ds450 or raptor?

I had a 720 stroker raptor and nothing I had my banshee or my yfz could touch that thing at all.
There’s no replacement for displacement, that being said the 450 is fun to whip around

I am still new to shifting and got a question at 4:10 untill you turn around when you slow down are you down shifting gradually or do you do it once you are almost stopped. also when you down shift to turn do you go to first gear or just go to second or do you just go to whatever gear you think is best for your speed? Like i said im new and watched your other video teaching us i just dont wanna get it wrong
You can do it either way. You can coast down on the clutch and shift down once you're stopped or gradually shift down and engine brake, but I wouldn't recommend engine braking when you're first starting out. If you downshift and let the clutch out too fast, it is possible to lose traction in the rear. There isn't much to it. You're thinking about it too much. Just relax and it'll come to you. Nobody was born knowing how to shift gears. Don't worry about "getting it wrong." The worst that'll happen is you stall out. That can be embarrassing, but it happens to the best of us. I've been riding for years and still stall out once in a while if I've been riding my bike a lot and then hop on my Raptor. Or after a long day/weekend of rippin the Raptor, occasionally when I first get on my bike I'll stall it once before the muscle memory of the bike clutch comes back.

So what kind of big bore is on the Raptor? I had a 660R back in the day and I own a 08 DS450X now. Got me wanting to swap the Rotax 650 into the X to see if it will be more of a battle

You could race a trx700xx stock and a Yamaha 700 the 5rx will be the clear winner

When you get the stroker in the 700 you should try a yz 450 out you will smoke it

Mod for mod nothing is touching a well built raptor. Every one that rides my raptor wants one. They allways go wow that thing is fast or the front wheels where lift up its so powerful.
Littlerly any quad lifts up the wheels if you floor it, it's called a power wheelie
