    Thanks Adam. I'm warming up to this inverter for a dedicated EV charging solution. I love that it has 4 independent MPPTs which gives a lot of flexibility.

      Would probably work very well for that application.

      I have an 8kw, it takes 7500w to blow the fuse on a single mppt. That 10kw even more.

      @@hendersonsobers396 The first unit was the older version, firmware fault, only charged battery to 60% for months, I am new I thought 48v was full, now 52.6 is full, anyways dec24th it won't gen charge past 150w , solar online answered my call at the dinner table , we did get it to charge next day but then he told me about the 55% SOC charge , so asap dec27th the new unit was already en route . Old unit is here just needing a new flash. Swap took 15 mins tops, I gave the new unit 5.4kw from gen, and saw highest volts ever 49.6, took 5 days for my Pb C batteries to take a whole charge from 6 months of PSOC, 50.8 51.2,51.4, 51.6 day 5 at 51.8. Lead Carbon is tough.
      Now with a fully working unit, amazing not a single glitch, silent to 2200w, went 3 months with all float charge maybe 40mins absorb, even with a 40A ac surge I have never seen a light dim, it could flip to gen and not notice a flicker, most changes can be done on the unit settings. I had to raise my freq hi low alarms the only day I last used the gen.
      Any unit or brand that looks like this inverter, the voltmeter is not accurate, I had to reduce absorb and float by 2v, small load shows 1.2 to 2v less than actual. Next year I buy a second one as back up.

      @@hendersonsobers396 I thought I replied to you days ago, yeah so far the replacement has been no problem, silent to 2.2kw. The new display is a lot easier than the old model. The old one needs a firmware wipe and update. It is going back to the dealer soon. Solar online shipped a replacement the day after the 1st one stopped charging, we got it to work next day but he didn't want to risk any further relapses. I ran the old one for 3 months after I had the new one, if he gets stuck with it after repair I might buy it reduced. In 8 years 15min swap.

    Questions?
    1.) What are the changes?
    2.) Is there a change log that list what changed from this version from the last version?
    3.) Does it keep your settings you entered when you first setup the inverter?
    Thanks for this information.

      1 and 2. I know Ian is working on getting a changelog for all updates.
      3. Yes it retains your current settings.

    I never had a problem with my pv3 solar panels it is the inverter's pv3 and 4 are not working right, I have an overcast 500w on pv2, I put the string into pv3 and pv4 and it drops to 45w, looks like I need an update after all. Thanks this video will make it less unknown to me.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  6 днів тому

      Yeah that's odd that it would drop down that quickly if you move from PV2 to PV3. Hope the video helps!

      @@AdamDeLay07 we did the update,it only changed fan speeds, put still improper pv3 4 production, solar online brought me a 3rd inverter now a 10k like yours, installing today, 2 of hundreds sold by him both mine faulty so he drove 8 hrs to fix it.

    Wow. That the USB stick 'quality' would result in that is a bit worrying. There should be checksums / CRCs / MD5s or any other number of validation methods to ensure that the inverter only ever attempts to use 100% correct files / images / etc and that any reads or writes of the stick also results in a guarantee that the data read / written is in turn 100% valid or rejected.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  Місяць тому

      Agreed. Thankfully the worst thing I saw happen was just the corrupted labels on the display. Either that or it just wouldn’t load the data.

    Hello! I missed :
    1) the new functionality the firmware update brings
    2) where to find the update files
    Thanks

      Unfortunately I cannot remember the specifics of the update I installed.
      If the update isn't listed on the product page from watts247 yet, you can email Ian and he can send it to you.

    Will it supply the homes main panel with battery and or solar power by utilizing only the grid input connections? Using CTs to not export by only supplying the main panel with what the home is using

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  Місяць тому +1

      Yes, so if you have the CTs on the grid mains on your main panel, Solar and battery will be used to power loads on your AC Output connection and your AC Input up to the CTs.
      If solar and battery is insufficient, grid pies will supplement.
      Also, you can program the inverter to only use X amount of power from the battery if you want to (so you don’t completely drain the batteries).

    I think I will just get my solar dealer a hotel room and have him do it next time he is passing through if needed. Is this the update to fix gen port and grid time of use? I don't need grid or generator anymore so I will leave it be.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  Місяць тому

      I can’t recall the specifics but it wasn’t for gen or TOU.

      @@AdamDeLay07 would you rather our pv total showed available and not clipped values or is this the way all inverters report?

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  Місяць тому

      @@bobmonztr I would think it should show up to the max that it's programmed to handle. You should be able to know right away if your string is being clipped due to your panel config and the PV numbers maxing out.

    • @bobmonztr

      @@AdamDeLay07 I have to add loads to get the array #'s up, 20kw a day in june, now with all the ac I see 31 kw a day. My short Amen solar 8k, now I know even the daily total is clipped.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07  Місяць тому

      @@bobmonztr is that due to your batteries getting full and charging ramping down? That’s the only reason I could see a load changing how much pv could come in (unless there’s some programming issue).
      I guess the other thing it could be is that I had to change the max charge rate on mine because it was set too low as a default. It was set to something like 20a and was causing my pv to clip. Once I realized that, I increased the setting and all the sudden pv numbers were higher.
