      Yeah, I get it. I've never had to crimp my own amphenol connectors before. I've seen it done and it looks like you can use the same tools for a standard lug crimp. I just like the ease of connection/disconnection, plus they're a safer connection than an exposed lug.

    Hello and good for the video I wanted to ask you if it is possible to install the bms from victron (16S for a packlife that I have in 48 volts? 600AH)? or do you have to have a victron battery? my batteries are EVE 280AH in 16/2P can we wire all the batteries with the bms from victron or do we need a bms compatible with the victron? otherwise is it possible if there is no can in the battery pack to tell victron (multiplus and cerbo GX) that I have a lead gel battery pack? there is no bms on the lead in general? my pack can be protected by its own BMS cutoff 2.80 volts and maximum charge at 3.65 volts Possibly just to emit more or less on the multiplus? thank you laurent

      Laurent, Thanks for the comment. I believe the Victron BMS is specifically for Victron batteries. With my Victron MultiPlus system, I had 2 DIY batteries with JK BMSs and I just programmed the charging settings based on voltage. You can do that in the Victron charge controllers as well as the MultiPlus inverter. No problems at all as long as you program in proper charge rates specific to your batteries.

    Thanks for the video. I was under the impression that there was no way to turn off the inverter side (and accompanied idle consumption and noise) while the mppt still charge the battery. You talk about standby mode- or the eps switch. Have you tried this? Looking for a definitive answer as to whether i could use the 6000xp with the inverter off but still bring in charge current through the mppts and utilizing DC loads - off the battery through a dc-dc converter 48-12v and or a small inverter that is super quiet. I'd really appreciate an answer if possible. Thanks!

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07 5 днів тому

      Thanks for the comment. So you CAN turn off the EPS switch on the side to disable the actual inverter portion while still allowing PV to come in and charge the batteries. The fans will run anytime PV is charging though.

    Latest software (ccaa-180B0C) doesn't have export to PDF option. • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07 6 днів тому

      Yeah the "Working Mode" page for settings seems to be an updated interface that they're working on. So the "Working Mode Settings" section allows you to determine how you want the inverter to run at certain times. Do you want it to Charge from AC, do you want it to only run on Grid or do you want it to operate in a normal "Battery first" state (self consumption). It really gives you the ability to fine tune your system based on your needs. As far as the error you receive, do you have battery communication set up between your inverter and batteries? If so, everything will be based on SOC and not voltage. Glad to be able to help!

      @AdamDeLay07 6 днів тому

      @@MarkSpohr I don't think you can set the "AC Charge Start Battery Voltage" to a higher voltage than you have set for the "Charge Voltage". AC Charge Start Battery Voltage is used to tell the system when you want to start charging from the AC IN connection. Typically that's going to be a significantly lower value than the Charge Voltage because you want to use the battery power you have stored up. You set the Charge Start value to a low voltage threshold before your system switches over to AC IN/Grid power.

    Been really happy with my 6000xp I'm able to switch between grid and battery without any of my servers, computers, or network switches even noticing. It's the perfect UPS backup. I connected it to my 4 ton Goodman heat pump which is a power hog with only that one load I'm able to peak shave save 4500 watts of peak load power. My electric bill usage looks weird hopefully no one notices all that battery charging and super low peak.

    hi, I am buying an indoor wall mounted EG4. I have Schneider Inverter xw6048 with latest firmware. In addition I have insight facility. I am told by Schneider that XW6048 does not have the control board required to allow closed-loop battery comms. Is that true? Any workaround for BMS to communicate with the Inverter? Basically to give status of SOC.

    • @AdamDeLay07
      @AdamDeLay07 12 днів тому

      Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the specifics of Schneider inverters. I would ask Schneider what BMS protocols they support. I believe the indoor EG4 wallmount batteries can switch to different inverter protocols to help with battery communication.

    Actually 20W idle consumption is good compared to most inverters which often use more than 100W.

    Would be pretty awsome if you did a video on node red to solve the same problem. I have this set up same as you after following videos, but it has limitations. for example. If I want to charge the batteries at night during cheap rates, i would have to toggle the scheduled charge (which is fine). Unfortunatly, I also have to remember to turn it off in the morning, otherwise it will charge the next night too even though I migt not want it to. Bit of a hassle and lots of remembering. Node red would solve this I think

    Okay I like what I see. Can you show us off-grid folks how this invert would work for us. Folks that dont even have utility power as an option. The extra info would be great before dropping cash on something that may or may not work for full Off-grid living.

      @@Tiersmoke92555 the only difference is you don’t connect a grid connection or CTs. I actually ran with grid disconnected for quite some time. It’s actually a lot less programming. You just have to set your charging and discharging rates based on your batteries.
