People have always complained that Lefty could recruit, and couldn't coach, but Dean Smith could coach and that's why UNC had the upper hand in the 1980's over him. As if it was just coaching for Dean Smith, and no recruiting. And yet, every single year, Dean Smith had spectacular recruiting classes.
It's bizarre, listening to a broadcast where a player on your favorite squad has the same sounding name as you... Here I am, a few weeks shy of my 40th birthday dreaming of playing alongside Len Bias and against the greatest player the planet may ever see...
Great Maryland win. Good example too of North Carolina bias of Referees and even of ACC broadcasts. Billy Packer never liked Terps and when Maryland up big suddenly the network has ‘technical difficulties’. Ha
He wasn't in the starting line-up in this game, was he? I was 2 when Bias joined the Terrapins and I remember very little of him. It is amazing experiencing these games 35+ years later.
@@humanbeing1000 if i am wrong about Bias i dedicate this song to you Human Being , "Human" by yours truely The Human League ! Please forgive as i ask the same of you because Bias was and would have been better than Jordan because not only was he both clutch and automatic like Jordan,he was a bigger, taller, and stronger than Jordan my boy
@@jasonbaucom9036 You are wrong, he wasn't even better than Jordan in college. Bias had a better jumper and was bigger and that's it. Jordan was a better ball handler, was quicker and was a way better defender. Jordan had a way better all around game. Lastly Jordan had something in the NBA you can't teach, that killer mentality to say he was going to better than Jordan in the NBA is just speculation and possibly a foolish speculation because he by far exceeded any ones expectations when he went pro. Goat Jordan is the closest to perfect ball player to ever exist. Bias had the potential to be right up under him, but the NBA game is far more advanced than the collegiate game so we never know what would and could have happened.
Adrian Branch from DeMatha HS Hyattsville, Maryland 😊
Maryland have always had the most interesting and colorful jerseys.
If only we can go back to being a NIKE school in the ACC again.
Or even just in the ACC
Herman Veal was Maryland's Dennis Rodman.
Fothergill is from Somerset Kentucky not New York
RIP Lefty Driesell
Perkins had freakishly long arms.

This stuff is great........ Great times
I’m surprised Braddock never made the league. He was athletic, a great leader, he could shoot the ball and played solid defense
The tiny 3 point circle looks weird.
Is Jeff Adkins 20 or 40 years old?

I cried when he died, he was better than Jordan

36:23. Ball game. Maryland
So many traveling calls then
Refs made some horrible calls in this game.
