I completely relate to your comment, “the curtain has been pulled back”. It’s been so eye opening the last few years. It’s been a struggle for me too. I’ve also been really mad about it. Mad at myself for not knowing what I was buying. Mad at the governing bodies that allow, or encourage or require the toxic chemicals. We have a very broken system. Things have been changing in our household for the last couple of years with 2023 pushing hard to get away from the grocery store as much as possible. It’s a process and requires a whole learning curve. It’s not where I hope it will be but for now, I’m grateful for what we put up this year and for local farmers and friends who grow what we can’t and of course for Azure! Great video.

Why are you trying to meet a time table? Did you not plan the amount of time that this would involve, like MONTHS to rid and purge yourself of YEARS worth of "stuff"? Honey, you are being W--A--Y-- to hard on yourself. You are not punching a time card, so stop beating yourself up about when this should be done! Girl, you are a miracle happening everyday, on two feet. Accept your greatness and move forward.
OMGosh girl, you hit the nail on the head with the thing about grocery shopping now... after waking up and seeing it for what it really is! I used to dilly dally at the store, excitedly checking out new items, faithfully buying certain brand name products in boxes and bags. Now, I can't wait to get out of the store, and feel guilty when I buy some of those processed foods because I can't get my son to convert to more wholesome, or worse yet, I can't find the time or a good recipe to make that wholesome replacement. When I pass other people I am nosier about what is in their cart to see if they too have woken up yet, and I have yet to find anyone who has. And then there is the questions at the register from the cashier who notices I shop different than other people or asking why I buy so much of something (like butter). *sigh* I frequently compare it to the scene in The Matrix where Neo has to choose between the red pill that reveals the truth and the blue which returns him to blissful ignorance. Amanda, I swear there are times I wish I could take the blue pill even though I know its a death sentence. Instead I keep plugging along, doing my best and always feeling like my best isn't good enough. I have health conditions I realize have been influenced by at least 4 decades of the crap the "food" industry pumps out. I want so much to keep my son from having the same fate but I realized it 20 years too late. At 22, having grown up with processed bread and crackers, sandwich meats and sodas, I struggle to get him to make switches. I bake bread with home milled flour, we raise and butcher our own meat birds, I try to buy 95% of our meat from either Azure or local farmers, and we garden to offset our produce needs, but I'm still spending $500 or more a month at the grocery store and I hate it! And despise being there with the sheeple who don't think twice before buying the drinks with artificial sweeteners or bags of potato chips made with more chemicals than potatoes. And now we're in the process of trying to improve our dogs diet because processed food is a killer for them too. My question is, does it ever end? Or do you just keep finding things you didn't know to worry about before, and then spend your life trying to replace them with better alternatives. And how about when you find out the alternatives (like Annie's, Late July, Seventh Generation, etc) have all been bought out by the companies you have been trying to avoid?!? Every time I think about it all, I get worked up and have to try to talk myself off the ledge 😅
I get packages of cheap knee high hose and store my onions in them by tying a knot between each onion and hang from my sheds rafters on nails then I cut off each onion at the knot. If the onions don’t touch they won’t spoil as easily ( I live in Vidalia onion growing country😊)

Tip-you can go to some delis or burger places and ask for there food grade buckets..
We have 1 place I go to and they sell there clean old buckets for $2 with the lids.. I use them for watering. I use them for storage. I use them for all kinds of things I picked up for when the pandemic hit I could actually pick up a few more. They are so multi-purpose. 👍
Firehouse Subs sells their buckets for $3 with lid and you can put it in the sun and the pickle smell will come out

I’m literally doing the EXACT thing here. But I missed my Azure drop off timing so that gives me time to keep going with the Great Purge lol. But with the changes happening in the world I actually DO feel like I have a time clock ticking. Lots of pressure and it’s ALL my own pressure, but it’s still pressure 😅

I love Azure. Every bulk box of organic produce I've ordered has been stunningly beautiful. And, Mary's air chilled chicken is the only chicken I buy nowadays. I'm designing a pantry storage wall in my kitchen, and, now I have another idea for one section of it. Adding a vertical row of drawers like the ones you stored the butternut squash, ect, in.

Thank you for showing us the size of the bags, and ideas how to store. I find it hard to picture " size" how much space items may take up. I wish Azure had better pictures to show newbies how large bulk items are.
My first time here, love your statement about the grocery store… my commercial grocery gives me the ick feeling… Those pears look fantastic and I’d love to get some more on my shelves… unfortunately I’m FURIOUS with azure right now, I had two cases of butter in my order this week, BOTH damaged, and azures response was essentially “not our problem” Their customer service has taken a major dive and I’m so disappointed especially because I like a lot of their goods, but I can’t be having things like that happen … 😥
You should tey pear pie filling it is both my husband and mine favorite. I have to make 14 quarts to make it through winter or so I thought had to make 7 more quarts this past week to put me back up to 12 quarts
I also bought the ginger gold apples from Azure. They are all so soft so I’m thinking applesauce instead of apple pie filling.

I have noticed if you buy the box of potatoes, you often receive larger potatoes, than the bags of potatoes. Not a criticism, just an observation. Might he domething some families might prefer larger or smaller potatoes. We like both!

Yes, I was mistaken. That garlic from that order was from Mexico.
I believed that those are yams not sweet potatoes. When you look them up at Azure you will the difference between yams & sweet potatoes. 🙏🏻💕
Yams are really really orange inside. I'm from Georgia. Sweet potatoes taste better.
Im new to azure and storing food. You dont have to let the squash cure first and does that piece of furniture alow enough air flow?
They've already been cured by the time they are sold (same with ones in the stores).
hope this is an OK question, but could you tell me the approximate dimensions of your hanging onion bags? I have some of that net fabric and was thinking of making a couple of the bags.
