    Thank you very much Matt for the vibe you are generating. It is a pleasure to watch you train. The progression and ambitions you have shown lately motivate me not to give up during difficult moments. You prove once again that stagnation is only temporary if you stay consistent. You are a true inspiration, and I wish you the best for the next year!

    That cherry berry mix from Aldi is the best I make my smoothies the same way for the last 4 years. The protien mix from Aldi is also great and has creatine in it also. I add some orange juice , good belly probiotics, coconut water, spinach, banana, whole milk greek yogurt, beet powder, and turmeric to kick up the recovery. Great video can't wait for all the awesome content in 2025! 💯🏅💯

    Hi Matt. Funnily enough I literally just finished my own goal of running a marathon every month in 2024!
    I would say that it’s not great for training; you spend far too much time either tapering or recovering, and the injury risk is quite high, especially if racing every one.
    But don’t let that knock you! I’ve had a great year of running and I hope you do too

    Matt - setting durability aside, do you feel that you’ll have enough time between races to gain fitness and improve your marathon PR? Trying to gauge how many quality sessions you’ll realistically be able to complete between recovery and tapering for the next race.

    • @sweatelite
      @sweatelite  Місяць тому +5

      Each marathon in itself is obviously a huge training stimulus, I seem to recover pretty well in about 4-6 days from the most recent marathons, there’s obviously no fitness lost in this time after a marathon.. I don’t see losing fitness being an issue but getting injured would be the biggest risk to this

    I think this is really interesting, and good luck with it. I guess you’re not expecting to PB all the time? Is that right (sorry if I missed)? I suppose it’s possible at some point you may take a step back, or have a bad run for whatever reason, and maybe not get under 2:20 for example, but it’ll be interesting to see if you can maintain a high level all year. Personally, I think you can. Good luck.

  • @mikes5764
    @mikes5764 Місяць тому

    If possible run Valencia.I think you can already register, it sells out quickly. I might be the fastest in Europe because being flat and because it atracks the most competent runners so it is very likely you will find a pack of your level to hang on. Looking forward following your Yuki Kawauchi approach in 2025. You will be the best recovery specialist of the USA by the end of the year for sure 😆.

      @MattShubert Місяць тому +3

      I'm kinda glad someone finally commented this, been thinking it for a while but wasn't sure how to gracefully bring it up and every other commenter has seemed happy to just watch Matt's updates. I originally subscribed in the early days because of the fantastic, no frills coverage of many elite and even sub-elite runners but that seems to have fallen off the main mission of the channel. Totally get that there's cost involved as mentioned above, but it would be cool if the channel owners addressed this pivot in a more formal way (unless maybe I missed a video on this topic?)
      Don't get me wrong, it's still enjoyable checking in on how Matt is doing occasionally and I'm not unsubscribing but tbh I turned off notifications for the channel a while ago

    • @sweatelite
      @sweatelite  Місяць тому +26

      Thanks all for the notes here. We’d love for the same thing honestly - we faced a series of issues though in making this happen. They’re not cheap to make and we struggled to find consistent brands who would help sponsor the costs involved (we lost over $30k doing these in 3yrs), by the end of 2023 we had essentially filmed all receptive athletes globally, all you don’t see on here did not respond positively. So it would have been repeating athletes which likely would have bought complaints. The other issue (which is a great thing for you guys) is many others out there are doing the same thing now - All Track Access, FloTrack. Citius Mag and many other smaller channels. What do you think of these?
      The final issue was, well, our view counts were dropping way way down over time…….
