The last minute of dialogue was everything! Reframing failure to learnings is very powerful..
That last line pretty much says it all. If you can visualize where you want to be and are willing to make the mistakes and learn, you can do magic!!!!
I just think it's neat that little girl is gonna grow up the house her parents literally built. People say that all time figuratively, but these two took a figure of speech to a whole other level.
We can’t wait till she can look back on these videos. Thank you for the love. 🤍
@@CajunCountryLivin She will learn a few things... She'll see both of you setting a great example of a "learning/growth mindset" and she will know it's OK to try and make mistakes... as long as you learn from them and keep going. She'll also see the value of hard work... and will hopefully gain an even deeper respect for you both and the knowledge that we ALL stand on the shoulders of giants... the work of others that have sacrificed and worked to make life as good as it is now. Proud of you guys. I've enjoyed watching these vids and have gone back to the start to watch the series... up to about 50 now. You're killing it!
Although I'm laid up in TN with pink eye and it hurts for me to look at anything I'm still watching your videos. Love them and enjoy them so much. Thank you. Captain croc is my hero😍😍
Bravo les cousins cajuns vous êtes courageux de fabriquer vous même les meubles de votre maison. 👍👍👏👏😘🇫🇷
Thank you so much!!
When we picked out our new appliances, that bright blue interior surprised me also!
You guys are getting so good at building cabinets!!! I want ya'll to know how much we are enjoying your videos. I think I've told you that Marie is staying with and taking care of her elderly Mother down at the coast of SC while I'm up here on our place in the upstate mountains of SC. We watch your videos at the same time and text back and forth with each other as we watch. You have no idea how nice it is for us to have these moments "together" on Sundays and Wednesdays during this time apart. For that, we thank you so much.🥰 Now, I think you better go check on the dog. Last time I saw him, he was screwing himself into the ground.😆
Looks good … a couple of suggestions Kreg make a jig to make adjustable shelves and it works great …. The cabinet above the microwave add a shelf and layout lines of dowel rods cut to length I’d use oak dowel rod and use it for flat pan storage with your pans resting on edge ….
That is a awesome oven!! Nothing frustrates me more when my Smurf comes out cold and not done!! 😂😂
I love it! Kudos you two. I can't tell you how many times I tell people who spend thousands of dollars on new cabinets it's "only a box with doors" and they laugh at me. After they tell me how much they spend, I'm the one laughing... all the way to the bank. Way to go... I'm so proud of you guys for "gettin it done" and not being afraid of making mistakes.
Answer to you question it never gets easier. Love the channel and content.
Thank you Jeff!
Looking AMAZING - Ya'll are kicking some serious butt!!
Thank you Matt!❤️
You might want to cut some vents into the back/bottom of the cabinet above the fridge to allow heat to escape. - Great Job Guys.
You're doing a great job but I believe you need a propper track saw, it would make measurements more accurate and speed things up so much.
We will look into it!
WOW! Everything looks beautiful and professional. You are amazing. Thank you for sharing.RB
Thank you Richard!❤️
Jim, the dado joinery would hold you both inside the cabinet. You can always add additional shelves or cabinets later. Overwatering and evaporation is why drip irrigation is the best for gardening and landscaping. Hey Gus! Great tip showing the use of the cabinet jacks.
All I have to say is "Outstanding." Have an awesome week y'all 👍👍👍👍 for this week.
You both have learned so much and taught people that they can do it, also. 😊
I would put a slider board in there, to put your stuff on like a crock pot or rice cooker. Then maybe you can reach it when it slices out. That's a deep cabinet!
I’m glad that more people get to see what you guys do you have a good channel
Cabinet making is like and art. It makes the kitchen and a joy to work in. Chose wisely and the end product will last for years in functionality and beauty.
Absolutely! We are so happy thus far.
One thing you could do with the cabinet over the frig is put a piece under the very bottom and use it for storage of cutting boards or a pizza thing.
Got a question for you will having oven next to your fridge make your fridge run more?
Great idea, because you don't want to have to take a bunch of stuff out, just to get your cutting board out.
@@garyprivett3821 Not enough to even worry about, IMO.
Thank you for the introduction, I think this irrigation system looks very suitable for my garden😃
A Lidia Hootis 500...Cabinet! Priceless!😂!
😂😂😂
I think the two of you have the natural ability and tenacity to tackle about anything. Next time you need to build similar items, you would be better off buying the lumber and plywood and make it from scratch.
As a retired cabinet maker and woodworker, my advice to you guys is to get a good used table saw. 90% of cabinet making can be done on a table saw, plus you will use it for more thing than you can imagine.
I've got a saw guide very similar to that - while we're all admitting our mistakes - never assume that pretty edge you're measuring off of is square to the perpendicular edge! I wrecked a large chunk of material doing that. Ended up with an interesting parallelogram sheet. :(
We always check about 5 times just to make sure. We have done the same as well!
I am very impressed with your cabinet making skills. Especially since you have no previous experience. You guys are awesome.
God Bless you.
So much inspiration gathered from this episode. Truly invaluable lessons for life. Keep going forward. 💙❤️
Thank you Alvin!!🤍
1 tip... Instead of having to measure and mark your offset every time, Make yourself a jig block that is the offset. IE: a strip of 4 ft long plywood that is 2 3/8" in this case.
Make your needed measurement for the cut, then set the jig block there, and attach your straight edge clamp. Boom. Bob's your uncle.
Your attention to detail just gets better and better - so pleased for you both that more and more intricate projects are not fazing you out - you now have the confidence in your own abilities to achieve whatever targets you set for yourselves. That old adage comes to mind "Failure to Prepare = Prepare to Fail". Thank you for taking the time and trouble to upload another video, good fun to watch!
I gotta say I started by checking out your dry pour video but liked you guys because you are my kind of people if I lived near you we surely be good friends. Now that I've watched and gave a thumbs up on every video. I also wear Crocs everyday I love the nickname Captain we need a nickname for Lydia I have one for Ladly everytime I see her smiling face I can't help but to think what a Cajun cutey 1more thing Captain Crocs if you ever start a band I see you play guitar 🎸 I have a name for your band Hootis and the crawfish starring Captain croc
So happy to have you as part of the Cajun Family!🐊
We absolutely need a name for Lydia.
Ladly has the 2ft timer, but she’s soon to be 3ft timer!!
We both plan. Maybe we can teach lad the drums! Love that name!!
I can't believe you got yourself up in that Cabinet!!
Excellent Flexibility skills 👍
Great job guys! Better for people to learn there is no such thing as a perfectly square
or plumb wall before running thru expensive material and the frustration. You could
put a nice water feature like they use on patios or garden areas in the empty space
with led lighting. All you'd need is power to that space and you could change it up if
you want something else later on.
You two are unstoppable!!
🤞🥰😁
❣️the wall is looking so good. Y'all do such great work together.
Thank you Tammy!
Cabinets are looking great. Y’all do good work. ❤❤❤
You for sure built those cabinets the right way, there is no way those cabinets will fail. Well done.
Wow just wow!!! You guys are amazing! The cabinets are awesome, you should be so proud of yourselves! Love watching you continue to build your dream!!😘😘😘
Thank you!!❤️
Love how playful you both are
Thank you!
Green Screen? - So fancy. I really appreciate y'all taking on the mig task of kitchen cabinets, and I like the way you are going about it. Systematic and one piece at a time. Great job and progress. - cheers
Haha we thought y’all would get a kick out of it. Next up is the weather.
Looking very good. I think you have made a great decision to omit that cupboard. As you said Mr. Croc, there will still be plenty and this give the opportunity to become creative. Haven't seen your final plan, but even the stove there would have been great with lots of prep area both side. Intrigued to see the end 👏
Good job people! Congrats!
Thank you!!😁
I received the mug and what Jim might call a "keeps a drink cooler longer hootis" was included! :)
Looking good y'all, catch at the next roundabout.
See ya then James!
All in all, this might be the best video to build one confidence🤔🤔❤ !! This video absolutely amazing to me on how quick you figure things out. Y’all need to be very proud of yourselves. See you on the next video !! ✌🏼😎🇺🇸🥇🥇🥇
Thank you so much Bruce! ❤️
Wow. Great job on the cabinet carcases. Can’t wait to see why you do in the middle section. Jim, loved the Lydia storage hootis.
Hope yous are all well from the Highlands of Scotland
Thank you!!
As a cabinet builder I have to say you two are doing a wonderful job. When I heard you say loose your fingers I worked with a guy who absentmindedly lost his fingers. So be mindful. Now as I just got done telling Summer from can't contain us my 6 yr old watches the vids with me ND she has taken to calling you guys the big sister and Summer the little sister. She'll say can we watch the big sister or the little sister first. Once again you're doing a fantastic job
Thank you so much!
The cabinets look spectacular! But I do admit to liking the osterich version, too...
looks absolutely amazing, the finishing touches and trim will really make it shine.
I love the cabinets you have made.i cannot wait too see the finished product.take care and as always God bless you and your family always ❤❤❤❤❤ 16:54
I put big baking trays, sheets, platters, etc. I was able to get dividers to hold up the platters which makes them easy to get out.
You should still prime all the walls even if they are hidden so you don’t end up with mold from moisture
We use that 3-5" space above our frig. to hid our cooking trays.
Making -making cabinets great again. lov from south alabama dixon line.
Absolutely!!😁😄😃
Seriously good cabinet work. It's not easy but you killed it.
Thank you Dennis!!
It does look beautiful and fit , I wish I have the tallent and skills like Jim , we bought a new house 10 years ago , I never like the way the builder installed the microwave, it too high and I never see the bottom of my microwave, unless I use the chair 😂, my neighbors have the same problem too , 😂
Oh my goodness! Well Lad is going to have the same issue but we will get her step stool out! Thanks for watching!!
❤❤❤❤ love ya!!!!!!
Much love Bonnie!❤️
Wow y’all do good work.👍
Thank you!
the cabinets are looking great, thanks for another vid , being stuck in a hospital again your vids help me smile, the issue with my leg has come back, love your vids and god bless
We hope you recovery quick. Glad we can be there with ya.
Put dividers in either above the oven or the fridge to us to stand baking sheets, etc. if room is left over use it to store casserole dishes on the side.
Great idea!
Love ❤️ the way those turned out!! Keep on building!!
Thank you!
I’m enjoying the progress of this build. I can t wait for these oversized cabinets to be complete. Tw, I’ll be doing a dry pour concrete because i absolutely love your videos and you inspired that I’m capable just like you guys.
Love the size of those cabinets. God bless y'all.
Looking good! 👀

I think it's safe to say... no matter how big you make your cabinets, they'll always end up full.

Thank you Brandon!
Them cabinets came out better than those store bought ones!! If you have the right tools to work with everything else simes simply!! I love the video as always and I will catch yall Wednesday have a awesome week my friends ❤
Building cupboards and cabinets is a real education. They are looking great. BTW, do you think putting a heat source (wall oven) right beside the fridge will make the fridge work harder? Can't wait to see that wall decoration.
There's a wall between them so that wouldn't be an issue, but generally a fridge shouldn't go next to an oven.
@@chucky6367 an uninsulated wall can become very warm when baking a roast or a turkey for hours
Well said Lyida...that look great
that looks really nice
Thank you!
wonderful excellent i do like the new look of the kitchen you seem to be realy experts please go on and some other new projects God be with you
I can't believe nobody commented on saving that center cabinet. You can never have enough cabinet space lol. If you didn't need the cabinet, eventually all you would have to do is take the doors off and nobody's the wiser. Done deal. Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada
Another awesome job!
Cabinets look great...........
Great look!
