I just think it's neat that little girl is gonna grow up the house her parents literally built. People say that all time figuratively, but these two took a figure of speech to a whole other level.

@@CajunCountryLivin She will learn a few things... She'll see both of you setting a great example of a "learning/growth mindset" and she will know it's OK to try and make mistakes... as long as you learn from them and keep going. She'll also see the value of hard work... and will hopefully gain an even deeper respect for you both and the knowledge that we ALL stand on the shoulders of giants... the work of others that have sacrificed and worked to make life as good as it is now. Proud of you guys. I've enjoyed watching these vids and have gone back to the start to watch the series... up to about 50 now. You're killing it!

You guys are getting so good at building cabinets!!! I want ya'll to know how much we are enjoying your videos. I think I've told you that Marie is staying with and taking care of her elderly Mother down at the coast of SC while I'm up here on our place in the upstate mountains of SC. We watch your videos at the same time and text back and forth with each other as we watch. You have no idea how nice it is for us to have these moments "together" on Sundays and Wednesdays during this time apart. For that, we thank you so much.🥰 Now, I think you better go check on the dog. Last time I saw him, he was screwing himself into the ground.😆

Looks good … a couple of suggestions Kreg make a jig to make adjustable shelves and it works great …. The cabinet above the microwave add a shelf and layout lines of dowel rods cut to length I’d use oak dowel rod and use it for flat pan storage with your pans resting on edge ….

I think the two of you have the natural ability and tenacity to tackle about anything. Next time you need to build similar items, you would be better off buying the lumber and plywood and make it from scratch.
As a retired cabinet maker and woodworker, my advice to you guys is to get a good used table saw. 90% of cabinet making can be done on a table saw, plus you will use it for more thing than you can imagine.

  • @DrFiero

I've got a saw guide very similar to that - while we're all admitting our mistakes - never assume that pretty edge you're measuring off of is square to the perpendicular edge! I wrecked a large chunk of material doing that. Ended up with an interesting parallelogram sheet. :(

1 tip... Instead of having to measure and mark your offset every time, Make yourself a jig block that is the offset. IE: a strip of 4 ft long plywood that is 2 3/8" in this case.
Make your needed measurement for the cut, then set the jig block there, and attach your straight edge clamp. Boom. Bob's your uncle.

Great job guys! Better for people to learn there is no such thing as a perfectly square
or plumb wall before running thru expensive material and the frustration. You could
put a nice water feature like they use on patios or garden areas in the empty space
with led lighting. All you'd need is power to that space and you could change it up if
you want something else later on.
