I lifted the Inver stone (chest height only) when it was outside the cottage. June invited us in to sign the guest book and sat us down for a cup of tea and a cake. She was very welcoming and seemed accustomed to strangers showing up on her doorstep. Maybe you'll plan a Scottish stone lifting tour at some point?
Amazing well done, and great that you managed to get to meet her! I'm hoping to do so, boxed off a lot of the main ones thus far, The Chieftain Stone is next on my radar, but going to focus hard to try and justify giving the Husafell a go!
I love stone lifting; I also have a glass spine (and chronic back pain I haven't been able to shift for the last 10 years), but at least I can still dream of lifting the Husafell stone, and inver stone, and dinnie steens, and fulsterkur stone, etc etc etc .... But would love to see a regular/irregular series of you lifting some stones scattered amongst your other training goals!
Hopefully you can get recovered at some point! If you haven't already seen, you can go back on the channel and I've done: The Dinnies, The Gathering (5 events), and the Dalwhinnie Stone as part of the Loch Ness Marathon video.
As a hybrid athlete, do you bulk and debulk? or is that not a thing in this line of fitness? is that just a bodybuilder thing? if so how do you find the right weight you should be at to tackle such things
Great lifting mate, the Inver is still one of my faves. Also, I spotted a very bonnie gentleman following you with the drop pad when you were doing the Husafell. 😃🪨

Bloody incredible! Well done Fergus, you’re a legend and an inspiration.
Very cool to see this. Love the scottish tradition in lifting. Also, (as a german) how are our elderly people just absolutely everywhere?
Haha they do get around!
