These crash courses are a godsend for those with ADHD. The visuals really enforce the absorption of the information by keeping my brain stimulated and engaged. The screaming helped too lol. Thank you for the lesson!
I am a first time college student and aspiring psychologist. I just wanted to say that your videos are fantastic and really help me as, my psych professor lectures her classes in a way that makes me want to fall asleep and she talks so fast and rambles so much that I'm never quite sure when she's transitioning into another topic. Love the way you describe the facts.

Taking a Biopsychology class right now for spring term and this really helps condense what we're learning in class into a easy way of learning the info. And you scared the heck out of me, Hank.

I have been loving this series. I have to watch these episodes for my psychology class and the way you present the information, is exciting and entertaining, making learning more fun. :)
Actually, there's a flight, fight and freeze reaction. Freeze is often forgotten, but just think of a deer in headlights or "playing dead". And serotonin can be related to different anxieties as well. Like, for example, if I take sertraline (increases serotonin levels) it could help with not only my depression but my social phobia as well! Or any other anxiety disorder that I may or may not have in this scenario
Man, I was looking down taking notes when he hits me with the bloodcurling stream which didn't exactly scare me, but sent massive shivers down my spine. Gotta love it
I'm glad he got this part of "psychological is biological" out of the way. It generally gets my goat when people claim the mind is immaterial because we "think of immaterial things" (despite we haven't proven those ideas are in any way existing outside of our personal bias). I will think the mind is immaterial once we have an instance of mind without a body that we can observe and say "yeah, it's intelligent and interacting, but it lacks a body to maintain it"
Unless it interacted with our physical plain in some way. I have no interest in learning about any sort of immaterial "mind" that exists in our plane of existence and isn't willing to show itself. Because if it isn't willing to show itself, and there is no way of understanding it, in any way whatsoever, then we might as well dismiss it as non-existent as even those who claim it to be real have no real proof of its existence. I believe in things for which there is evidence, because the immaterial presents no evidence, and affects the physical world in no way, therefore, it is of no consequence to our lives, unless you assume it to be true and decide to go purely on that "gut" feeling which is about as reliable as a baseball bat made of liquid water.
I have to watch a bunch of boring videos for Psychology, but whenever my teacher has me watch these videos, I get all happy and excited. Keep up the good work!
