The problem is that when someone tells a difficult truth, or one that seems unlikely, it will sound exactly as if they are lying according to this video. Stuff like using complicated language or not directly referencing yourself can indicate that whoever is saying it is nervous, and they would be nervous if they were telling a lie or telling a difficult truth.
the video is pseudo-science, if there were ways to tell lies beyond actually discovering the truth we would surely all do that because learning of the truth through investigation can be quite difficult at times.
We also use complicated language, like the statements described in this video, in order to reduce uncertainty and prevent misunderstandings or misconstruction.

That moment when you say that you've forgotten your homework at home, and being a forgetful yet diligent student, you DID forget it, but the teacher doesn't believe you since your classmates have used that as a lie a lot of times before.
Over explaining yourself or being defensive, especially when nobody actually accused you of anything is a sign a person is a liar. Also, when you tell the truth your story stays the same because you don't have to remember anything.
It does make it much easier if you question a potential unknown motive being the reason behind your lies. Example: I am limping because my leg hurts, but what if I have some unconscious desire for attention that is causing me to limp and feel pain. Therefore my leg mustn’t really hurt for I am only limping because of an unconscious motivation.
a good liar when telling a lie always thinks that it is a truth. Basically a person who is highly intelligent and good at observation can spot a liar better.
all you really have to do is convince yourself you're telling the truth, i used to do this when i was younger, would think "yea i mean it happened in my head didn't it?" also just don't think you'll get caught with your lie, its gonna make you overcomplicate things and as a result you'll have a messy story and will most likely get caught.

How to you think religions have prospered so much despite so many "certifying engineers", like Russell or Bacon, critiquing them? It's because clerics are the best liars. They lie the biggest but do it so confidently that they start believing the lies themselves. Can you believe a big chunk of the American population, even among the educated ones, think Jesus walked on water?! Can you believe there are Muslims with Ph.Ds who think Muhammed flew to the 7 skies? So no, not even a certifying engineer has chance against a good lie. Btw, are you an AME?

She was mad but she still love you, but she want you to try harder. Women are not direct in expressing feeling wether it's good or bad feeling or both. Gooodluck
The best liars are the ones that don't feel the guilt or the anxiety by doing it. They don't keep constantly thinking "I'm lying right now, can I do it, do they suspect me?" like what happens to the majority of people who try to lie. Also, when you really trust a person, and they have you sucked in, these "how to spot a liar" techniques don't even cross your mind. It's cool to imagine you catching every person that tries to lie to you, but reality is different. You get lied to most likely every day, probably multiple times a day without you knowing.
+James Patrick I wouldn't necessarily call it lying if you believe it yourself. I would rather call that being mistaken. For example if I thought lightning struck outside, but it was actually a rocket, then would it be a lie if I said it was lightening? I agree with Nick about who the best liars are.
+Nick P But it's like, a little sad if you have to watch every person's move and check if he/she's lying, all the time. Your cautiousness and lack of trust cut you off from any real relationships, making for an isolated social life in which everything that comes from outside of you is filtered. I think that's why some people choose to believe lies.
As someone who has suffered for most of his life with a case of what may possibly be described as chronic social anxiety, I tend to have trouble when verbalizing to others due to the fact that I often stumble over my words on a consistent basis when presented with a stressful situation, regardless of whether I am intentionally telling the truth or conjuring a fib.
+Miku Hatsune People who know you would know that and take that into account. In finding out if someone is being deceptive, you need to know what their baseline behaviour is.
Here's a wrench, though: sometimes people feel like they have to give more reasoning and convoluted explanations when they're telling the truth because they assume people will think they're lying. I've had situations like that.
Me too. It happens the most when I am actually telling the truth but I am worried people will think I am lying, I'm not sure if other people experience this but it happens a lot more than you'd think (Especially since everyone seems to be fascinated about why I missed school that one day)

When you speak, speak clearly, concisely, and confidently. No matter the content of what you're saying, it's an effective rule of thumb.
|Innovation| if it's difficult, we will know that.
the video is pseudo-science, if there were ways to tell lies beyond actually discovering the truth we would surely all do that because learning of the truth through investigation can be quite difficult at times.
We also use complicated language, like the statements described in this video, in order to reduce uncertainty and prevent misunderstandings or misconstruction.

Over explaining yourself or being defensive, especially when nobody actually accused you of anything is a sign a person is a liar. Also, when you tell the truth your story stays the same because you don't have to remember anything.

Eric Mwizerwa But would it be a lie if you believed it??
yes, it is still a lie
I also am a practitioner of cognitive dissonance
It does make it much easier if you question a potential unknown motive being the reason behind your lies.
Example: I am limping because my leg hurts, but what if I have some unconscious desire for attention that is causing me to limp and feel pain. Therefore my leg mustn’t really hurt for I am only limping because of an unconscious motivation.

all you really have to do is convince yourself you're telling the truth, i used to do this when i was younger, would think "yea i mean it happened in my head didn't it?" also just don't think you'll get caught with your lie, its gonna make you overcomplicate things and as a result you'll have a messy story and will most likely get caught.

+Nick P The best liars believe their own lies.
+James Patrick I wouldn't necessarily call it lying if you believe it yourself. I would rather call that being mistaken. For example if I thought lightning struck outside, but it was actually a rocket, then would it be a lie if I said it was lightening? I agree with Nick about who the best liars are.
+James Patrick thats how to beat a lie detector, u believe it urself
+Nick P But it's like, a little sad if you have to watch every person's move and check if he/she's lying, all the time. Your cautiousness and lack of trust cut you off from any real relationships, making for an isolated social life in which everything that comes from outside of you is filtered. I think that's why some people choose to believe lies.
One technique I use to spot liars is actually learning what the truth is, independently.
I didn't know "I love you" was a lie!
