Bro this is 12 years old but my car is 22 right now. I totally replaced both belts just by following your guide. Very to the point and easy. And overall in good American English! 😂
Thanks so much for that I have a 98 lancer that had belt squeal that wouldn't go away no matter how much I tightened it. This video made it much easier to fix
Hey...awesome video. I have to change my power steering belt and my alternator belt. Bought a Chilton's but that thing is crap for this job. Your video is waaaaay better. Thanks guys!
@greenhulk81 I might be a while before we are able to make that video, we do have a video of replacing the rear drum brake shoes on a different vehicle though,, it's not exactly the same as your car but all drum brakes are similar.
Hi mate, i got a 2003 mirage. it was killing me to put my ac belt on. i just couldnt do it then i had to put back my old belt. could you plz tell me whats the part number? i know this video is 2 years old. but still if u can. the new belt i got 5PK1065 and old one is 5PK1090. are they same? tho my new one a just lil bit shorter than the old one. first i thought maybe my old on stretched a lil. but i just couldnt put it on. please reply. thanks.
Technically each of the belts on this car is called a serpentine belt, there are two styles of belt, the Serpentine (Sometimes called Multi-Groove) and the V-Belt. They don't necessarily have to 'snake' around multiple pulleys. A serpentine belt can drive a single accessory, as long as it is a multi-groove style belt, it's considered a serpentine belt.
Mitsubishi Pajero 1.8 IO: I get a belt squeal after splashing through a puddle which coincides the steering becoming heavy as the power steering briefly stops functioning.

Thanks for explaining as you go. I've watched so many videos where they just do the work and don't explain anything.
Thank you so much. I couldn't figure out how to loosen this wretched belt until ur video.
This is exactly what I needed. I'm working on a 2000 model, seems to be the same or close enough. Thanks for the video!
Was your Air condition working ? My AC works but it Makes the noice when I do a left or right turn, or I press on the Gas.
@@maxamillionese8519 it could be the belt

My pulley tensioner isnt moving, I think the bolts are just on too tight maybe, what should I do?
thank you for this video. 👌🏿
Finally! I've been wondering how to reinstall the belt that fell off.
How about the other belt with the Alternator how do you remove that one.
Thanks for the video V/R NC1(SW) Melchor USN Retired.
Thank you so much. I hope you make a lot of video which is very helpful to us on saving time and money.

I have a 97 Mirage I followed all the steps. However it still squeaks and when I turn the steering wheel the belt stops spinning. Any tips?
it will be similar, I think it depends on which engine the Eclipse has though.
Would it be the same for a 1996 Mitsubishi Eclipse?

Consider yourself lucky. The tensioner bolt on mine is bent and won’t tighten or loosen. Now I need a whole new assembly.
does anyone know if a coolant leak could be due to a water pump needing replaced
It sounds like the belt isn't quite tight enough, tighten it up some more and you should be fine.
