Thanks again Josh! I appreciate it when you actually lay down on the sofa and sit at the tables because it truly gives a better ideal of size. Thanks 😊
THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! You are the BEST Uncle Josh! I was one of the folks who wanted to see the Reflection 150 series, and you delivered! This is my personal favorite of the series, and is near the top of the list of RV's to buy when it comes time to pull the trigger. I got to see this one in person at the Quad City (Davenport) Bish's, and was REALLY impressed! And the one I saw was in travel mode, they did not have the slide extended. But even still, it's such a nice OPEN floor plan. You are correct about one thing for sure, this is the 5th wheeler for people who want to do a lot of traveling with their camper. And you are correct that despite the "150" name, you really should haul this thing with a 3/4 ton pickup, especially since the GVWR is nearly 10,000 lbs! PAY ATTENTION TO UNCLE JOSH KIDS, he knows what he's talking about. Excellent job asking people to compare this to the Cougar 24RDS, as they are both excellent. I've not been able to see the Cougar in person yet, but I do want to see one in person before I make any final decisions. Here's what I like / dislike about the two of them. 1. COUGAR'S removable table is an outstanding idea, even if it cuts down on leg room. It's also more stable than the wobbly one in the Reflection. Score one for Cougar! 2. GRAND DESIGN does a far, far better job on giving you tremendous storage space, even without a wardrobe in a slide. I'll take more drawers over a Tootsie Toaster any day of the week. And the way they designed that under bed storage is fantastic. Score one for Grand Design! 3. COUGAR'S bright white interior is really nice, and makes for a very roomy feel. However, I really do like the warm, brown tones of Grand Design! I could easily live with either interior, but I'm going to give a slight nod to Cougar. Score one for Cougar! 4. Yep, I tried out the mattress on one of the Grand Designs, and I was impressed! It' didn't suck! Score one for Grand Design! If any of you folks out there are interested in ANY Grand Design, try and find a way to the Quad City Bish's, as they have an AMAZING selection! You really need to see these in person to appreciate them. SPECIAL REQUEST: the next time you are at the Quad City Bish's, please do a video on the GRAND DESIGN SOLITUDE 390RK. It's too big for me, but it is the MOST AMAZING big fifth wheel I've ever seen. Thanks again for all you do Uncle Josh!
We have the 2021 260RD and love it. It has the standard 2 way fridge, but it is huge. The storage is awesome, especially for the size of the trailer. The windows (light) are great, the awning is a nice size. Love the autoleveling feature. Large tanks for boondocking, we also added the solar panel to our unit (did not come standard in 2021). Tows really well with a Duramax 2500 - hardly feel the weight. Bike rack works well in the rear hitch. Large bathroom which is nice, including the shower size. Tows really well, and is relatively light for a fifth wheel. The rear table on the adjustable pedestal is one of the best dinettes we've ever had in 36 years of RVing! The Nautalis system is the best "water" system we've ever had. Excellent bed and great storage in the bedroom. The number of drawers in the unit is unbelievable! Auto lights in passthru storage, at front door, and in bathroom. Large awning is awesome, as we live outside most of the time. Overall, one of the best trailers we've ever had, and we've had 7 from mostly different manufacturers, so I think we have a good overall view on what works and what does not. The only, and I mean only, downside is the lack of access to the bath and bedroom because of the slide, when you are travelling. Other than that, awesome. Thanks for your great reviews - we really appreciate the level of detail and the humour, even if some of it falls into the Dad joke category (which is my category).
It’s really hard to find a fifth wheel with a rear dinette, but I love it. How many times have you had a great view out the back of your campsite, and the ability to sit there and enjoy it is great. Usually it’s a sofa there so you get your back to the view.
I think that over all it is a comfortable coach for 2 adults and 2 Blue Heelers. Just wish it had more basement storage. In February of 2023 we are going to pull the trigger on this unit.
I love this floor plan. I prefer the cougar since it has the electric fireplace to save on propane. I can’t believe that they haven’t gotten rid of the carpet.
WOW!My new favorite 😍. I would want this with theater seats and if possible no dinette but a televator and fireplace. Maybe some of those swivel tables for the recliners? Like the closet arrangement and those night stands are wonderful! Not a fan of the carpet in the bedroom or in the storage. Great mini kitchen outside! Since I live in the Deep.South I wonder if I might need a 2nd AC in the bedroom. Great vid! Thanks Josh!
I know when I lived south of Atlanta in Georgia you'd want that 2nd air for sure. That humidity was brutal They've updated their decor a bit now btw. You can get a peek at it here: ua-cam.com/video/-WfQS5CoFjQ/v-deo.html
Great Review Josh, been following you for a few years now and enjoy your reviews. We looked at the Cougar 24 RDS and then the Reflection 260 RD. We went with the Reflection for a number of reasons. It had a very nice pantry and 6 large drawers when you come in to the RV, and did not need the fireplace. We liked the 3 person recliner and the ( 2021 ) 12cf fridge. The last thing that kept us away from the Cougar, is that Keystone does not have any National or State Rallies. That was a BIG draw for Grand Design as well as their traveling RV Techs that attend all the State and National Rallies to do emergency and recall repairs, and given time will take care of other problems. My wife and I get a kick out of all your videos, even if we are not buying things right now. Thanks
We couldn’t decide between the Jayco 24RE or the Keystone Cougar 24RDS this is the perfect combo of both. Love the couch and two windows in the bedroom.
Josh, I called Grand Design with a recommendation. I currently have a 17MKE and looking to upsize to the Reflection 150, 260 RD. I have two suggestions. 1. Dimmable lights. The way the lighting is set up in my MKE and the 260 RK is all on or all off. There is no independent light over the sink . The light over the theater seats is all on or all off. It would be nice to have dimmable lights. In the evening, it would be nice to have soft lighting. 2. Is the door window. I had that window with a shade added to the MKE. The Reflection does not have the shade either. Once the door window with shade was installed on the MKE, we reversed the direction, so the shade went up rather than from the top down. This allows you to see outside and still have privacy. We enjoy watching your videos and appreciate the reviews and candid presentation.
I live in England and have a 5th wheel and I have those yellow step stabiliser and to me they are great it certainly stops the trailer shaking and moving when you exit and enter the trailer
Thank You Josh yet again for a great video. I like the floor plan but I really need to be able to get to the bathroom when traveling. I am really a big fan of the Jayco 24RE HT. I love the pantry in it. I still would like to have a bedroom slide out though.
Love this camper with the exception of that rear booth table. Sure it’s cool and I know you like it, but it’s a warbler. One game of Uno and everyone’s drinks are on the floor.
Josh, we have the GD 311BHS 21' model. If you could do a walk through like this on a 22' or (23' seeing as how we're so close to the middle of the year) that's be awesome. Absolutely love our GD and have been nothing but happy with it and have been full time for the last 10 months. I believe the dealer one would purchase from makes all the difference with their PDI and how well the experience is for the end user. GD does make a quality RV...sorry if I sound like a fan boy! Thanks again Josh, great video and I totally appreciate your "dad" humor!
I've been watching your content for quite some time now and while I'm not in the same country to purchase from you, I really value your insights on a lot of the RV features you show. The really cool thing about the timing of this video is that I literally just purchased this unit on April 23, and will get delivery mid May. I wasn't second guessing my purchase but you absolutely showed more features and explained more than the rep at my local dealership had and really made be feel great about choosing this unit. Thank you Josh!
Me and my wife just a couple weeks sgo looked at this model very seriously. Without saying the name of the company ( it a brand new facility in Newtown Ct) . They assured me i was good when it comes to towing this with my 2013 Toyota Tundra crew max short bed truck. Then when i got back home i found that the pin weight (empty) was almost a 100 lbs over my trucks total capacity. Needless to say we had to back out of our interest into this model. They would have sold me this camper no problem knowing what i have to tow it with. Half ton truck owners really should listen to Uncle Josh when He advises you on half ton towability... because most salesmen won’t.
Okay, observation from someone in a wheelchair who doesn't get the opportunity to camp. Notice how putting this layout together gives more floor space, or those that still use recliners or chairs have more floor space. Beyond a place to put your feet. Who considers kids? They get down on the floor, they play with things, they have toys, a place to make a small pallet. Not every camper requires seating space or can use it :)
Excellent review. Really appreciate the honesty. If I came home with this beauty, but my Darling, not being able to get to the bathroom in travel mode, would land me in the Big D 🤮 I have a similar floor plan with a rear door. It came with the same steps. The problem was that because so many rv sites aren’t level I would have to add two additional steps just to get to the bottom step (if that makes sense). So I had to upgrade to the Torklift steps. So for me those bottom stabilizers, although an excellent feature, simply don’t work. Really like the kitchen, tankless hot water heater and many other features on this rv.
They need a bigger tv to watch from the theater seating and I suggest they install it on the ceiling and a drop down and gentle rise back into locking position for the ride and the rest!
Literally hours before this notification showed up, I saw an older one in a parking lot and it peaked my interest. I'm not one for fifth wheels because the giant RVs aren't for me but they seem to be getting more reasonable (either that or I'm thinking longer term as I get closer to retirement). So you're timing is amazing!! 1. "Storage Galorage" is a very technical term... I agree that swapping a couple drawers for a cupboard would be a good trade. 2. As stated, that solar is not near enough to run that behemoth fridge. Seems they should have either included more solar or put in something smaller. 3. Loved this until I went back to watch the Cougar... wish it had the table on the U-dinette but prefer the Cougar over this.
Now that's a great floorplan for when you get there. Really like that bedroom setup. Also like that there's no island in the middle but you still have great countertop space. Only one slide vs the bigger 5th wheels just speaks a lot more to me.
Floor plan is great. We looked at one in a campground recently and are sold. The problem with the flat deck cougar is the pass through bathroom. We hate ours in our 19 heartland mallard 252.
It's a foot longer then the cougar but executed very well like I said the other day. The three person couch, larger fridge, non cable side (which cougar is starting to phase out from what I've seen) obviously with the bedroom slide that the cougar has that might be a selling point for someone but this layout works for me. Ever sense we got our cream reflection my dad has nagged about it lol luckily it's the lighter cream color and it hides dirt and such lol
I definitely like the newer look of these. You nailed it on the bigger sofa and fridge. Adds a smidge of length. But it also makes the rv look and feel like it’s in a different class entirely
I would take cable slides over schwintek ... had schwin before and it caused nothing but grief, I had cable before as well and they can be a pain too but not nearly as bad as my schwintek I had 3 different problems with them. They jammed out of sequence, motor burnt out, someone bumped into the keys on the schwintek and bent it ever so slightly but it fubared it good.
The U dinette would be a deal breaker. Change it to a traditional booth dinette and it's a good layout. I would maybe even add a peninsula (bonus prep space and/or breakfast bar) at the end of the kitchen under the ET center. With a small electric fireplace in the end facing the sofa/theater seating. Oh! And maybe on the back side of the peninsula (next to the door, under the peninsula) install a washer/dryer combo) Man! I'm good at this design stuff. 🤪
As always great video. Here’s a a model I would like to see if you can do a video on. Reflection 150 Series 280RS. I like the floor plan, but yet I have not been able to find one in person yet.
What I would like to see is a Longer Awning so it would not have it interfere with the Door, bring it all the way back to the back of the unit. Also must have a Powered Theater Seat! All the rest is great!
We have a 2021 Reflection 280rs. We had also looked at a few Cougars. The Reflection felt better built with higher quality! As far as fifth wheels being half ton towable? These units are barely 3/4 ton towable once you've loaded it!
Fart fan... you're the best Josh! I was terrified that Bish's was going to make you tone down the nerdisms a bit. I'm thrilled to see that they had the good sense to let you keep being you. Another incredibly informative and entertaining review. Best RV content on the net!
Thanks so much Josh. A timely review of one of the models I'm considering. You answered most of my questions, including if the sofa was long enough to lay down on for the occasional guest, because lets face it, it is easier to throw a blanket and pillow on the sofa then make up the dinette for sleeping.I wish we had seen the inside of that huge 12v fridge, which I think is a winning feature and may be a good match for cross country longer duration road trips, part of my plan to visit every national park in the lower 48. I think the short length for easier towing and getting into sites along with the big fridge, counter space, and comfy looking sofa, along with a huge U dinette for rainy day card games and work space sets this model apart. And one more question. Was that a rack and pinion slide, letting me open the slide partially to squeeze into the bathroom or bedroom if needed? Thanks, your one of the best uncles I know. hahaha.
Watched this video. Then went and watched the Cougar video. Then came back here again. After looking at both I really prefer the Reflection over the Cougar. One thing is the interior colors. I’m not a white interior person so that’s an immediate turn off. But beyond that the Reflection just offers a lot more. A longer couch. Tankless water heater. Bigger fridge. I’ll take the extra storage over the fireplace. Kitchen counter top extension. I like the way they did storage in the bedroom better too and one less slide is in this case a big plus. True Queen vs Camp Queen. Short bed doors to access the under Dinette storage. BTW Josh I didn’t see an outside access door for the back of the dinette that you mentioned. Did I miss it? Goodyear and TPMS standard. Camera standard. I also love that the Reflection makes use of the height in the kitchen to offer more storage rather than leaving it wasted. There may be more but that’s quite the list already. By Comparison the Cougar offers the fireplace. Frankly I can buy a tower electric heater and that will do the same thing the fire place does. But the Cougar owner can’t add drawers. One place I think both fall down is their slide outs. Those are both big heavy slides and frankly they should both be rack and pinion slides. Between Schwintek and Cable? Hmmm not sure which I trust more. Another factor is who the builder is. Grand Design has a well earned reputation for customer support that goes above and beyond. For example my out of warranty 2 year old Imagine recently had the pull cable for the black tank dump valve fail. The cause was that it had been installed improperly at the factory. I paid for the repair and then reached out to Grand Design. You know what they did? They covered the cost of the repair. Keystone? Not so much. And frankly this brings me to my final issue. Keystone and how they price options. For example you reviewed another Cougar a while back that offered Goodyears and TPMS in a package. But that package was so expensive that a consumer would have come out hundreds ahead buying and installing those items post sale at full retail price. Their upgraded solar packages are similarly priced so high that you could have the same components installed post sale and save thousands of dollars. I have an inherent problem with a company that does business that way. It sends a loud message about what their ethics and values are and what I can or can’t expect from them after they have my money. In this case I see the Reflection as a dramatically better unit. But even if they were a dead heat or the Cougar slightly ahead I don’t see myself buying a Keystone product.
THANK YOU for taking the time to do the looking/comparing like this. It TRULY helps me understand what folks like/dislike when looking at and showcasing different RVs
I really like the floor plan and all the counter and storage space. Here's a question/ thought for you; you always say about a place for a trash can what about a place for a hamper for dirty clothes? Where do people usually put dirty clothes? I put ours in our bathroom of our Catalina 323bhdsck. We really do not use the second door in the bathroom.
Road mode is disappointing, but any 5er with steps on the DS, that's a given. BUT I do appreciate the steps on this one, as someone who has to keep their camper at a storage lot, those are the best. The stable steps don't work in storage lots.
Yep. I cringe whenever I see a significant "Deal Breaker" I'm about to cover on camera but I do it anyway. I want people to really get the best understanding of the RV possible BEFORE spending their money
Nice layout. I would be a little concerned with having the slide block access to the bathroom while on the road, but that would be one I would have to contemplate. I could see where the dinette table mount may cause issues with the table flips during the Monopoly games. Cheers!
We looked at both the 24RDS Cougar and this Reflection 260RD. The dinette table/bed support (or lack of support) on the Cougar was a deal breaker. A full size person is likely to break the table if sitting on it when it is in "bed mode"
I much prefer this rich looking decor over the farmhouse👍I would also prefer a sleeper sofa instead of the dinette👍No OSB under the bed👍The only thing that is very concerning is the lack of bathroom access😬and that dollar store vent fan😂
Does This come as a regular tow or just 5th wheel? We bought a 1/2 ton with a tow package and it wouldn’t make $$$ sense to get a different hitch. This is beautiful tho. Love your videos because you give the good and the bad.
These steps are superior to my stable steps for overall convenience. You don’t have to worry about folding sand or water into the trailer, and unlike stable steps on my mini lite 2205S, you can always use these on uneven ground and still be able to shut your door😬
Alexander Graham Bell called on his first phone - wants to know at what point his nightcap material was acquired to make that Plaid cushion design. LoL. I really like how this floor plan was designed. For a short 5th wheel, this is actually pretty darn nice. Cousin Ricky needs to reevaluate his life choices, maybe.
Been comparing this to the Cougar 24RDS and just can't get past the poor quality of the recent Cougar builds - peeling walls, mismatched trim, loose hardware. While those are fixable, makes me wonder about the important parts. Talked to a dealer today and they said the new Grand Design 260RD units will have more flat, carpetless slide and lighter decor. Looking forward to seeing them at Hershey. Thanks for the video Josh!
Hi Josh - been starting to see other 2023 videos coming out on this unit (forgive the disloyalty...lol). Changes include lighter wood cabinetry, flush floor slide (rack and pinion maybe) with flooring covering, new backsplash, moved some kitchen outlets down to the wall (think they've been listening to you!), lighter gray furniture, new kitchen and bath faucets, new headboard, master sconces, and gray/silver front painted cap. Can't wait to walk the unit at the show next week.
@@glottsofun9677 I've never been the type to try to tell/push people not to watch other videos. I almost kind of encourage it. What I share is sometimes just one guy's opinion and I've never claimed to be an authority on anything. Just a dude with a few ideas lol I'm eager to see the updates myself
I love the layout of this. The Cougar is my favorite so far. I like the lighter colors. There is also a Rockwood that is pretty similar I like. The bathroom for big guys like me is the one concern. I would remove the vanitey above the toilet for sure. I like the movable tables better in the living room area. I am trying to decide between a 5th wheel and a trailor in the next year and this is the layout I love on both. Thanks for the walk through. With Grand Design, Cougar, and Rockwood would you say one is the highest quality? I heard a few things on this that I like like the tape is better. I also like the Cougar has a fulltime warranty I am leaning that way a bit. In the Rockwood they have the Shower Miser, the camp kitchen, and the construction looks really solid.
@@JoshtheRVNerd I prefer the interior colors in the 24rds, not a fan of a over size fridge especially when it seems to make that pantry closet smaller, the carpet has got to go in the main room. The kitchen table can't move around the room or outside. The bedroom looks like something Dean Martin thought up, I'm a fan of the cougars fireplace. The bathroom seems way smaller maybe because of the bedroom closet protruding in there and I prefer to have the wardrobe closet on a slide, and I much rather have the cable driven slides than the schwintek, There s a lot more but I don't want to nitpick. 🤣😉
I have seen so many other builders try layouts like that 226RK and retire them after a year or two. I don't know how it will be more successful BUT.. GD always has a way of putting a fresh spin on things so who knows!
The carpet needs to go on the slide. Carpet in front of the fridge, ugh! Is there a vertical standing electric fireplace that could slide in where those 6 drawers are? So, basically 3 drawers and a fireplace. Storage and heat! Very nice 5th wheel overall!
@@JoshtheRVNerd I prefer the interior colors and countertops. And I'd rather the toaster over the storage for the cozy factor. That said its al cosmetics really. The GD has better cabinet build quality and ( etc etc etc) they each have trade offs like everything else. But if we're gonna b honest...its all the same thang. Juno? ( Jor case wairkair ;)
Hey there Josh tRVn.... The GD website shows a 370 watt panel for this model. It's shown on the Build and Price page for this model. Does this change your opinion about this big fridge and battery being able to hold up? Personally, I would go with 2 large capacity batteries.
I have that table in my camper, it wobbles unfortunately. But its definitely not a deal breaker for me though. I have a 150 parked next to my 31mb at the camp site right now 🙃
Greetings Josh….your videos are always fabulous to watch!! We are considering buying a Keystone Passport GT 2704 RKWE. Bish’s here in Idaho doesn’t carry that brand. Do you have any suggestions? We are not going to buy one for 2-4 months away so it is not something we need now. Is there an email address that I could use that is not open to the wonderful world? Thanks, Georgia and Cory Hainline
So funny story.. that floor plan was my suggestion to them. Thankfully.. I made the same suggestion to two other builders who also have that layout! Here’s a couple of options for you! Coachmen: m.ua-cam.com/video/XgcwuK8fr3Q/v-deo.html Cherokee: m.ua-cam.com/video/IL9_nFo2Bm8/v-deo.html
@@JoshtheRVNerd I just remembered something else I'd been told about Grand Design building process - they put wooden dowels inside their tubular construction on slides (and other places, I'd think) for screws to bite into so they don't come lose or wiggle out over time.
Great video Josh and I love this model. It would be great for my 2 dogs and me. I'm. thinking about going full time in a year or so, selling my house, my truck, and my current trailer, then buying a F250 and this trailer. Maybe you would be the one to sell it to me. 😊😊
28:27 headed over there now & Ill report back here after… 👀 I already liked that video so I know I watched it already (+ I remember the opening skit) 😏 Similar Road Mode makes both of these awash; however I do T care for or need the electric fireplace, I like their floor vents based on better placement than most, both have carpeted bedroom which I don’t mind, nor is it really a problem in slides if only under the couch (as it’s only when under the dinette or floating dining table is it a problem) plus the Cougar as a free floating table to be used over by the couch for a Dinofa 🛋 = both nice but no cigar for me 😐🫤
user or not... those steps are better than stable steps in many ways, and such an easy modification, am surprised stable steps came before that. these i would prefer over stable steps any day for many reasons.... mainly reasons surrounding off grid camping and travel access. overall nice setup.
I actually really like that little drop leg support system like that. I think it gives a lot of the benefits of the stable steps with a lot of the drawbacks taken care of
I like a little carpet by the bed. What happened to the outside access to the back of the dinette? 🤫. Slide blocks the converter box 😖 and bathroom 😱. Why did they make the big set of kitchen drawers shallower than the rest of the counters???
Thanks again Josh! I appreciate it when you actually lay down on the sofa and sit at the tables because it truly gives a better ideal of size.
Thanks 😊
👍🏻
I cried a little. I feel so bad for cousin Ricky. Love the camper too!! Keep up the great work.
I am here to say I am so impressed with your honesty and desire to make a safe sale. I wish all RV dealers were as reputable as you are.
I want claim to be perfect and I don’t always get it right. But I do try. Thank you.
This floorplan just makes sense👏👏👏
It’s a great one. That big fridge is awesome in something this size
I like it. I'd put a small tandem omni-wheel trailer on the back to pull my motorcycle...especially like the cuddleicious sofa/theatre seat!
Love this floor plan. Thanks for sharing Josh👍👍
That 390RK was on my hit list when I visited and I just ran out of time.
You rock dude. I'll do my best to make it happen! :)
You mean the BEST category of jokes?? 😉
If I were to get a fifth wheel, this floor plan would be on top of my list!!
I really like this Floorplan. I could see myself as a full timer. Grand Design is top shelf for sure!
Glad you like it!
It’s really hard to find a fifth wheel with a rear dinette, but I love it. How many times have you had a great view out the back of your campsite, and the ability to sit there and enjoy it is great. Usually it’s a sofa there so you get your back to the view.
Cougar also does a good version of this layout. You can compare it at ua-cam.com/video/ITCv6B8RNQc/v-deo.html
I think that over all it is a comfortable coach for 2 adults and 2 Blue Heelers.
Just wish it had more basement storage. In February of 2023 we are going to pull the trigger on this unit.
I like it too, checks all the boxes
Great lookin Grand design! Wow!😊😊👍👍👍👍👍
Yeah she was a pleasure :)
It’s very nice. Lots of great storage! In the bedroom, I would fall down and fall going up that step at night!
I literally just brought my 260RD home Yesterday.
Oh congrats! I hope it treats you fantastically
I like this, it is a fifth wheel I would consider. I love how the dinette table can be lowered. Lots of storage space, very nice hanging closet.
I love this floor plan. I prefer the cougar since it has the electric fireplace to save on propane. I can’t believe that they haven’t gotten rid of the carpet.
But on the Cougar the flip up and hold cabinets above the bed will drive ya nuts trying to put stuff away.
Nothing Wrong with carpet for Bare Feet!
@@brianlawliss1080 I don't mind it so much in the bedroom but not under the fridge door.
That humidity was brutal
They've updated their decor a bit now btw. You can get a peek at it here: ua-cam.com/video/-WfQS5CoFjQ/v-deo.html
I think not having access to the bathroom during “road mode” is a killer on this.
Ty for sharing 😊
Thanks
I love comparison info like this. TY so much for sharing Jacko!
I'd like to see a love seat in place of the couch. That would allow for the slide to be shorter so that the road mode would be there.
Daryl - you are killing it Josh! I can’t stop laughing!
lol :)
I really like the whole layout. 👍
Very well done
We couldn’t decide between the Jayco 24RE or the Keystone Cougar 24RDS this is the perfect combo of both. Love the couch and two windows in the bedroom.
The bedroom area is really nice. Just a slightly longer couch in the giant fridge it really get me. It doesn’t feel like just a one slide RV
That's fantastic what a layout!
She’s a winner for sure
Ty for the ideas!!
Really happy with this Camper!
They make a travel trailer version of it too now m.ua-cam.com/video/Kb1fqqHZ7Ug/v-deo.html
Two things Josh; Amazon carries struts up to 200# to accommodate heavy mattresses but you must through bolt and bolster your connection points!
Yeah you'll want to bulk up for those
This is my favorite fifth wheel.. nice video josh
Ty Craig!!
Great review. Really like this one.
Glad you enjoyed it
I live in England and have a 5th wheel and I have those yellow step stabiliser and to me they are great it certainly stops the trailer shaking and moving when you exit and enter the trailer
TY for sharing!!
That’s how monopoly ends in my family too lol
I would love to see one on a 278BH! Love your videos.
👍🏻
we have the 2020 version of this. Our first RV and its a great empty nester couples camper. Downside of the single post dinette is its a little wobbly
TY for sharing Chad. Wonder what could be done to add some stability..
@@JoshtheRVNerd I have seen people on the Facebook Page who removed the post and added swing up table legs, but you lose the bed option
Doesn’t bother me at all. Feedback from owners is the best kind!
Wow TY Ryan!! May I ask where home may be? Canada??
@@JoshtheRVNerd Yes, I'm in Winnipeg, Canada
Me being a single guy and just picked up my 22 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with 8 foot bed THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M LOOKING FOR!!!!
This size fifth wheel is PERFECT for a 3/4 ton! Seems to be 28-34 feet is the most balanced when it comes to living space vs towability.
Thank You for taking your shoes off when lying down.
My pleasure. Just how I was raised
Love this!
If I came home with this beauty, but my Darling, not being able to get to the bathroom in travel mode, would land me in the Big D 🤮
I have a similar floor plan with a rear door.
I understand what you mean with the steps. There are times they aren’t ideal on uneven sites for sure
The controller could handle more panels I believe. 50amp controller can handle some juice for sure
Now that's a great floorplan for when you get there. Really like that bedroom setup. Also like that there's no island in the middle but you still have great countertop space. Only one slide vs the bigger 5th wheels just speaks a lot more to me.
This also has a 12v compressor fridge. It’s just a large one
@@JoshtheRVNerd If that floorplan came in a flat deck with a door into the bedroom it'd be dang near perfect.
@@roannathephoenix8561 you mean like this one? m.ua-cam.com/video/kwO_iByn2BA/v-deo.html
Floor plan is great. We looked at one in a campground recently and are sold. The problem with the flat deck cougar is the pass through bathroom. We hate ours in our 19 heartland mallard 252.
Awesome video Josh!
Ty :)
Oh! And maybe on the back side of the peninsula (next to the door, under the peninsula) install a washer/dryer combo)
Man! I'm good at this design stuff. 🤪
As always great video. Here’s a a model I would like to see if you can do a video on. Reflection 150 Series 280RS. I like the floor plan, but yet I have not been able to find one in person yet.
I will keep an eye out for it. Thank you for the suggestion
I have the solid stance on my tt I love it definitely helps considerably.
Nice 5th wheel but I like the Cougar 24rds better because it has a larger shower and a slide out wardrobe.
TY for sharing!!
Wow this is a tough one. I love the Cougar because it’s a Cougar, but the Reflection I think does have a little bit better storage and kitchen layout
But I like the bedroom layout in the Cougar better!
Thank you for sharing how you see the two of them against one another by the way
Fart fan... you're the best Josh! I was terrified that Bish's was going to make you tone down the nerdisms a bit. I'm thrilled to see that they had the good sense to let you keep being you. Another incredibly informative and entertaining review. Best RV content on the net!
I appreciate you sticking around to see for yourself!
Thanks Josh. Since you asked, if you could review the Reflection 150 Series 278BH that would be great!

Thanks, your one of the best uncles I know. hahaha.
Did it JUST because I knew you are looking lol
That’s a very nice trl. It’s about the size of my first Montana, only this only has 1 slide. Even still, it looks bigger inside.
Exactly what I thought!! Large feeling for a single slide
I like it, and I don't like it. Not for us, but nicely built. Road mode is a killer for us. But I still enjoy the videos. Thanks
Thanks for tuning in, Lane
That’s a fair point too. I do mention sometimes how many rvs lack a place for those. Good input
Ty for sharing Mark. I like knowing what makes the difference to people!!
I much prefer this rich looking decor over the farmhouse👍I would also prefer a sleeper sofa instead of the dinette👍No OSB under the bed👍The only thing that is very concerning is the lack of bathroom access😬and that dollar store vent fan😂
This is the roomiest rv of ive found thats not a 35' - 40'+ (Imagine XLS 22RBE) Best interior space for single & couple.
Yeah this design gives that feeling of almost opposing slides without the extra weight and cost
Does This come as a regular tow or just 5th wheel? We bought a 1/2 ton with a tow package and it wouldn’t make $$$ sense to get a different hitch. This is beautiful tho. Love your videos because you give the good and the bad.
Love your reviews.
Can you recommend any travel trailer with the same or similar layout?
Yep! m.ua-cam.com/video/kwO_iByn2BA/v-deo.html
🤣🤣🤣I'm looking to buy soon but I have more fun watching the videos.
Would you like to know a secret? You can keep watching the videos even after you bought an RV!
Don't know if you guys have these, but be neat to show people a Taxa outdoors mantis trex. Its a neat camper
I have seen a few. Pretty rugged stuff
These steps are superior to my stable steps for overall convenience. You don’t have to worry about folding sand or water into the trailer, and unlike stable steps on my mini lite 2205S, you can always use these on uneven ground and still be able to shut your door😬
Yeah I really like them
Alexander Graham Bell called on his first phone - wants to know at what point his nightcap material was acquired to make that Plaid cushion design.
Let me know what you see
Hi Josh - been starting to see other 2023 videos coming out on this unit (forgive the disloyalty...lol).

I'm eager to see the updates myself
These steps are ten times better than the fold up steps, hate’em
Wow those are magic chairs like BOY!?
I would like to see you review a Black Series HQ19 and a Intech Terra Oasis.
You’re looking at three pretty top level brands there with no clear winner between them. All three earned DSI quality awards this year
Preferring the Cougar 24 rds for a multitude of my personal taste differences.
Mind sharing a few?
I like this model
Would have been nice to see inside the fridge. I do like this floor plan better than the 226 rk.
Ok that’s soooooo big: from Macey
Maxxair fans should be standard equipment in just about everything. Anyway, I prefer the Cougar over GD version.
What is it about the cougar that puts it over the top for you?
That bigger package would be pretty capable of keeping that fridge alive in modest weather
I have that table in my camper, it wobbles unfortunately. But its definitely not a deal breaker for me though. I have a 150 parked next to my 31mb at the camp site right now 🙃
Pretty beefy specs on that 150 I’d guess??

That’s kind of how I see it too lol
@@JoshtheRVNerd I just remembered something else I'd been told about Grand Design building process - they put wooden dowels inside their tubular construction on slides (and other places, I'd think) for screws to bite into so they don't come lose or wiggle out over time.
@@Brigand231 That's actually pretty common at key structure points from most laminated RV brands but it's still a good thing to know and share!
Great video Josh and I love this model. It would be great for my 2 dogs and me. I'm. thinking about going full time in a year or so, selling my house, my truck, and my current trailer, then buying a F250 and this trailer. Maybe you would be the one to sell it to me. 😊😊

I already liked that video so I know I watched it already (+ I remember the opening skit) 😏
Similar Road Mode makes both of these awash; however I do T care for or need the electric fireplace, I like their floor vents based on better placement than most, both have carpeted bedroom which I don’t mind, nor is it really a problem in slides if only under the couch (as it’s only when under the dinette or floating dining table is it a problem) plus the Cougar as a free floating table to be used over by the couch for a Dinofa 🛋 = both nice but no cigar for me 😐🫤
Cousin Ricky's wife's name Daryl. Named after Daryl Hannah possibly? Nice rig & big space.
Sure yeah. We'll go with that? LOL :)
user or not... those steps are better than stable steps in many ways, and such an easy modification, am surprised stable steps came before that. these i would prefer over stable steps any day for many reasons.... mainly reasons surrounding off grid camping and travel access. overall nice setup.
Drawerage/Galorage... is that an option you should list?
Seems like it's something you either have or don't lol :)
What do I need too now about my 18 ft four wins 180 horizon open bow boat to tow behind this fifth wheel?
