The dinning offers up the best of both worlds for those who have a preference. And the booth/bench seat doubles as a trunk/ottoman, someone was on the ball with that thought/idea! Having some access to the freezer will allow putting away those last minute frozen items that we always seem to grab at the store.
Regarding the back cushion on the wall for the bench (ottoman) seating at the dining table, it easily comes off the wall, there's a drawer under the table and storage in the seat of each chair. I'd like Grand Design to install motion lights in every cubby in the pantry as they are often dark holes. Also, I've seen online where owners have made the floor level space of the linen closet in the bathroom a removable access door that also has a cat door mounted in the center to allow a feline access to a litter box, with a motion light as well. A place out of the way both eyesight and smell. This would be simply a litter box option.
We have owned this exact model for six months. I like ninety eight percent of this coach. I tow this with a 2015 6.7 diesel F250 6 3/4 bed 3.55 gearing. I upgraded my truck with Air Lift 5000 lb air bags to level out the ride and a 56 gallon S&B diesel fuel tank. It mounts in place of the OEM tank and is probably the best mod I have done. We can travel over 450 miles while towing before needing to refuel. My truck handles this trailer just fine. My hitch is a pullrite 2700 16K superglide and it makes all the difference. There are several things you did not mention as I feel you only have experience with them when you actually use the coach. First is the raised bumper toe rail in front of the oven/stove top. Due to the stove being recessed about six inches you are constantly tripping over it into the stove anytime you use the stove top. The second issue is the pantry door when opened will allow the door handle to impact the tv screen. I remedied this with a door stop on the slide floor. The third issue would be to change the Morryde steps with the pin to the Morryde steps with the quick release paddle latches. They are so much easier to adjust with the weight of this step. The fourth issue would be the last step from the bedroom stepping down is too short and is a trip hazard. It needs to extend out about four inches. A fifth issue would be the Lippert outside control panel under the front cap. It is mounted too far inward away from the outside wall towards the pin box. In order to access this you have to stoop under the front cap near the pin box. For me this is simply a convenience issue. I would also add popup power towers to the end tables in the back corner next to the sofa, strip lighting in the pantry running from top to bottom to give even lighting on all shelves and additional lighting in the end cap closet. We added a washer and dryer to our closet and the light would be beneficial. One of the questions/comments was pertaining to the Furrion tankless water heater having a 39 degree limit on ambient temperature. We have used our coach in below freezing temps several times this winter and have had no issues with the water heater performance. I have contacted both Furrion and Grand Design in reference to this number and it is simply a matter of liability for them. This coach has a ducted/heated storage bay along with insulated tanks and tank heaters. All of the water lines and tankless water heater are in this bay above the floor and are in no danger of freezing as long as you run your furnace. All of the other issues mentioned in the comment section is window dressing and does not affect function.
@@JoshtheRVNerd We just used our rig in Amarillo Tx with temps down to 26 with a windchill of 17. Our tankless water heater performed flawlessly as it should. I did however have to increase to water temp on the thermostat in order for it to be more comfortable. I bumped it up to 109 on the output with those outside temps. Normally 106 is perfectly comfortable with any temp above 40 degrees. With the ducted heat in the storage bay the temp in the storage bay only got down to 37 with the ambient being 26 and windchill of 17. I might add that the wind was sustained at 26 with gust up to 40. I'm happy to report that nothing happened with our tankless water heater. It was 34 outside temp just the other night and without running the furnace the storage bay temp only got down to 48. I have a thermometer mounted inside the bay to monitor this.
One of the things I find most appealing to Grand Design is that they state that all of their travel trailers and fifth wheels are “Extended Stay Approved”. I’m a registered nurse; so if decided to go the travel nurse route like others have, Grand Design would be at the top of my list.
Simply for what it’s worth - there’s no real definition of what that means. Most any fifth wheel will have the same kind of assurance GD’s customer service is great though. They truly excel in that area
For charging you’re device while on the sofa, I use 10’ cords. This eliminates the factory short cord making it hard to reach outlets from a comfortable position.
We always enjoy your videos. Loved the Barry Sanders quote as we live in Stillwater where Oklahoma State University is. We have plans to purchase this model so I watch every video I can find on it. Yours was one of the most detailed I've seen. I appreciate it. I prefer the one-basin sink because we changed out our sink in our home kitchen a few years ago to one basin and I absolutely love it. Can wash large pans easily; even sheet pans. For those times when a divided sink is necessary to have a tub of soapy water, a Rubbermaid tub does the trick and can be easily lifted out of the way and put on the counter if I have a large pan to wash. Thanks for the good work!
When I was in the towables market, the Grand Design Imagine was on my short list. It was their build quality and manufacturing processes/materials that impressed me. You did a fine job showcasing the Reflection, Mr. Nerd.
@@JoshtheRVNerd is the 2800BH on that list? Love to see a good video review of what’s changed since I got mine. Especially the outside kitchen upgrade they just did.
We just bought a 2022 grand design imagine 2970RL. The light European cabinetry is beautiful and the silver trim is so nice especially when it catches the light! I like the electrical sockets where they are. I can skirt the lamp cord between the sofa and end table. Also it’s great for those in the recliner closest to the sofa to plug in their phone. My unit has a booth dinette and there is a USB on the side for the other recliner.
I love this model and owned an older mode. As for the couch side tables I would like USB ports and power plug on the top of the flat area and back by the window side. I love the new fridge. The bedroom dresser used to have a flip top with a hidden space. Love the king bed and the improved shower and the tankless water heater. This rv pulls very nicely , the solar is a nice addition
My wife would definitely prefer the king bed as well. But I like her with the queen bed you still get some side stands. Eagle does the same thing there
We bought our Grand Design Solitude S-Class 2930RL in September 2021. We love it and are happy we bought this model that fits our needs. Since we are rocking and rolling down the road we have always used Pool noodles as we found they work great for helping to keep things in place. We recently found that even though we have latched the safety door lock on the shower/bath door it manages to come loose, hence using an extra security measure of the pool noodle to keep everything in place.. I modified the noodle specific to our 3 glass doors to keep them in place on travel days. We also use the noodles in the cabinets to help hold things in place. Our RV is well built and we love it. We are not full timers, but use our RV often. Grand Design customer service listens to their customers. We are thankful and happy with our purchase.
@@JoshtheRVNerd , that is great Congratulations on getting the Reflection 337RL that was another one we considered. It’s a great floor plan, we just wanted the side night stands the Bedroom layout & bathroom on the Solitude S-Class 2930RL, I think the Reflection 303RLS we liked also, but we preferred the bath from the Solitude. I think the Newest Solitude 280RK will be a sweet spot for a lot of people.
Under cabinet plugs can be an issue for short appliance cords, difficult to see you are on spot or off from the outlet, difficult for visitors to find, and cords hanging down are usually in the way.
I do agree that I prefer some lower to the countertop but I kind of understand why they didn’t do it in this one at the same time. But then again that’s also why we carry so many different brands of RVs. To always help you get that one that has the features you’re looking for
We finally got our 337RLS last week and we love it. I watched sooooo many of your videos before we made our decision. Thanks for all the great information.
Wow congratulations!! Would you mind dropping me a quick review at g.page/r/CdPcitNVx2nDEAg/review in return for the assistance along the way! It'll cost you nothing and I'd really appreciate it! :)
I agree with the location of some of the outlets and the speakers. My back doesn't bend as much as it use to so having those bedroom outlets close to the floor would be a pain (literally) but overall Grand Design goes a great job . Montana might still be #1 but there's a new kid in town.
Actually last I knew reflection was cranking out the highest volume overall in fifth wheels though I believe Montana may still be highest volume in the luxury class. It all depends on how you want to cook the books. Frankly I could show your way than almost any RV is number one in some fashion
I believe Grand Design is a great manufacturer. Their customer service is one of the best in the business! I love the layout, definitely the layout we are going for when we upgrade to a 5th wheel. The only thing Grand Design needs to do is have a different decor, something lighter. We they finally started putting 12v refrigerators in they came up on my short list. Thanks Josh!
Glad to see the GD content. My wife and I just bought a Grand Design Imagine last fall. One of the things that sold us was the storage. I would vote for the farmhouse sink also. So many pots and pans that just won't fit in an RV split sink.
I had a 303RLS which is basically the same just a little smaller and loved it. Towed it to every state in the lower 48, sat through tropical storm Ida, even stopped by and talked to you for a minute, and never had any problems with it.
You are nailing all the reasons why we love Grand Design. As for your questions...outlets on the bottom are fine, we have long charging cords. I personally prefer the split sink...wash in one, rinse in the other...rather than a farmhouse sink where I have to also store a dishpan in order to divide the sink. I'd love lights on all the shelves in the pantry. And that pull out drawer under the tv...I'd rather that be a drop down front for video games...just a mod we'll have to do ourselves. My only real issue in this particular model is that there are no real nightstands. This is why we have our eye on a 303RLS instead. Looking forward to more of your GD reviews!.
I have a 2018 337 and the first mod I did was to install usb ports in each of the side tables in the bedroom. The factory usb ports are not in the slide out part so you have to disconnect your charges every time you bring in the slide. I sliced into the 12v wire under the bed and installed permanent usb ports in each one of the side tables.
Great job Josh. For all the reasons you talked-about is why we bought a 2018 Grand Design 337rls. We spent a year and 2 rv shows before we purchased it. We love it.
@@JoshtheRVNerd So far mostly California. My wife is retiring on April 1. No joke. Then we will start to live, heading east. We have no schedule, Arizona, New Mexico, and a stop in Texas to see all our friends that left California.
Great layout, we ordered this floorplan in the 2970RL imagine, slight bedroom and bathroom differences but all around great floorplan and overall unit. Can’t wait for our new camper to get here. Loving your new content. So glad you’re doing GD now.
1. Preference is double sink. Dish drainer on one side keeps clean dishes separate & still have sink space for food prep/washing. 2. High praise for Twin Falls Bish's! Our tongue jack failed during our fall 2020 camping trip. Even tho they were booked & busy, they were so accommodating & friendly! Got it fixed & us on our way quickly! (Turns out the factory-installed jack on our 2019 rig had been improperly wired.) Thank you for traveling all the way to ID to showcase that GD Reflection. Really enjoy your walk thrus :-)
Pretty impressive all around, I can see why people praise this brand. That being said, 5th wheels have a lot of space and creature comforts but they are just A LOT in general too. From towing to maintaining to parking there's just a metric ton of logistics. I know a few people that have these that just do weekend trips and I couldn't imagine all that work for so few days. Then again some might say that about my 30 ft'er too.
YES!!! FINALLY! I have been waiting on this one from you! I don’t think there is one right answer to your questions. I prefer plugins low and out of the way, with the split sink, and no outside speakers. Others may not prefer this. I am also really, really looking forward to when they remove the bedroom carpet. Competitors have and I hope this is on Grand Design’s to-do list for this model…and coming soon. NEW GOAL: Comparison between this one, Cougar 316rls, and Alliance 32rls. Purely selfish reasons honestly. :)
Agree on slide-out floor. Just blends in. Side stand outlets. Low makes me think they will be kicked and get broken. How about, inside the storage area with a small notch for the power cords? Big fridge. SWEET! Lights over sofas, perhaps adjustable reading lights like a lot do in the bedroom. Idea for the big drawer under the TV. The "Gamer Package". Add power and cable holes to connect consoles (XBox, PS, etc...). Replace front of drawer with IR\Bluetooth Friendly front (like on the top of the pantry door) or a flip down front to do the same. Nice tub mold. Needs some kind of shelf storage near the head of the bed. Love Grand Designs. Nice rigs. Imagine\Reflection on my short list.
We looked at the GD Solitude 390RK at the Louisville show, and absolutely fell in love with it. Can't upgrade for a couple of years yet, but we're hoping that a '22 will be more affordable at that time (especially as we'll need to upgrade our truck, as well). I highly recommend checking it out, if you can! Try to find one with the pull out kitchen outside. Also - no carpet anywhere! It seems they'll never learn.
For the sofa side tables I would make them with a flip top and shallow pocket with the outlets in it, it would also give a great place for remotes or even a book.
Re side stand power plugs: pop-up outlets in the corner close to the rear window. Re sink: double sink for the win. Farm sink may be able to accommodate larger pots, but unless you camp with a lot of people and cook inside all the time, a double sinks allow for more flexible usage.
My friends have this trailer and love it!! As for the plug-ins by the couch, it's a toss-up because we use the plug-in to plug in an air mattress. It would almost be nice if the side by the fireplace was low and the side by the recliner was high. But that's a bit crazy. Ha Either way works really. I liked Grand Design until I became familiar with Alliance! Both are honestly great, Alliance just takes it up another notch! Love the video Uncle Josh!! "Extra Medium" 🤣 hahaha
Alliance us out of my price range. Some of their standard stuff I can add to my 337RLS for way less money. I care less about the storage behind the fire place. We have two doors to the sides of it. The Alliance is 500# heaver, but has a 1,000# more GVW that we don't need even when snow birding for 3 months or a 2 month summer trip.
@@johnirwin1837 I totally understand where you are coming from! They are definitely high on the price but, I think the build quality is super impressive! The people running Alliance and working at the top for Alliance have come from a bunch of different companies including Grand Design. So they've been able to take all of this collective knowledge and make everything better. I've watched a few of their factory tour videos from different UA-camrs and it's extremely impressive! Their process for making the walls of the trailers is insanely critiqued and impressive. All in house, all matched and "custom built". The quality control throughout the entire build is also amazing. Living full-time in a trailer, it's been hard to find companies where you can buy a trailer and fell confident taking it wherever you decide to go. I've looked at dealerships with an entire lot full of trailers with broken parts and missing pieces in every unit. For me, the attention to detail and quality build of alliance is what I need and look for. Now, gotta get that money to buy it haha
@@brendenspudsbenjamin , I understand and a current GD 337 FLS is probable in the same price range and now out of my price range. I have seen the videos too and like what I saw though I have not seen one in person. As I understand it some of the guys that started Alliance started Grand Design way back when and made a name for themselves.
@@johnirwin1837 Sadly, the good ones have definitely gone out of price range at the moment. And I think you're correct! That front living floor plan is awesome! They make for a very comfortable living situation. Makes it feel less like an RV and more like a home! I can't decide though if I like the front living or a front kitchen most. For me and where I tend to park, having my bedroom at the back is way better than up at the front.
Well, it was great to finally get a great "Josh Eye Veiw" on these models. I see them everywhere, and their customer service is highly regarded by the owners. I agree regarding the fit and finish. Cabinets and trim appear to be professionally done. That said, I am disappointed in the color scheme. I'm not really a fan of the darker wood tones. We're leaning more to the floorplans of the Montana 3120RL, Northpoint 310RLS, Paradigm 310 and the Solitude 310GK. So it was nice to see some design touches we would find in a Grand Design RV. But if we were pulling the trigger on a Grand Design mid-profile, the 337 is that model we would buy. Great video, as always Josh.
As a person with chronic back pain I prefer phone charging outlets to be up high. Never close to the floor. And the double sink is always preferred here.
Josh, great unit, when we shopped for a FW it was GD, Alliance and Montana. Went with Montana due favorite floor plan and full wife approval! Regarding outside speakers, delete them and spend the money on something else. It is 2022, we all have Smartphones, blue tooth speakers and the Sirius App or Pandora.
I prefer slides on the far side of the trailer and a flat surface on the door side making it a more uniform sight and the patio can be the length of the rig.
Power outlets off of the floor, queen bed, outside speakers down low, pantry light a strip light down the side so all of the shelves have light and bigger fan in the bathroom.
I think If the outlets are in side tables like they are here, then just install those pop up outlets on the counter surface. That way it’s there when ya need it. An hidden when you don’t.
I like the plugs higher as I access those constantly. The side table cabinets, I will find a container or even small, narrow shelves that I can pull out to easily access even the floor level bottom shelf, all the way to the back. I've put in mid-to shallow- trays with drawer slides to create access in low spaces. I like the huge (not farm style but as large) sink but I do use a plastic dish pans to conserve water & create the double sink function for washing in one dish pan and rinsing in the other using very little water in each. Still have to huge sink space to wash larger pans (22 qt roaster oven!).
Great job showcasing the Grand Design. It's a red letter day! I have a 31' 2016 model Reflection with the same sunken enclosure for a single 12 volt house battery which made my upgrade to two 6 Volt golf cart batteries a bit more difficult. I would like to see Grand Design include mounting options and ventilation for multiple batteries in the front storage area.
So glad you’re finally able to carry Grand Design! We had a 303RLS but now have a 320MKS which has a lot in common with this camper. One thing I like about GD is the storage over the couch, love seat, and dinette. Many companies are leaving them off. As far as the CPAP use, I found a metal plant stand that fits between the side of the bed and the bathroom wall. I store it in the monstrous closet when traveling. The only thing I don’t like in my 320 is the gas/electric fridge. It’s terrible. I may investigate the possibility of swapping it out for that 12 volt model. Take care sir!
The wife and I have a 2021 version of this model. Same everything except fridge and on demand hot water heater. My opinion, I’m not sure the numbers work with a 3/4 ton. The pin weight alone makes a 3/4 ton go over weight. A 1 ton, single axle, much better match and I highly recommend. The outlets at the couch base, Although could be up higher, they honestly aren’t so bad where they are at. Get a longer charger cord, It’s much cheaper. The couch / hide a bed, Well the couch is good. The hide a bed is so uncomfortable and is off set in levels when it’s extended out. That should be redesigned. It’s horrible, and it’s our biggest complaint on the RV. Luckily, we use the king lol. Setting that aside, this is an absolutely amazing RV model. We have been very pleased. We did upgrade the fan in the bathroom. We did add the aftermarket steps. We also added the Wi-Fi addition. But that’s it. It tows amazing with a single axel 1 ton. Very pleased with the model.
Love that bathroom and may I point out that a bathroom waste basket doesn't have to be tall. In fact all you need is like a medium sized flour pot sized waste basket that wood fit any where on the shelf under the sink.
This is our top choice for when we retire in a few years! I love the 12v 16 cu ft refrigerator. I wish there was an option to have linoleum in the bedroom rather than carpeting.
Love this tv brand. I like the extreme large window in the dinette for sitting and watching kids. The interior is well done and the voluminous amounts of cabinet storage and counter space is insane in a good way. The question you posed on the side stands beside the sofa for the plug in’s located low…….they should do those pop-up cans that you can plug into I have seen in other RV’s. Yep, the tv afterthought in the BR was a bit disappointing but like you said, larger tv with a stand defeats that. Loved the bath and sit down in the shower. I wonder if they make a similar to this exact setup but with a bunkhouse for the kiddos. I think like you said, GD is making a run for being a contender for many. Great job again reviewing my friend!
This model was at the top of our list until Alliance came out with their Avenue line. This camper has alot of great great things going for it, but after seeing the lighter interior of the Avenue along with a few other small differences, we went that direction. . GD has alot of great models and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Great review once again.
Alliances another brand that is quickly earning my respect. I haven’t had a chance to get my hands on some of those but they will definitely be coming to this channel this year
I'm very impressed by the amount and size of the drawers in the kitchen. I counted at least 9. Thats what my kitchen had in my house I used to have. Where I'm at now it had 4 half size drawers so put together that's just 2 normal size drawers.
I hear ya Josh on the manual vs electric recliners. We got my husband an electric one a few years ago when getting new living room furniture. He hates it. If you hear a bang from kids and then hear the tears. There is no getting up quickly. Lol.
I totally understand people who may be have reduced mobility preferring the electric recliners. But otherwise we’re definitely sticking with manual moving forward
I like the manual sofa for many reasons and one is more power saving not having to rely on the power from the RV and if power is drained then you can't operate. Plus less to go wrong. I like very much the bench seat and two chairs for the dining table but almost wish it were reversed with the booth bench and back on the other side but then I know the bench part wouldn't be removable. The extra storage that bench provides is fantastic.
Great job on the Grand Design review. Grand Design does it right in all five of their product lines. But the best part of being a G.D. owner is their customer service. They will do whatever it takes to make it right if a problem occurs. The bedroom in this fifth wheel doesn't work well for me. The bed is too close to the walls and those outlets down low are really hard to get to. One area that Grand Design could use improvement in would be the suspension. Most owners will upgrade from the marginal system that comes from the factory. Looking forward to more of these.
First, Josh, my man, I do apologize for my delinquency of late. But in college, something very special comes along. For me, I'm 61 just recently. I was, and am now inducted into the NSLS. It is an Honor Society for business . Me, a tomboy, farm girl. I did it. Through the Baldrige School of Business at Post University. They informed me at 4: 53 a.m. If I had not been sitting in my chair, I would have hit the floor. I have been following you and seeing how many people are going tiny if you get me. These make good choices for some.
At the sofa the power outlets could be mounted on the back wall just about the side stands that way they are easily accessed and if someone wanted to put a little lamp or some other electrical device it can be done without stretching extension cords all over. That would make it feel more like home and not like you are having to rig something up in a camper.
I would like to see the outlets in the back corner of the couch side tables. Love all of the storage, especially the dinette bench. I like the doors that cover the converter and command panels. Outlets under the kitchen cabinet are nice. Easier to keep the cords organized. Like the towel loop by the bathroom sink. The large drawer under the tv would be great for holding card games, note pad, pens or pens and maps
I really like the dining area....best of both worlds is a definite. I like that the bench part is movable and has storage space too! I the farm sink. And would like a tower of power on the coffee bar. Nice 12v refrigerator!!! Overall.....nice design! Thanks for the video, Josh!
Another benefit of using Truma? They have the ONLY operating hot/cold testing chamber for RVs available right now and it's only available to companies that use their products!
The couch outlets. I would like to see them higher on the front underneath the counter surface with a small shelf underneath it. You could charge your device and put it on top of the side table or set it down on the shelf. Then you could still open the side table from the top.
Own a 2021 303RLS with essentially the same “ground floor” floor plan but with a north-south bed and a smaller radius type shower. Very happy with both initial build quality and dealings with Customer Service! I definitely prefer the double sink (ours has the farmhouse) just because it takes so darn much water to fill the sink deep enough to wash dishes that we usually use a dishpan. Still not sold on the tankless water heater. No way to use that free electricity when staying somewhere with hookups. Kind of the same feeling (but not as strongly) about the 12V fridge. A couple rainy days without hookups and you might miss that propane option. My opinion on this might be colored by having never had any issues with absorption systems on any of my several RVs over the years. On those outlets…. I may be wrong but when I see outlets on exterior walls they seem to be surface mounted (look behind the recliners to see what I mean) so having them on the wall might not be so great and while routing them to above the “side table” door could work you’d be constantly fighting cords in the way of the door. We compromised by just running a short extension cord on the floor and bringing it up behind the couch. Like many 303 owners I sure an jealous of that bedroom closet though!!
Hopefully he’ll yeah you really cannot easily run outlets in a laminated wall since it’s all one big block. Thank you for sharing your experience as an owner though
I love when you do fifth wheels. The half booth thing is doable, but I’d rather have just chairs. I’m thinking that drawer under the TV could easily be modified into a work station
I live in one of these and I would like to have 12v USB outlets by the couch and theater seating. The 110v outlets are fine and work well. But many of us want to charge pads and phones when we’re not plugged in to park power. I’d love that double sink. Ours has the large farm sink.
Flip the side tables next to the pull out bed, so the plugs are above the door not below. USB 3 is now the way to go as well manufacturers need to start updating the plugs
I don't know know what "class" this RV is , but I really like the bigger oven/stove top ! Good deep counter/cabinet space on the coffee bar. Seems like the outlets could go in an inner wall easily 🤔 One piece molded shower ? NICE ! Bedroom closet is awesome ! Tankless waterheater. Cool stuff
I love the fridge. fewer doors, the better. huge inside. great storage . love drawers. RV's depend on em'. some, cabinets are not very deep. Lots of cabinets are so shallow, rv shape. Great drawer space. BathR is good. like sink, and storage under sink. towel storage ok. like Bedroom. combo w/d not split. nice RV.
Really enjoying you showing new lines with the same old humor. Hope some day you are able to review camper I recently bought. Travel Lite Rove Lite 14 BH.
Really enjoy your videos! The many details you include are often beyond what other presenters provide and they one of the reasons we were able to decide on the 2022 GD Reflection 337RLS. You've asked for feedback. Here's mine... Just brought ours home from the dealer 2 days ago. My ONLY complaints to this point concern the breaker panel/cabinet door orientation and the complete lack of audio quality with regard to the TV and stereo; which (for a "luxury" unit), are absolute garbage. My suggestions are as such... The cabinet door should open the opposite way (from left to right toward the steps) so you don't have to be a contortionist to access the breaker panel. And the spring loaded cover should be redesigned so that when it is open, it hinges open from left to right (like the cupboard door should). As it is currently configured, you need to contort yourself around the cupboard door and hold the panel lid up with one hand in order to access the breakers. Nowhere near optimal... And very frustrating. Also, for the money we pay, we should be getting a far better quality audio system (Bose perhaps?) that also works with the television! This is not "rocket surgery". To be perfectly honest, the audio system provided is absolute garbage. And the speakers should be forward facing, not in the roof facing the floor. That said, the quality of everything else is impressive.
The grand design are the best I have seen as far as lay out
Ours has been great since we took it home a week out of the factory in May of '17.
The dinning offers up the best of both worlds for those who have a preference. And the booth/bench seat doubles as a trunk/ottoman, someone was on the ball with that thought/idea! Having some access to the freezer will allow putting away those last minute frozen items that we always seem to grab at the store.
Jayco has offered it as an option for a few seasons but I’ve never seen it standard across-the-board like that
Regarding the back cushion on the wall for the bench (ottoman) seating at the dining table, it easily comes off the wall, there's a drawer under the table and storage in the seat of each chair.
@@davidgeorge3020 the one we toured the seats didn’t have the storage. The bench/back is incredibly uncomfortable but the storage is much wanted.
Single basin kitchen sink for life!
It's my personal preference but I'm pretty easy going on stuff like that. I could make either type work
The 303RLS has the exact same rear layout but changes the bedroom into a N/S bed with wardrobe slide instead. 3' shorter and 1000# lighter.
Unfortunately, for those of us considering full time, living in the trailer the 303RLS doesn't have washer/dryer prep.
Welcome to the Grand Design Club! I cant wait for you to Review some Alliances as well!
They are definitely on the list as well! I hope the year is treating you well buddy
Man THANK YOU for that info on the water heater
Most any fifth wheel will have the same kind of assurance
GD’s customer service is great though. They truly excel in that area
By the by, Luving this new design. " If you build it right, they will come." Quality and versatility matters.
For charging you’re device while on the sofa, I use 10’ cords. This eliminates the factory short cord making it hard to reach outlets from a comfortable position.
Happy to see no cabinets over the head of the bed. I would want a stand, shelf, or drawer for personal items, phone, beverage, glasses or whatever.
Nerd.
Oh thank you! I’ve got a handful Imagine trailers coming as well
@@JoshtheRVNerd is the 2800BH on that list? Love to see a good video review of what’s changed since I got mine. Especially the outside kitchen upgrade they just did.
@@jetdriver You bet!
I really do like the look in those. I’ve got three or four videos of those coming as well
I love this model and owned an older mode.
That’s very cool congratulations. I had the pleasure of reviewing one of those recently and I’m working on getting it out there
@@JoshtheRVNerd , that is great Congratulations on getting the Reflection 337RL that was another one we considered.
Yes true! You always hear the term "best in class" but yet they never tell you what the "class" is lol.
I’ve been waiting for those bigger 12 V fridges to finally be introduced into the industry. It’s awesome it’s finally happening
Thanks for showing the units with the slides closed. That makes a really big difference for us.
My pleasure! So long as you keep watching we’ll keep doing it
Glad to see the GD content. My wife and I just bought a Grand Design Imagine last fall. One of the things that sold us was the storage. I would vote for the farmhouse sink also. So many pots and pans that just won't fit in an RV split sink.
If you watch more of my grand design videos as they were all out you’ll hear me praise their storage work. They really have done a good job there
That drawer under tv is perfect for games, both video and board or card games
I had a 303RLS which is basically the same just a little smaller and loved it. Towed it to every state in the lower 48, sat through tropical storm Ida, even stopped by and talked to you for a minute, and never had any problems with it.
Well thanks for swinging through that’s awesome
Awesome! Thanks for watching!!
LOVE the boothnette! And how it's also a storage trunk/ottoman. Brilliant.
Boothnette Dench 😆
@@JoshtheRVNerd 🤣 perfect!
Nice!
Great job Josh. For all the reasons you talked-about is why we bought a 2018 Grand Design 337rls. We spent a year and 2 rv shows before we purchased it. We love it.
That’s awesome! Where have you been able to take it?
@@JoshtheRVNerd So far mostly California. My wife is retiring on April 1. No joke. Then we will start to live, heading east. We have no schedule, Arizona, New Mexico, and a stop in Texas to see all our friends that left California.
Grand Design and Jayco are my favourite companies right now, Awesome job as usual Josh. Hi from Canada 🇨🇦
I love my Grand Design 295RL. They all just exude quality and craftsmanship.
(Turns out the factory-installed jack on our 2019 rig had been improperly wired.)
Thank you for traveling all the way to ID to showcase that GD Reflection.
Yes finally a Grand Design!!! Can’t wait to see more.
I got about a dozen more coming man
YES!!!
Actually this summer after I get a nice library of new videos recorded I definitely plan to do some trailer battle head to head’s like that
Agree on slide-out floor.
When the power outlets are on the floor, all I can think of is my rabbits are going to clip my cords.
Camprabbits?!
That's a new one! Cool!
Prefer outlet on the wall by the sofa and single sink. Hate the side by side fridge. Thank you for the videos. Love the honesty!!
Thx 😊
We looked at the GD Solitude 390RK at the Louisville show, and absolutely fell in love with it. Can't upgrade for a couple of years yet, but we're hoping that a '22 will be more affordable at that time (especially as we'll need to upgrade our truck, as well). I highly recommend checking it out, if you can! Try to find one with the pull out kitchen outside. Also - no carpet anywhere! It seems they'll never learn.
We have a GD Reflection 2021 31MB. Would love to see your walkthrough of it. Keep up the great work. Thumbs up from Central Oregon!
Awesome! Thank you! I'll keep my eye out for it. I have been able to cover Jayco's clone of that one here in the mean time: bit.ly/3GpJLpj
For the sofa side tables I would make them with a flip top and shallow pocket with the outlets in it, it would also give a great place for remotes or even a book.
I could see that. TY
I'll be working on some alliance stuff as well in the future!
I’m really enjoying being able to get my hands on more things like these
Yepp! Grand Design Toy Hauler is at the top of our list, and now that you have access to them, we're buying from you guys, no doubt about it!
You can see where we have momentum stocked and what they’re priced at right on our website at www.Bishs.com
Worth noting as well, if a fifth wheel isn't an option but folks like the floorplan the Grand Design Imagine 2970RL is the half-ton version
I really tend to agree on the speakers thing. Even a CHEAP portable bluetooth seems to sound better and keep the sound localized
I prefer slides on the far side of the trailer and a flat surface on the door side making it a more uniform sight and the patio can be the length of the rig.
It’s weird how that used to be so normal and now it’s so hard to find
Thanks so much for bringing the Grand Designs!! The one brand my wife and I truly want!
I’ll stay tune because we’ve got more coming!
Keep the dad jokes coming! They make your walkthroughs better than anyone else's. Thanks for another awesome tour.
I’m glad you like them because it’s pretty much all I have available lol
Power outlets off of the floor, queen bed, outside speakers down low, pantry light a strip light down the side so all of the shelves have light and bigger fan in the bathroom.
Thank you for all this
I think If the outlets are in side tables like they are here, then just install those pop up outlets on the counter surface. That way it’s there when ya need it. An hidden when you don’t.
That would be a good spot for them.
(Usually I don't like them in the kitchen area, near sinks, tho)
Power towers on the end tables, maybe? There if you need it. Away when you don’t - leaving plate room cause foodage is necessary.
Makes sense
I vote for the farmhouse (1 large tub) sink. Great Rig. Except for that sink I'd love this model. As always, Great job Josh!!!!
Thank you so much!
We have a GD 303rls, very similar design. We have a drawer under the kitchen table, i think this model does as well.
I love hearing stuff like this from actual honors. Thank you so much
I would like to see lighting in the pantry that runs vertically and lights each shelf rather than just the top one.
Love that idea
Think in a week or so I have a review of that 320 coming out!
I would like to know the model number of the new side by side refrigerator…. If anyone has that, please pass it on
Very informative video! I personally like the outlets up higher, not down by your feet.
That would be cool!
Ty Michael! I like the pop up power idea
GD is quickly taking the crown for "best in storage" in nearly every one of their models I see
I hear ya Josh on the manual vs electric recliners.
TY Steven!
The Back and support is some thing I’ve heard rave reviews about for so many years which is awesome
I’m impressed with the Grand Design trailers. I’d love to see a review of their toy haulers. 23G specifically 👍
Will try to catch a few more next time I am out that way
First, Josh, my man, I do apologize for my delinquency of late.
Hey congratulations to you are in order then
Thank you. I'm very excited and humbled.
Grand design have great quality and by far are some of the best built!
At the sofa the power outlets could be mounted on the back wall just about the side stands that way they are easily accessed and if someone wanted to put a little lamp or some other electrical device it can be done without stretching extension cords all over. That would make it feel more like home and not like you are having to rig something up in a camper.
Keystone does a good job with their outlets like that
I would like to see the outlets in the back corner of the couch side tables.
I really like how Keystone does the rear wall outlets
The plugs should be in the top of the side tables, similar to how they are in the Brinkley.
Yes! Thanks Josh!
You're so welcome! I'm loving all the new things I can get my hands on!
I really like the dining area....best of both worlds is a definite. I like that the bench part is movable and has storage space too! I the farm sink. And would like a tower of power on the coffee bar. Nice 12v refrigerator!!! Overall.....nice design! Thanks for the video, Josh!
Thx Joann
Very nice RV love that the RV finally hasa tankless water heater that should save water weight too.
Another benefit of using Truma? They have the ONLY operating hot/cold testing chamber for RVs available right now and it's only available to companies that use their products!
So happy about this new partnership I liked this video three times!
😂 👍🏻 👍🏻 👍🏻
Love your videos. Hand wash dishes when out in our trailer. Would only buy one with a double sink
Them side stands need a pop up power tower in the back corner.
The couch outlets. I would like to see them higher on the front underneath the counter surface with a small shelf underneath it. You could charge your device and put it on top of the side table or set it down on the shelf. Then you could still open the side table from the top.
I like opening those side tables for storage too
Own a 2021 303RLS with essentially the same “ground floor” floor plan but with a north-south bed and a smaller radius type shower.
Good news about that bench is it could always just be removed and a couple chairs put in its place
Only negative for me is the bedroom TV location. Would want a farmhouse "light wood" option👍
You may like one of these for a lighter decor

I live in one of these and I would like to have 12v USB outlets by the couch and theater seating. The 110v outlets are fine and work well. But many of us want to charge pads and phones when we’re not plugged in to park power. I’d love that double sink. Ours has the large farm sink.
I suspect that's largely an aspect of this being an "Xplor" rather than a "Full Transcend" if I had to guess
Those side stands would be a nice place to have a pop-up power towers.
Rear wall outlets would also work I think. I just think it's odd where they're at
Flip the side tables next to the pull out bed, so the plugs are above the door not below. USB 3 is now the way to go as well manufacturers need to start updating the plugs
Remember when USB was just… USB? Lol
Cool stuff
These lineup pretty nicely with an eagle or cougar. All three will have their little high points and drawbacks
I love the fridge. fewer doors, the better. huge inside. great storage .
love drawers. RV's depend on em'. some, cabinets are not very
deep. Lots of cabinets are so shallow, rv shape.
Great drawer space. BathR is good. like sink, and storage under sink.
towel storage ok. like Bedroom. combo w/d not split. nice RV.
The hitch weight in your list at the beginning of the video is 1000 pounds too high. It is not 3185 pounds, it is 2185 pounds. Great video!
That should actually be the cargo weight my apologies
Really enjoying you showing new lines with the same old humor. Hope some day you are able to review camper I recently bought. Travel Lite Rove Lite 14 BH.
We actually had one of those of the show. I didn’t realize they were back in business effectively
5:37 even better than ‘the best of both worlds’ since the bench seating portion is movable to be used as an ottoman as well‼️👍🏽👍🏽
What do we call this thing? A DENCH?! 😜
@@JoshtheRVNerd // it’s a #BAIR 😉 Bench + chAIR 🐻
@@SamuelJMartinIII That Firks!
It fits.. and it works!
Power plugs in end tables, a pop up tower in back corner... And on theater seats, in front of the arm, ( facing out towards the tootsie toaster)
That all makes sense to me thank you
I told my husband last week that I wish you sold Grand Design. We love our Transcend!
Bish’s RV has them at several locations!
Very nice trailer.. And I prefer the large barn sink.
I love this RV. I love everything about it. You do a great job with this video. You are great 👍
Well thank you!!
The tv drawer is perfect for board games
Good call!
Same floor plan as our open Range 2910rl travel trailer but with more underneath storage.
